This cold weather has me daydreaming about vacations. What has been your favorite vacation?

My favorite vacation was probably in 2005 when DH (then BF) and I went skiing in the Swiss Alps with his family. I had never been out of the country, or even on a plane, so it was SUCH a huge adventure for me. Although, my favorite place in the world now is the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. We've been there 4 times in the last 4 years and we're going again for my brother's wedding in May.
Updates: I'm 5dp5dt (equivalent to 10dpo) and my test today was negative. I know it's still very early, but I just want to knowwwwww. I've been feeling very slight cramps on and off all week, but I'm probably inventing them

hmm . . . I think my favorite vacation was a trip to Italy I took with DH before we were engaged. it just seemed so romantic, we were there in May when the weather was beautiful. we used to take a lot of fun trips when I got travel points/miles from my job!
update for me - I'm 9dpiui today and starting to drive myself crazy as of today. I caved and tested trigger and I think it's out so I can trust tests going forward. I plan to test again Saturday at 11dpo.
@Shutterbug: I've been having definite cramps since 7dpo! but on progesterone I figure all bets are off.
I've started feeling pretty negative about this cycle, not really for any good reason. I just don't think it's going to work and I'm not sure I'm going to take it well. I do have an RE appt next cycle to talk about next steps if we fail 3 IUIs . . . we're a long way from that still but I guess it's good to have a plan (this is IUI #2).
but at least by the next check-in a week from today I'll likely have a BFP or AF! usually by CD1 I'm back from the dumps of BFN-land.

@Happygal: thank you! Today has been insane and I completely forgot until just now.
My favorite vacation was our honeymoon. We went to Gatlinburg which isn't too far from home. The simple and closer to home vacations have been my favorite.
Updates? Things have been so insane this week with my brothers being here and the awful weather that I don't even have a clue what CD I'm on. I think AF is expected Tuesday. Last month I felt lots more cramps beforehand and I haven't felt any so far. Having some constipation which is new. Not sure if it's my diet or what.

@Shutterbug: this last stretch of the TWW is killer! Hang tight--you're near the end and I'm so hoping this results in a super beautiful BFP for you. Do you stay in the same place in Mexico each time? It looks like a gorgeous place.
@bhbee: I was wondering how your TWW is going, too! I've had that negative feeling before as well, and then I feel guilty, like I'm not giving the baby a chance or that I'm willing it to be a BFP. I love having a plan! That's the only thing keeping me sane through all of this. Your beta is on the 26th, correct?
It feels like a long time since I've had a true vacation! I loved our honeymoon out west--Big Sur is one of my most favorite places in the world. I'm really looking forward to our cruise in February where I plan to do nothing but relax!
For the first time in awhile, we are truly taking a break! Well, we'll still try, but no meds and no OPKs. I've said we were going to do this more than once, but I'm sticking to it this time. It's a really strange feeling. I go next week to talk to the doctor about our treatment plan and I'm looking forward to regrouping and deciding what to do next.

@Mrs. Polish: are you on a new diet, or just eating differently b/c family is in town? I went to undergrad at the University of Tennessee, so I'm familiar with Gatlinburg! I agree with the close to home get-aways. It's easier to arrange everything, and it's fun to explore what is close by. We did a little get away to a cute, small town in West Virginia--the restaurants were good, the fall leaves were gorgeous, and we didn't feel wiped out when we returned home on Sunday.

@Happygal: my diet hasn't changed at all. My brothers and staying with me while our parents are away. Usually when I'm stressed the result is the opposite. It's odd. We had such a good time in TN. We can't wait to go back. Seems odd to talk about poop and vacations in the same paragraph.

@Happygal: they scheduled my beta for the 31st - I have a long LP and their goal is that you get AF first if it's negative. but if I see a BFP I am calling and asking to come in 14dpo or something.

Hello! I'll probably join in these threads if that's okay as I'm trying to get into à positive mindset for my fertility clinic appointment in March!
Favourite holiday ever was when I travelled the world in 2006. I quit my job and took off to have the time of my life! Loved it!
This is the first time I've really posted about IF here but I have my first appointment set up to TTC #2. I have to wean LO within the next month which is breaking my heart and I just feel so sad about starting on this journey again, with all the testing and emotional issues. Just booking the appointment has brought back all the old feelings and I need to pull on my big girl pants ASAP.

I have been dreaming about vacations this week too. I just feel like I need to escape for a bit, but unfortunately my husband is way too busy with work right now. Hasn't stopped me from planning imaginary last minute trips to Playa del Carmen and Vegas!
@Shutterbug: I hope cramps are a good sign. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is it for you!

@Mrs. Polish: I've heard wonderful things about Gatlinburg. It's not terribly far from where I am now (North Carolina), so I hope to make it there someday.
@Happygal: Oh my gosh, Big Sur is also one of my favorite places on earth! Well, tied with Yosemite. I hope your cruise is fun and you enjoy your break!
@travelgirl1: I'm sorry you're feeling sad about weaning next month. I can only imagine how difficult that is, especially while dealing with the emotions of going down the IF road again. I hope you're able to find a positive mindset before your March appointment!
No real updates from me, I'm just going to be waiting forever for my next cycle to start (only CD12, gah!) and hope my body responds to the meds this time so we can actually do an IUI. However I did email my RE this morning with some questions that you ladies helped me think up in the last check in thread. I requested more early monitoring for next cycle, so we have time to course correct if needed, and also asked if there was anything we can try for my extremely thin lining, since I was reading up on here about estrogen pills/patches, and I'm leaning toward thinking this might have been an ongoing issue for me.

