Do you do any holiday baking? Occasionally I want Mexican Wedding Rings, and I'll make those. Not much else though.
Does it snow where you live? Yes. Mainly in February is when it piles up, but anywhere from November-March is fair game.
I don't have any updates. Af never showed after stopping bcp, so I'm assuming I'll need provera to start one and I'm not really wanting to call and ask for it.

Do you do any holiday baking?
I'm usually the one that brings dessert to any dinner we go to. But I have to be invited to something to bake, since I don't want to be the one eating it all
Does it snow where you live?
Occasionally. And when it happens, the city shuts down because nobody knows what to do in it (including me!)
Any updates?
Not really. I caved and tested last night (11dpo) and it was . I know, I'm not out yet, blah blah blah. I may test again at some point today.

Do you do any holiday baking?
--Yeah, I like to make pumpkin bread. I cut back on my baking this year.
Does it snow where you live?
-- Yup, but it doesn't happen often. I really wish it doesn't because I'm terrified when it snows here. It's so scary driving in the city. My east coast friends would laugh at me because I turned into a total wuss with snow. I did get a car with AWD so hopefully, I'll feel a little more safe driving in it. My mind flashes back to 2010 where it took me 4 hours to get home. My commute is only an hour long.
My motto, when in doubt, call out! Or, at least, remember to bring my laptop home so I can work from home.
Any updates?
--cycle 16 (natural cycle) is a bust. AF is suppose to come very very soon. I POAS last night and it was BFN so just waiting for it to arrive. Then off to IUI number 3.

Do you do any holiday baking?
-I usually bake desserts for Thanksgiving dinner. Last yet I made mini pecan pies and apple pies. They were a big hit!
Does it snow where you live?
-not usually. I'm fine with that. Winter is my least favorite season.
Any updates?
-AF finally showed up yesterday. It's been a week since I took my last provera pill. Now I can start BCP and schedule appointments for my FET next month.

Do you do any holiday baking?
Yep, I host a Cookie Day every year and my friends come over and we bake Christmas cookies and watch Christmas movies alllll day. It's my favorite!
Does it snow where you live?
Yes, lots. Last year we had a couple storms where we got 20+ inches, which was was more than usual.
Any updates?
13 dpo after my 4th (and last) IUI and I tested this morning... Honestly, although of course I am disappointed, I was sort of relieved, because now I get to take a month and a half off from doctor's appointments and drugs, and icky progesterone!! Plus I get to go to my brother's destination wedding in the spring, which if I had gotten pregnant this month I would have been about 30 weeks for. At this point, the most pregnant I would be at the wedding would be roughly 18 weeks, so that's a major plus!

@Mrs. Polish: ooo what are Mexican wedding rings?
@Mrs.Someone: LOL don't you live in the PNW? I have a friend who moved there from MA and she said they shut down everything for what would be considered "flurries" here.
@bluestriped bee: I totally work from home every time it snows more than 3 inches here. It's my favorite thing about snow, haha! I'm sorry you got a BFN, but I'm excited for you to start up treatments again!
@Leialou: whew AF finally! For your FET, will you be on any meds (besides BCP) leading up to it? Excited for you!!

@Shutterbug: Yep, its totally true! Part of the problem is that Seattle is a very hilly city, so it just doesn't work with snow. I used to love it when I was in school because they often cancelled for .25"! Now its annoying though.
Boo, lots of BFNs around here today, sorry ladies
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Shutterbug: I'll be on Lupron and an estrogen patch. It sounds so much easier than my fresh cycle. I'm very relieved about that! I'm sorry about your BFN.

Sorry about all of the negative results this week. Would anyone like a little treat from this old thread?

A little. We make sugar cookie cutouts and let Chloe decorate. It's a lot of fun!
Does it snow where you live?
March-April is fair game.
Any updates?
Saw my RE this morning and got 4-5 treatment options. We decided to try clomid again with monitoring and TI. My RE added in ovidrel and crinone this cycle. I start clomid today and go in for b/w and u/s in a few weeks.

@Shutterbug: I think they're actually Mexican Wedding Cakes. They're delicious powdered sugar balls with pecans. I'm drooling.

Blah. I hate how BFNs always seem to put me in a sad mood And I was thinking about the holidays coming up and seeing family. We have a big family event coming up (lots of people coming to town), and I just know I'm going to be asked about having kids by nosy cousins.

@Littleredhairedgrl: oh my gosh--congrats, congrats, congrats! Please keep us updated!

@Mrs. Polish: I neever knew what those were called! My nana calls them something different... But I agree, DROOL!

@Mrs.Someone: Hugs! Can you and your husband afford to travel somewhere warm and sunny for the holidays? Just take a break from the world and all of its questions?
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Mrs.Someone: this is exactly how I feel about the holiday season. Exactly.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@sweetooth: It sounds nice a nice idea, but there is no way we can miss this family event (and I don't want to, I enjoy seeing my cousins most of the time). Probably what I need to do is go visit a cousin in CA (DH is tired of CA, and this would be a girls thing anyway).
I am going a girls night on Saturday, so that will be fun. 2/3 other girls have had losses and completely understand, and the other one is supportive and I'll probably be sharing our story with her finally.
@Mrs. Polish: I hate how it takes the fun out of seeing family! Hopefully you can hide behind Isaiah and enjoy his first xmas at least (can I rent him for Hanukkah? )
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Mrs.Someone: no one in my family cares about me know that he's around. I am looking forward to that. Of course you can borrow him.

