I feel bad that I have to think about this! I have so many small things that make me happy on a daily basis... my husband, our dogs, our new home, my job, I feel like we have so much to look forward to! But I've been in kind of a slump lately.
Yesterday was administrative professionals day... I'm not an admin, but my boss said she felt bad because so many people around me got something so she got me some flowers. That was something good!
Updates - none, of course. I'm starting a health kick and I'm already feeling pretty good! I'm also determined to deal with the issues that dh and I have with IF and communication.

@alohaorchid: that was soo kind of your boss! I am a teacher and forgot all about it, I my AP and Primcipal, hmmmm..maybe I'll bring something tomorrow?!?

@FaithFertility: It was nice of her for sure! She's kind of socially awkward so I'll take anything lol.
I'm always so impressed by teachers! What grade/subject do you teach?
Does anyone here have experience with longer luteal phases? I'm finding that mine is pretty consistently 17 days and that was proven this cycle by temping... well, if af shows up today, if not then it'll be longer than 17 days.

@alohaorchid: hahahah I am a First Grade teacher! my kiddos that age is the best

The best thing that happened this week is I passed the real estate exam and was accepted by a broker. I'll have my license next week.
No updates. I'm still on the pill. I think my first FET appointment is next week. I need to email the IVF nurse and find out what day the appointment is. I'm ready to get started!

@Leialou: Congratulations on the exam, that's awesome news!! I'm very excited for you to get started with your FET

I had a couple of awesome things the last week. Last Friday we took our nephews to build-a-bear, lunch, and out for ice cream. That was probably the best thing. Close second was seeing my kids when I came back to work.
No real updates yet, DH has his SA tomorrow morning and I'm nervous, mostly just afraid that the clinic won't call us with the results until Monday.

@alohaorchid: I'm glad the doors are opening up between you and your husband for talking about things. My luteal phase is usually 12-13 days or so. I don't think a longer one would be a problem!
@Leialou: congrats! That's exciting.
@mrstal: I'll be watching for hopefully a great update on the SA. Glad you had a good week after going through a rough patch.
My favorite thing is the spring weather we've been having. I did well on round 1 interview for a full-time teaching job for next year (I have mixed feelings about going back full-time, but we'll see).
Does someone want to keep our list going for this week? I failed for the last go-round. I'm honestly feeling a bit fatigued with all the TTC/IF stuff, so while I keep up with everyone, I'm not posting as much these days.
**Update: I'm on the third night of injections this week with a higher dose of Follistim. Hoping to see 3-4 good follicles this time. I go in this Saturday to check the ovaries and have blood drawn. If all goes well, I'm guessing I'll be set for an IUI next week.

@Leialou: Congrats on your exam! Excited for your upcoming FET!
@alohaorchid: I'm happy that you sound so optimistic! About your cycle-- how many cycles have you been temping...and how many days long are your cycles? 17 days is quite long... And your temps are remaining high? FX for you!
@MrsTal: That sounds like a lot of fun! FX for DH's SA! (I would probably attempt to forget about in until Monday...and be pleasantly surprised if they called me sooner.)
@HappyGal: FX for your teaching position! (DH had a heck of a time...). And GO, follicles, GO!!!
I got my RE/IVF consult appt moved up to 3 weeks from today! And I kind of suspect I'm going to stick with that center and cancel the other appt. I got a phenomenal recommendation from someone I used to work with!

The best thing in my life from this past week was DH getting a promotion at work! More money, and he's moving to a department that he's wanted to work in for a while!!
No IF updates for me. I've been really down about TTC lately. A lot of "why do I even want a baby, anyways?" feelings going on. Probably because we can't afford IF treatments anytime in the near future so I feel like we're at the end of the line, no matter what my hsg/lap may come up with.
@alohaorchid: I think a health kick is a great idea!
@Leialou: Congrats on passing your real estate exam!
@MrsTal: Wishing you and your husband good luck w/ the SA tomorrow!
@Happygal: Jealous that you are having nice spring weather. It's still cold and disgusting where I live. Although, Easter Sunday was a fluke and we got 70 degree, sunny weather!
@FliegepilzHut: I hope your consult goes well!

@doxielove: congrats to your DH! That's exciting!

