Ugh. No word from "scheduling" and when I called at the end of my day at 4:55 they ready had closed and turned off the phones. Waiting another day.

@LindsayInNY: That would make me feel better, knowing there were 6 cycles in that year--does it help you, too? I know you're frustrated, but it also sounds like you're feeling level headed and ok with waiting a few more months or so before seeing the doctor, which is good!

It's nice to hear you say you see where my DH is coming from so I keep the other perspective in mind. I don't want to villainize him, or belittle his feelings. We're just at loggerheads on this topic.

@LindsayInNY: when I first posted it, I had a handful of people post it. Now, I'm seeing it more now. I keep bumping my post so 'everyone' sees it.

    @LindsayInNY: hi pretty lady

@Happygal: this makes me sad for you I hope that you two can come to a positive resolution. Hugs, love

@T.H.O.U.: boo to that. Hope you get in bring and early tomorrow AM.

Can I post a quick update, too? Since my losses this spring, I've been on Zoloft to help keep my anxiety and depression in check. I've been on it since I've been pregnant, which my OB is fully supportive of. Well, my prescription runs out in three weeks, by which time I will be close to the third tri (insanity, I tell you), and that is when the risk for using it goes up. I've been so, so nervous about weaning off of it though-just one more thing to worry about.

So today, at my 23 week appointment, we had a good heart-to-heart about it. He suggesting halving my dose for the next month to see how I do. If I don't do well, we'll up it again. If I do, I may try going off of it all together. Either way, I'm going to go back on it immediately postpartum, which is another thing that terrified me.

No matter what I end up doing, though, my doctor was super supportive of me possibly needing to stay on the medication. I have felt badly about needing to be on it, but he asked me if I would feel badly if I was diabetic and needed insulin (obviously not) or had an overactive thyroid and needed meds to control it (again, no). He said that this is no different if I need it. I know he's right, but sometimes, it's hard. I see people talk about not ever wanting to take any medicine while pregnant, and I don't have that luxury. But I'm eternally grateful that I have access to the medicine that I do need to keep me and my little plum healthy.

Sorry, that was a long vent. Hope you all are well. Love to all

@LindsayInNY: @bluestriped bee: I got tagged in one of these today. I'm considering making one and including things like 1. I drank the whole time Zay was in the womb. 2. I walked out of the delivery room 20 min after Zay was born. 3. Immediately cleared for sex.

I don't think it would go over well though.

@Mrs. Polish: You got tagged in one? Maybe they just forgot?

  7. Mrs. Polish

@bluestriped bee: my friend wrote one and I liked it. She commented and tagged my name and told me how many facts I'm supposed to write.

I know she knows, so that makes it even more weird.

@Happygal: I'm so sorry. I to had a very reluctant SO in the beginning. It was hard for him to accept that we needed any sort of help. Maybe more so because we have MFI in addition to endo on my side
Is he able to explain what it is that he can't get past?

@T.H.O.U.: Sorry about the scheduling issues, waiting for a referral is the worst!

@LindsayInNY: Welcome to our group but sorry you are here at the same time

@LovelyPlum: I totally agree with your doctor. You need to do what is best for you and the little one

@LovelyPlum: Your doctor sounds very supportive! Its super important for mommy to be in good mental health too. I have a friend who has been refusing all meds while pregnant and nursing (5 years), and 2 kids later, their whole family is in crisis mode all the time. I'm glad you realize that you are important in this equation too.

I never really "watch" what I eat. I think I have been the same size since jr high, so I indulge!

Updates.. Got my cd20 progesterone back yesterday. (I worked on cd21 during lab hours). It came back at 22.8!! I was so excited 100mg clomid must be working!!

    Any insight ??

  13. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@LovelyPlum: that is wonderful and I'm sure a big relief. Mental health all too often takes a back seat to, well--everything! It makes me so happy to hear there is a doctor who is supportive and knowledgeable about this.

@Mrs. Polish: huh?! Why would she do that? Maybe to make you feel included? I would be so confused. You should respond! I'm grateful I haven't seen that pop up into my news feed yet.

@mrswin: greetings to another reluctant husband club member! What made him turn the corner? My husband has a bunch of reasons, none which are true concerns, so it's really more a feeling that he can't quite explain.

@T.H.O.U.: good luck getting in touch with scheduling today!

@mrs bunchy: no insights--just that it looks like Clomid did the trick for you! So how far into the TWW does that make you?

@Happygal: I think we should start a little support group regarding our DHs. I suspect I am going to need it once we get a little closer to IVF!

@mrs bunchy: No insight from me either, but I am just glad that the Clomid seems to be working for you!!

@LovelyPlum: It sounds like you have a great doctor! You feeling good is good for your baby!

    @Mrs.Someone: congratulations!!

This past two weeks has been a whirlwind. I'm so behind on this thread!

Everything is on track for my FET next week. I'm going in on Friday for an ultrasound to check my lining. If it looks good I will stop Lupron and start Endometrin and the transfer will be Wednesday. My stomach looks ridiculous right now. I'm wearing four estrogen patches (Vivelle) and the sticky stuff turns dark after a couple days of wear. It is very hard to scrub off after the patches are removed so I've got it on several spots. I've got some bruises too from the shots.

@Leialou: wow, things seem to be moving so quickly! How are you feeling?

@mrs. someone: how are things going for you? Have you had a doctor's appointment? Lovenox still working well for you?

