This is too funny because these three are in my top four that I'm deciding between! Also looking at a Britax, not sure which one.
So, I can't really help since I'm still deciding too, but any specific considerations? Is your car big or small? LO tall or short? Are you looking for extended rear facing (I'm guessing yes based on these three choices).
I like the idea of the peg perego, seems a bit smaller. The clek I think is going to be too big for my car. I want to rear face as long as possible and c is average height and weight.

We have a CRV, LO is small — 20lbs, 28.5 inches at 17 months (5th and 15th percentiles) — and yes to ERF!
I know we could buy any seat out there and it will be good for our situation, but it's just so hard to make a final decision.
Britax is out for us, because in Canada, the 2014 models require tethering while RF. We don't have floor anchors, so it would require some figuring out. For that reason only, we took them off the list.

I voted for the Foonf because we have two, and I have been super super happy with them!
I preferred the Foonf to the Radian because the Foonf sits up higher (I wanted LO to be able to see out), and because of a few of the other safety features.
I don't know too much about the Primo . . . but I thought that was an infant seat . . . ?

We have the foonf and love it, but it is BIG. Do you have a big car? DS is huge, which is why we chose it, plus it's ridiculously sturdy construction.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@tinyperson: the tethering is only if you use LATCHright? We don't have latch in our car anyway but maybe I'm missing something?

I learned about tethering Britax seats from someone on this board, also a Canadian mom, I forget who now!
pomegranate / 3858 posts
I just heard from a Car Seats for the Littles tech who said that Britax doesn't allow you to tether to a seat track - so it would have to be over the top of the car seat to the rear of the seat it's installed on! So they're out for me. Britax is apparently coming out with an anti-rebound bar later this year to solve the problem.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@tinyperson: That's interesting, because I used the Britax channel on You Tube to look for a connection point as we also didn't have anchors on the floor.

We really like our Foonf and I had a hard time making such an expensive purchase, but most important, my LO loves it and is super happy and content in car rides, sitting up high and looking out the window.
We also have a CRV and are ERF. I am more than happy to send you pics of E i it in our car, if you want to see how it fits. The passenger gets a bit scrunched but DH and I are both 5'10"+ so that's our issue....

@looch: I should specify - this is in Canada only. In the US, there are different rules, so I think you can tether to a seat track (or don't have to tether RF at all).
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@blackbird: pics would be great! DH and I are short (he's 5'6" and I'm 5'4") so I can move my seat up no problem.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@tinyperson: Yes, in the US it is optional when rear facing, that's true. I had this very same convo with another bee, but I can't for the life of me remember who it was now!
If I remember I'll wall you.
Absent Brtiax, I'd go with the Diono Radian. I like that you can fold up the bottom part of the seat for travel and that you can fit three across.

We have a Foonf and I love it! I have an Accord and it a little tall but we can still use a mirror so we can see her.

@tinyperson: We love our Foonf and so does DD. it fits really well in both our cars. And it gets top marks from me for being made in Ontario

I love our Foonf! It is huge, but as long as you are comfortable with the seat being on the passenger side (as opposed to the middle) then you should be fine. B seems to really like it because it is high enough for him to see out the side windows and the rear window. The safety features and ERF made it worth the extra cost for us.

I have only used the radian but I thought I would at least give my thoughts about that one. It's a good seat and overall I like it and would happily buy it again. To install rear facing though it has a severely reclined angle unless you but a foam angle adjuster which is a bit of a pain. I also hated installing it with a seatbelt and it is a low seat so it can be hard for kids to see out. On the plus side though the seat is comfortable, it looks more like a booster seat so for preschoolers who are starting to want a "big kid" seat it is a nice compromise, the straps don't tangle and it buckles nicely.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@Smurfette: In your accord, do you have to have the passenger seat pushed forward? I think our car is about the same size-- Acura TL.
So, the Foonf usually cannot put put in the center? Again I'm doing a seat belt install no matter what- no LATCH.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@tinyperson: Even if the rules are more lax in the US regarding the tether, I sort of feel like I'd rather follow the stricter rules if it's safer, you know? But I know so many people who love their Britax.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Foodnerd81: The Foonf can fit in the center. It is pretty narrow. It all depends on the space between your front seats.

