@loveisstrange: Same. I'd never even heard of a babymoon until HB. It wasn't even something we thought about. We still travel, we just bring LO with us.

I didn't know it was a "thing". I am not doing it this pregnancy and last pregnancy we travelled a lot and I didn't like it at all! I much preferred to travel with the baby afterwards.

You used the perfect phrase with "bucking the trend...." it definitely is a trend! Most of my friends don't do it and it is newer thing.
We won't be going on one b/c of finances and the holidays. I also feel like it's loaded with expectations--time to appreciate being just the two of you all romantic. My experience with those type of expectations is that someone ends disappointed!
I have made a little mental list of cheap/free things to enjoy before the baby arrives. Going to the movies is on the top! When we decide on a whim to go out to eat or run errands, I try to appreciate how is easy it is do all of that right now. That's about it.

our annual leave falls over the xmas-new year break, and with my first pregnancy I was a sick puppy for the entire time so no holiday for us (we had planned a 4 day small getaway). this time around, I have morning sickness again so same story. If I feel better by the time easter comes around I might consider a short family break locally.

We just went on our belated honeymoon when we got pregnant... We did go on a short trip for a friend's wedding in my 2nd trimester, so I kinda counted that as a babymoon and never actually took a vacation for the sake of babymooning.

We were supposed to take an in town staycation, but DH got busy at work the weekend we were supposed to do it. I regret not having a babymoon.

We didn't go on a babymoon because I spent about half my pregnancy traveling for my dissertation research and I just wanted to be home!! If the timing was different I would have wanted to go...I've had my eye on this all inclusive resort in Mexico for a couple years that we won't get to go to now...

We won't be taking one, but we have taken a big, fabulous vacation each summer, so I won't probably miss it until baby girl is already here.

Ds1: we went on our honeymoon at 13 weeks, not really a 'baby moon' persay.
Ds2: I made sure we went out and did stuff when it was XDHs weekend with ds1. Lots of movies and mini golf and hiking around Gatineau Park and long, leisurely meals out and late night walks - stuff that gets difficult to do with a newborn. No travelling though.

I had my first over seven years ago and don't regret not taking one. I've had lots of fun trips with him since then.