@spaniellove: any updates on your pregnancy to share with us? Has the morning sickness died down for you yet?

@mrs bunchy: 22.8 is awesome! Hoping it means something special

@Mrs. Polish: You should TOTALLY write a snarky response!

@Leialou: Thanks! So excited for you, I hope all goes well!

@Happygal: So far so good with the Lovenox. My belly is actually looking less gross at the moment. Doc appointment this afternoon.

@Leialou: Hope everything stays on track. That is exciting!

So, I called my OB office who said they had sent everything over to the RH and they were waiting on the return call for the appointment. They said I could also call if I wanted so I did. When I got a hold of the office, she confirmed they received my referral paperwork and that their scheduler would call to set up an appointment which usually takes 1-2 weeks. Seriously!!! This can't be normal. I blabbed to the receptionist that I really want to get something scheduled ASAP because the reason for my referral was because of recurrent miscarriages and we are currently TTC. She seemed to understand and put a note in for the scheduler and now I have to wait again. I'm just worried that with the holidays 2 weeks will really turn into 4 weeks.

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@T.H.O.U.: I wonder why it takes so long just to make an appointment--did they tell you why? Like maybe they review your records and have a plan for testing already set up and get you to a specific doctor....trying to think about how it might save you time in the long run. Or maybe they're just inefficient! Patience is definitely tested with TTC.

@Happygal: I've been meaning to tell you...although my husband eventually became very supportive and probably doesn't remember now that he ever felt differently, I realized what our needs were long before he did and there were many arguments at first. We really did butt heads in the beginning. I'm hopeful that you guys will work it out.

@Leialou: Can't believe you're already almost there! Have you tried some kind of oil (like coconut or emu oil) to get the dark residue off? Hopefully the bruises are a minor sacrifice because this round is going to be a success!

@LovelyPlum: If you ever want to talk about the meds, I'd be happy to talk. It's not easy making a choice like that. I'm on meds for my epilepsy and migraines, and usually people go off it before pregnancy but I'd be in the hospital all the time if I did so my neuro kept me on it despite the risk. It sounds like you have a very good doctor to help you weigh the pros and cons, which is the absolute right thing to do. You're doing the right thing.

I left the RE even though they hadn't released me (long story) and stopping the shots has made things much easier, finally. My morning sickness was never that bad actually! I'm just so relieved that after all those losses I'm finally in 2nd tri.

  21. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@T.H.O.U.: Did they mean the process of setting up an appt would take 1-2 weeks or the appt would be within 1-2 weeks? I've had appointments with new specialists take from 1 month to 3 months, so actually 1-2 weeks would be record time for me...

  22. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@spaniellove: That it would take 1-2 weeks for her to even call me back to set up an appointment. I'm sure it will still take several weeks after that until I get be scheduled for an opening!

  23. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@T.H.O.U.: Huh, what a strange way of doing it. I've only had it done that way once before and the scheduler called the next day. It's hard but try not to think about it - the anticipation will make the wait seem even longer!

  24. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

@spaniellove: Yes I'm trying to just not think about it too much but I don't know if I should be TTC or not (OB wasn't clear). Half of me wants to just go ahead and keep trying and if I get pregnant then maybe I can get in sooner but I obviously don't want to risk another miscarriage. I don't really want to keep waiting though because maybe this is just a false positive.

So an update for you all, if I wanted to fit an IUI in before Christmas, AF needed to arrive today. No sign of her and I'm actually very okay with that. I'm going to enjoy Christmas and start my final IUI in January. 2014 will be my year!

I'm actually taking horseback riding classes for the first time ever (never been on a horse) this weekend and I was a bit concerned that I might be pregnant and miss out on it, when this lesson came up. Now I don't have to worry. I hope I like it.

Have any of you been horseback riding before?

@T.H.O.U.: Yeah, I can't wait. We got a groupon deal so the DH and I are both having lessons at the same time (on two different horses) on Sunday. It should be fun! We get 4 lessons each, so it should be a good experience.

@lovelyplum: thanks for venting!! I take lexapro for anxiety and tried to go off it 2 years ago, and it was bad news for me. DH & I met with several doctors to discuss the risks of being on it. We compared them to the risks of untreated anxiety and made a decision that I was OK with staying on the meds. I wish you the best of luck with your weaning and with the third tri (congrats!!). If you ever want to chat more, I'm here!

@mrswin: @Mrs.Someone: @Happygal: @Sunshine1810: thank you ladies! It's so nice to have your support. I'm three days in to taking the half dose, and so far, so good. I'm not sleeping super well, but that's pretty much par for the course for me. I am hoping that things continue on this path. And you're right, having my doctor on board has made all the difference.

@spaniellove: thanks for your comment. I actually thought about you when I was writing that, because I remember that you had to be on meds, too. I agree, it's the right decision to stay on medicine when you need it. I'm still on some pretty heavy duty asthma and acid reflux meds, and it would be completely unrealistic to think that I could go off of them and still be healthy. Part of the reason that I'm comfortable with my doctor is that he is 100% on board with this. Thanks for the reassurance. It's scary, but I know it is good for both me and baby. You're making some tough choices, too-I'm glad you're looking out for your own health as well!

@SunshineMcC: thank you so much! I promise, I will

    @Leialou: so soon!

@bluestriped bee: I'm sorry that you won't be getting another IUI this month, but enjoy that horseback riding. It sounds amazing!