@FliegepilzHut: My cycle is always 29 days. This is my first cycle where I have temped every single day, but around my 6th or so where I have tried to temp. I have been using OPK's for around 2 years and I always ovulate around day 12, so it does look like I have a longer luteal phase, I'm not really sure what that means. Plus, I have very short periods, one day of bleeding where I don't even bleed all day (nothing at night), about half a day of spotting and then it's done. My temp dropped almost a full degree this morning and I have cramps so af is definitely on her way! Good luck with your appointment today!
@Happygal: thanks, me too! I just hope that it continues and we can start facing this together. I'm positive that he's dealing with it on his own because he doesn't want to burden me with it and I hate that. Fx for your IUI!
@doxielove: Congrats to your dh! That's great news Sorry you're feeling kind of down lately though.
@MrsTal: GL with the SA!

My grandma gave me a bread maker. Definitely my highlight
AF is trying to finally start. Brown spotting right now. 85 days late. Sigh.

@Mrs. Polish: um, so sad to say (because someone in her early 20s should have more exciting things to get jealous over) but I am JEALOUS of your bread maker. And yay for af? 85 day cycles suck!
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@CupQuakeWalk: it is the most fabulous thing. I. Love. It.
coconut / 8475 posts
@Mrs. Polish: yeah well, I hope you get really fat, dear
Not that i'd even know what to do with one if I had one, but my mom made us fresh bread all the time and I can't look at store bought the same ever again.

@Leialou: Congrats on passing the test! That's fantastic! And good luck on your upcoming cycle. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you!
@Mrs. Polish: A breadmaker is so very exciting! And ugh on that super late AF. That is super annoying to say the least.
@MrsTal: Good luck with that SA! And ugh on the waiting. There is so much waiting in IF I can hardly stand it!
@doxielove: Congrats on your DH's promotion! And I'm so sorry about your feelings about TTC. I think we've ALL been there when it takes so long.
@alohaorchid: I have absolutely no advice on a long luteal phase, except, have you taken a HPT yet? I think that long of a luteal phase would be indicative of a BFP to tell you the truth.
The best part of my week? Well, it's been a rough week, but I will say that the margaritas DH and I have made the past 2 nights have been a highlight.
In IF news, the clinical trial we were hoping to do never actually came to fruition. Ugh. But, our RE thinks we should try some IUIs anyway since DH's counts are really high (though he still has just 1% morphology). Thankfully they're not too expensive at this clinic, but I don't know what we'll do since we're officially waiting to adopt again (but will likely wait awhile) and now we'll have to pay for IUIs oop. I also don't want to get our hopes up either. But, we kind of feel like with his better counts it might be a "now or never" time to try treatment. I'll be sure to keep you all posted though. This page is the only place I've shared this (and yes, I'm aware this is a public page, but I'm pretty confident no family or friends are a part of the hive).

@Mrs. Pinata: no : ( af just showed her face! 16-17 days seems to be normal for me
@Mrs. Pinata: margaritas sound excellent to me! I'm sorry you've been having a rough week.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@alohaorchid: Ugh! I'm so sorry! My LP is usually pretty short (12 days is a good LP for me), so I actually wish I had a long LP! Personally, (and I'm no expert), I think that a long LP is a good sign and not a problem. But, if you're working with an OB or RE I'm sure they would know better.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@alohaorchid: My LP is 16-18 days, verified by temping (and also when I triggered for IUI so knew O exactly). it clearly hasn't helped me to have a long LP since I've had 4 chemicals. I usually start spotting by 12dpo (without meds) so the end 5 days are just kinda useless
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@Mrs. Pinata: we conceived my LO with 2% morph (and clomid) . . . my old RE thought we shouldn't worry about that number vs other SA numbers. I know it's a hard decision you're facing about whether to do the IUIs . . . we are all here to support you!