Do you do any holiday baking?
No. Not a big baker, but I gladly eat what others bake!
Does it snow where you live?
Sometimes. I love it for a day or two, then want it all gone.
Any updates?
Check-in on Wed. showed my ovaries are "still asleep." They upped my dosage and I have a Sat. appointment for another check-in. The nurse said this could take awhile, so I need to be patient.
@Mrs.Someone: so sorry for the BFN and its bummer effect. I love @Sweetooth:'s idea of a getaway. I've been preparing for questions over the holidays. I was coming up with coy answers, but my husband said I should just be blunt: "No, I'm not pregnant," and let people feel like jerks.
@shutterbug: your cookie day sounds like a lot of fun. I wish we had more space to do something like that. Maybe I can downscale and do something similar. I'm sorry about your BFN, but it sounds like it has worked out for the better. What's your next step?
@Mrs. Polish: those look delicious. I seriously want to go on a hunt for them in my town now.
@leialou: that's exciting! Big step forward.
pomelo / 5228 posts
@Happygal: I'm going to talk to DH and see what he thinks about just being more straight with answers. Something like "unfortunately, its just not that easy for everyone". I know my family will be supportive, I'm just not sure we want to let the secret out that much (and open ourselves up to "advice" instead). Last time one cousin asked me was 2 weeks after my last loss. I told her that she shouldn't ask people those questions because she doesn't know what they're going through. I don't think she thinks it through enough to realize I meant US. Shes been told this before though. It was hard to keep my cool, but luckily I did.
I'm sorry to hear about your sleepy ovaries, but its good to hear that you're being monitored so well!

Do you do any holiday baking? I'm not really a fan of baking, but every year my sil and our friend spend a weekend at my house and "we" (mostly just our friend) bake a bunch of stuff. Hoping to scale it back this year - last year we had 15 different cookies/treats.
Does it snow where you live? Yes, a lot. I'm actually really surprised we haven't gotten any flurries yet. If it could hold off until December, that would be great. And it will stick around until April probably. I hate snow.
Any updates? CD21, just waiting for AF. I made the mistake of putting my expected CD1 in a due date calculator, and if our first IUI would be successful next cycle, due date would be very close to our anniversary. I probably shouldn't have looked it up, I'm just adding to potential disappointment.

Do you do any holiday baking? i do - i love to bake, so i'm hoping i can do some this year - thanksgiving pies are first on the list!
Does it snow where you live? it does, and apparently there's a possibility of some for next week, which i could do without haha
Any updates? going for my first u/s tomorrow since bfp! a little nervous, and anxious to see how the little guy is doing!
@littleredhairedgrl: congratulations!!! did they call back and confirm yet?!
@Mrs. Polish: i make something that looks just like them, but i use walnuts instead and call them snowballs (my mom is allergic to almonds - i'm wondering now if that's why our recipe is different than everyone elses haha) - they are my fave cookie!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Mrs. Polish: I sort of want to ask for the recipe so I can make them, and I sort of don't want to be aware of how much butter and sugar is used in making them (I think?) Ignorance is bliss, after all. . .
@Mrs.Someone: I love thinking of my ovaries being lazy. I don't know--it just makes me laugh. I was worried at first that not much seems to be happening, but realized it was better than the alternative--looking at my ovaries going into overdrive and having to call the whole thing off.
Thumbs down to nosy cousins! I've had a few family members ask, and I was honest about what we're going through. I finally told a well-meaning, advice-giving family member to assume that we are doing everything you're supposed to be doing.

@Mrs.Someone: I understand. It is hard to miss out on family events. I had a really hard holiday season last year. I hope you're able to work though some of what you want to say so that it's a little less difficult if the questions arise. Enjoy your girls weekend this weekend
@Happygal: The patience is so hard, I remember lots of check-ins on my injectibles cycle. Sending so much luck to you as you continue to go through your treatment and monitoring!
@Shutterbug: I totally want to host a cookie day one year...I used to love it when I was a kid and my mom would attend a cookie swap. Yummy, sugar-filled memories Also, I think taking a break during the holidays is so good. And yay for looking forward to a destination wedding in the spring!

Can I just say that all these mentions of holiday cookies are making my mouth water? And I am not even into sweets (gasp)?
@PastaAndPotato: @Mrs. Polish: Do you think these could be done well without any nuts? I'm allergic to almost all tree nuts, though it's not severe like with peanuts, and had these once and loved them.
@Happygal: Glad you're being monitored closely and they're paying attention!
@Mrs.Someone: I'm sorry about the BFN. The girls' weekend sounds like it could be good for the soul! I hope you enjoy it!
@littleredhairedgrl: Congratulations! Your clinic needs to end the suspense and call you!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Did your clinic help you feel comfortable with doing Clomid again and put together a good plan for avoiding the issues that came up last time?
I would so love to see the party thread resurrected with holiday cookies! Can you tell I'm hungry?

omg seriously @spaniellove i must check my phone every 2 seconds!!

@spaniellove: Yup. It is such a good feeling knowing I have trust in my doctor. That sounds cheesy, but it's true..
honeydew / 7916 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: That's really important! I'm so glad to hear they're able to help you take it again in a way that's safe for you.
honeydew / 7916 posts
@littleredhairedgrl: Is there a cutoff time after which you might just call them and ask? My clinic has forgotten to call about different things and after around 3 I've called and left a message saying "hey um you forgot to call me..."
persimmon / 1135 posts
@spaniellove they said the results typically come back from the lab between 1 and 4ish -- urgh!!!