I like the idea of the Foonf, but as our daughter is getting older (2.5), its a pain to get her in and out of the larger seats. She's taller now and she always hits her head getting in and out because the sides are so tall.
We are looking to get her a Radian and pass the other down to LO#2.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Foodnerd81: It is pushed forward more then when the infant seat was installed but I still feel like I have plenty of room when sitting in the seat.
I don't see why you can't put it in the middle. We just have always used the side. I do think R wouldn't like the middle as much since she can see out the window so good on the side.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@Foodnerd81: Oh yeah, I'm the same way! I'm not in love with the look of Britax, and because of the tethering issue, it's out for me...that's why the Foonf is top of my list - it has the anti-rebound bar so we'd be ok not tethering.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Smurfette: I have had LO's seat in both the center and side position . . . surprisingly, she seems to like the side position better! I prefer the center position for safety reasons, but right now, her seat is on the side.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@MsLipGloss: @Smurfette: Thanks. We have the infant seat in the middle, since it's safest and we don't have to push the seat forward as much. DH pushes the driver seat back so far when he drives, but he is almost never in the passenger seat and I don't mind if being forward a little if we had to put her on the side. We will probably get a new, bigger car by the time we have to fit a second seat. Since she is used to the middle I don't think she would complain about it, yet

@tinyperson: Did you see this list: http://www.babble.com/baby/babble-blogger-favorites-the-best-car-seats-of-2013/
It has all three of these seats so I'm guessing you have seen it, but I thought the comments and pros and cons were helpful.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@tinyperson, I'll send a couple to your wall and I can take some more tomorrow morning when she's in there.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@Foodnerd81: Yeah, I've seen that list - I've compiled a bunch of comments and Canadian stats on the three seats from a bunch of articles - including that one. The weight/height limits are different for most seats in Canada versus the US, so I have to take their rankings with a grain of salt (they may like one seat better because it has a higher US height limit, but it may not be the same in Canada).

@MsLipGloss: there is an infant seat and a convertible.
We have the peg perego (and I am the only person that voted for it! ). I really do love it though. It's super comfy for LO, has high RF limits and FF limits (I think it goes to 70lbs which is really high), is streamlined/doesn't take up a lot of room in our car (acura MDX). I personally think it's more streamlined that the foonf. Plus the peg just LOOKS really nice--they're made in italy and the black "leather" one we got matches exactly with our interior, which is a nice bonus.

Love love our foonf. She sits up so high and loves to watch out the window. The fabric is ridiculously easy to clean.. She spit up and it just beaded on top. It's a beast of a car seat with awesome safety features. Love that it's a Canadian company and has a small footprint.
Those were my top 3 also and in the end went with the foonf...Super happy with it !

@hilsy85: @char54: Gah! I'm so conflicted!
I just heard from a car seat tech that in Canada, no vehicle manufacturer allows the "swedish-style" tethering for RF (i.e. anchored to the floor or seat track) - and only Britax allows the Australian way (over the top of the seat) - so basically no RF tethering in Canada.
Foonf is the only one of those three that has an anti-rebound bar, so maybe that's what we'll go with. I really like the look of the Peg though. The Radian is ok, but she didn't look as comfortable sitting in it at the store as in the others. I don't know. I need someone to make a decision for me!
squash / 13764 posts
@tinyperson: have you actually seen any of them in person? I really liked the foonf...until I saw it in person. SO I would check them out if you can! This review also helped me make my decision! Of course there are also a million positive reviews for the radian and the foonf...your LO is small though right? I think the main reason people go with the radian is if they have very tall LOs. Same for the foonf I think.

@hilsy85: We've seen them all in person, and even tried the Radian in our vehicle (friends had an older one that they weren't using anymore, so we borrowed it to see how it looked).
She is small, and I know we can pretty much choose whatever seat we want and it will be fine to ERF. Foonf and Radian are also narrow, which is nice for when the in-laws come to visit (they don't rent a vehicle, so we all have to fit in ours).
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@tinyperson: it is a tough decision!! I live in a town where I couldn't try any of them out so had to take a chance, it was risky!!' Lol
I didn't want to have to deal with tethering either and DD would be too small for the britax long term so the foonf it was. The one thing I read about the Peg was that if you need new parts it could take 6+ weeks to ship since they come from Italy. Not sure if that's true though!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@tinyperson: yes the narrow footprint is AWESOME and one of the main reasons I narrowed it down to diono or foonf. I was able to sit in the middle back seat comfortably for a 4 hour road trip with DD in the foonf to my right.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
@char54: My parents live 3 hours away and we'll be going there several times this summer -- and I often sit in the back with her to make sure she falls asleep!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@tinyperson: you are researching this far more than i ever did! i just went for the most popular when i found a deal, LOL. My vote went to Clek of course. I stil love it and have no complaints and LO is very content to ride in it.
ps. Love your new avatar, she is so precious
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@hilsy85: Do you find the black "leather" gets hot in the car? I was wondering about that. I agree I like the look of this one the most. But I feel like I shouldn't pick a car seat based on looks