@Sprite: I had lining issues when we were going through our IUI cycles. My doctor prescribed me a viagra vaginal suppository. It did wonders for my lining. This is a relatively new thing to prescribe for IF and some doctors may not agree with it, but it really worked for me. Just thought I would chime in with that. I really hope your lining cooperates next cycle.

I think my favorite vacation was probably my honeymoon! We had two weeks and went to Koh Samui, Thailand and Hong Kong. It was SO relaxing! I feel like I need to travel internationally now, just to get away from work!
No updates here! Trying to have a "positive thoughts brings positive results" mantra for this month/cycle!

My favourite vacation so far has been a trip my SO and I took to Kelowna (wine country!) when we were still dating. I have a feeling though that our upcoming trip to France and Spain is going to be my new favourite 
Updates? I am 11dpiui and have a beta scheduled for Saturday. I may test tomorrow morning depending on how I feel when I wake up. Otherwise I will test Saturday morning since I probably won't hear back about my beta until Sunday and I will be going nuts by then. The last time I tried to wait and not test it took almost 24hrs to get back to me and I had a panic attack 
because I got myself so worked up about it

Oppps I forgot my update:
Currently 3DPIUI and I have been sick ever since Monday I do not have a fever so I have not taken any meds and have been in bed every night by 6 sleeping by 8ish......so I am hoping that kicks it......also hoping being sick did not interfere with IUI which I know is crazy.....lol
I go to RE Saturday for progesterone test to make sure levels are where they need to be!!!!
Betas on 2/4 :))))

Best vacation hands down was Maui! We honeymooned there and would love to go back sometime. It was just beautiful.

sending positive vibes to everyone on here.
My best vacation so far has got to be Rome. We honeymooned in Italy and it was such lovely time. For favorite trip closer to home, I would say that Yosemite is a top contender; its where DH knew he wanted to marry me and proposed to me 3 years after that our first trip there.
Update: I finished my first femara/letrozole cycle and have been instructed by my RE to BD every other day beginning CD10. Will be getting lab work done next week. I'm really hoping that we'll see a BFP this cycle.

@Shutterbug: 5dp5dt is still early! I read that the majority of women still don't get a bfp till 7dp5dt. (Forget where I read that or might have concluded it with all the reading of various threads I did). I still have a good feeling for you!

@SweetiePie: thank you still negative at 6dp5dt, although DH misread the Wondfo and declared me pregnant (until I corrected him, haha). I'm preparing for it to be a bust, but I know I'm not for sure out yet.

@Sprite: Have you heard back from your RE? Were you ever on birth control? I was for a long time, and that's when my periods got so light. They've never returned to "normal." I went on a really fun family trip to Vegas. We ate so much good food and saw a show every night. I thought I wouldn't like it since I'm not a party girl, but it was a blast!
@justdarling: I've heard of that! Is it regular Viagra, or one that has been made just for women? It makes sense that it would work! Oh, but the jokes I would have to put with from my husband. . .
@LindsayInNY: wow--I've wanted to see Thailand for some time. Pictures! I like the positive mantra. It's really easy (and understandable) to get down with all this stuff, but I feel better when I try to be positive. Fake it till you make it, right?

@lazypanda: that's a romantic story! How did the femara treat you? It was pretty easy for me, but I remember being very aware of ovulating.

Best vacation? I don't know. I went to France when I was in 11th grade with my mom and sister to visit some family that live there. My mom and sister went back to the states and I stayed in France with my aunt and uncle for a few weeks. That was fun.
DH and I have been to Hawaii last year and went to the Rivera Maya for our honeymoon. A little over a year ago, we took a two week road trip that crossed 7 states and put on 5100 miles on my car. Each of these trips were memorable in their own way.
Oh, I went to Vietnam last year,too. It was with my parents and sisters so it was fun for a family trip.
I'm hoping to travel to Europe within the next few years. I thought I would be going for work this year but the trip might have fallen through. Sad face. Would have been nice to travel to Europe and have half of it paid for. Boo!
Anyway, updates for me, I'm on CD 11. In the middle of my last IUI. Completed my femera dose. DH is coming in on Monday to drop off a sample to freeze. Then my U/S is on tuesday Jan 28th and hope to trigger that day. Then IUI should be on the 29th. Expected POAS is Feb 12th.
I want to be hopeful but I'm not. I really am looking forward to IVF. Well, not looking forward to paying for it but gotta do what we gotta do.

ugh feeling like I am definitely out. I decided to test today at 10dpiui and BFN. still early but just not feeling it. I started hot flashes this morning which is typically the beginning of the end for me. I picked today to test because I'll be busy and can't get too down about it. probably do one last ditch test on Sunday.
I am feeling some stabby cramps on one side - the one I ovulated from - so now I am worried about a cyst that could force us to take a cycle off. anyone have experience? hopefully I am worrying about nothing. I assume nothing I can do until CD3 appt anyway.

@Happygal: I'm not really sure if it is the regular viagra or not, but it is in a different form. You have to get it from a special compounding pharmacy. It is rocket shaped for easy use since it is a suppository. It apparently increases the blood flow to that area so that the lining thickens. It makes things very, ahem, tight down there. Trust me, it does not have the same effect (ie get really horny!) like it does for men - but it did do what is was supposed to do.
