If sex could be easily selected do you think more boys or girls would be born?

@mfa_lady: I am having a second boy... as much as family is into boys (culturally it's "better" to have boys) I still get a lot of ... are you going for a 3rd for a girl? I definitely get this question from friends and co-workers.

My reply is usually... Let me just get this one out of oven first before we decide.

@Raindrop: Right?! How about let's get through this situation before we start on the next. Haha! I think that in general, people just say stuff like that to have something to say...but for some reason they don't realize how frustrating it can be.

I think unfortunately it is boys all over the world and honestly, I haven't found the US to be more progressive than Europe for example.

@dc yoga bee: I know! And I don't even think they mean anything bad...they just think they're making conversation! But...make a different conversation. Haha! Hope you are feeling better!!

@Mae: Agreed. I think it would be pretty even (at least in the US). I think many people having multiple kids would have one of each. And for people who just want one kid, you'd have a good split of those who want a boy and those who want a girl.

    I think 50/50, probably.

Definitely boys. Ever seen the documentary "It's a Girl" ? It's heartbreaking how many girls are killed each year just for being girls. The film states the UN estimates 200 million girls are missing due to gendercide.

Infertility changes things. I think if we had a girl first we would have been one and done because of the cost and investment. Whereas, we did look at gender selection for a second. And at the point that I am paying to do the chromosomal testing for the best chances I may as well put in my request for gender balancing.