best thing for the week - we are signing our house papers tomorrow! and our mortgage payment turned out lower than estimated because they had the tax payments too high before. good news when our IF treatments going forward are OOP.
updates: while I thought I might have ovulated early, I got a dark OPK yesterday. so we're giving it a few days of trying. we won't be able to try next month due to bad timing, so this is our one chance for a natural cycle before we go back to the RE after the move. given how busy we are I'm still feeling at peace with whatever happens.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@alohaorchid: I'm so sorry...and absolutely no help. Dr. Google (and I hate Dr. Google) says it could be related to high progesterone levels...and cysts? It might be worth seeing an RE, just to get a more satisfactory answer. BTW-- my appt is still exactly 3 weeks away (but I did manage to move it up by about 2weeks).
@Mrs. Polish: A breadmaker sounds wonderful...but I would weigh 300 lbs, sadly.
@bhbee: Congrats on the lower mortgage payment. This is my last natural cycle before (probably) IVF. FX for you!
clementine / 901 posts
@alohaorchid: That's sweet that your boss got your flowers!
@Happygal: Thanks for the good luck wishes! How are injections going?
@FliegepilzHut: I'm lucky (using that term sarcastically) that I'm working all weekend so I won't have a ton of time to think about waiting for the results if they don't come in. Plus we are having our first fire of the year on Saturday, which will be fun/distracting. That 3 weeks is going to fly for your consult. I hope it's an excellent match for you.
@doxielove: First, congrats to your DH, that's fabulous! As for the other stuff, that's really hard. I feel like that a lot. You are younger if I remember correctly, I think close to my age (27) so even though you might not be able to afford treatment immediately you may be in a much different place in a year. I speak from experience, last year we were doing an IF test every few months as we could afford it and now we are doing IUI's out of pocket. It's not the most comforting thought but don't think about it as the end of the road, just maybe a little break. Hugs.
@Mrs. Polish: Yay for the bread maker! Sorry about AF tho.
@Mrs. Pinata: That's all IF is, a waiting game. Sorry about the clinical trial tho, that sucks, but I think the fact that your DH's numbers are good is a good indication to give some IUI's a shot.
clementine / 901 posts
@bhbee: Woo for a lower house payment! FX that you are ovulating now so you get a natural chance before you get in with your new RE.

Best thing this past week was our vacation!
Otherwise, starting Clomid tonight and going from there...
I've been trying to refrain from posting on here/HB after my coworker found me (and in IF threads, no less) but it's hard not to have all of your support and input during this. So, I don't care if my coworker reads this... If she does, I hope she feels like she's reading my private IF diary. (That's all I'll say since I'm trying to be positive/nice!)
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@bhbee: Thanks for the support and encouragement! That's good to know you guys conceived with low morphology numbers! We've heard the same thing about total count and motility mattering more, but it's hard to believe that for us when it's been so long without any BFPs.
Also, great news about your mortgage payment! That's great!
@LindsayInNY: Eek and good luck!

@alohaorchid: thank you! I like your avatar--very cheerful. Are you following a certain exercise routine, or just general healthiness all around? I'm lifting weights at home and my husband laughs at me for lifting 5 pounds.
@FliegepilzHut: what does your husband teach? I'm so glad your date got moved up and it's based on a friend's rec--that is awesome. I'm going to the only RE in town :happy:, but they happen to be a well respected group.
pomelo / 5000 posts
@MrsTal: injections are just fine. I feel like a pro now! I used to make my husband sit with me for moral support, but now I just dash in the bathroom and am done like *that*. Is your week turning around? I hope so!
@doxielove: spring will be your way soon! It still is getting cold here at night, and the pollen is outrageous. But everything is green and blooming, so I won't complain (too much).
@mrs. pinata: mmmmmmmaragaritas! You're speaking my language. I love them. I'm sorry about that clinical trial--that's very disappointing.
@bhbee: Yeah! That's great news.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@LindsayInNY: Yikes! That's rough. Do you think she's trying to be supportive...or just creepy?
@MrsTal: Thank you! FX!
@Happygal: DH teaches History at one of the local high schools. What about you? I am positively thrilled that I got the glowing recommendation that I did! It turns out it was totally worthwhile "putting myself out there."
bananas / 9229 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Creepy... And stalker-ish. There's no reason for her to be lurking in IF threads...
pomelo / 5000 posts
@LindsayInNY: hope you get all that drama straightened out, and good luck with your cycle. I see you've got a lot of old threads revived! Non-IF related, but something I saw on a thread earlier today--where will you get to see Dave Matthews this summer?

@FliegepilzHut: I teach K-5 ESL part-time and work as an ed. consultant/curriculum developer for the rest of my time. High school students intimidate me!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@LindsayInNY: Yuck. I'm so sorry...
@Happygal: That sounds amazing! DH is a big tough guy...he can take whatever they dish out and give it back to them!
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@Happygal: Your job(s) sound so awesome! That ed. consultant/curriculum developer sounds particularly interesting to me!
bananas / 9229 posts
@Happygal: Yes! We're seeing him at the end of July in Bristow, VA. We try to go to a new venue each tour, if possible. Otherwise just default to a NYC-area show I'm approaching show #20 soon!
