We just put aside FSA money for me to get LASIK done next year. I became contact lens intolerant and had severe dry eye for a while... After treatment it's almost gone and I passed as a candidate for LASIK. But now that the money is going to FSA I'm of course doubting myself. Too late, Mrs. Wagon! Anyway, if you wear glasses full time like I have been since August, why?

I like glasses and I don't really like wearing contacts! Plus I think my face looks weird without glasses, haha. But that could be because I'm so used to them.

I wear my glasses all the time, and have since I was 4 or 5! Mostly because I like my glasses, but also I have really sensitive eyes and can barely sit through an eye exam since I flinch so much. My optometrist growing up used to joke that I could get contacts, but not from him! But really I have no desire to wear them anyway, I love my glasses. It sucks to be so dependent on them (and helpless when they break...like when I accidentally stepped on them once in the middle of a work day...) but I don't know what I look like without them.

I only like contacts in the spring/summer when I wear sunglasses. Plus I love my glasses.

I wear my glasses all the time because I can't see. My sight is blurry without them and straining tires my eyes out. I tried to switch to contacts once, but they were so uncomfortable I had the doctor take them out less than 5 minutes after putting them in.

I got LASIK almost 8 years ago & I LOVE it!!! I could see pretty much perfectly within a day or 2 of the surgery and I can barely remember what it was like to wear contacts. My sister & BIL got it shortly before I did, and no complaints from them either. It's so worth it & I highly recommend!! Let me know if you have any questions, my experience was very positive!

I'm afraid of LASIK, and my eyes dry out earlier in the evening than they used to when I wear contacts.
I generally wear my glasses and pop in daily disposables when I need to wear contacts (running, yoga, etc.)
EDIT: Also, my vision has been improving since I went off BC! My astigmatism is even slowly correcting itself. So, I'm kind of seeing where it's going to stop.

I became contact lens intolerant after years of over-wearing and not caring for them properly. I can only stand them for a few hours now once in a blue moon.
I like my glasses so it isn't so bad. I have considered Lasik and talked to my Dr about it multiple times. She did not encourage I get the operation. She said that it works best for big corrections and that my sight basically isn't bad enough for it to work as well as it can. She also said that she knows many doctors, herself included who have chosen not to get the surgery and that if she wasn't comfortable doing it for herself that she couldn't recommend it for me. -
@Adira: same! I feel like I look better in glasses, though since I've had them forever, it might just be what I'm used to!

I voted other. I have tried to get contacts in the past, and literally cannot put them in by myself. I tried a sample pair at home and could get them in after about 45min of trying. Then my eyes got unbarely dry and felt like I had "too clear" vision in weird way causing headaches.
And I can't afford LASIK so glasses it is.
Note, I can function fine without glasses, and used to never wear them, but once I started working full time at computer my eyes got shot. Now any reading, tv watching, or computer time for more than 15min without glasses causes headaches.

I have year round allergies & no matter how many different contacts I've sampleds none of them have felt comfortable on my eye. It always feels like they are dirty. I've worn glasses since the 7th grade so I'm use to it.

I've worn glasses since 6th or 7th grade, when I stopped being able to see what my teachers were writing on the blackboard.
Now, I'm just used to them. I think I look better with glasses than without (though my husband would disagree, ha!). I have actually never tried contacts. Every time I go to the eye doctor I tell myself "this is the time I get contacts" but then I always chicken out.
I do wish I wore contacts when it comes to sunglasses, since prescription ones are expensive and I tend to lose things. Also, for certain activities like skiing where my glasses won't fit under my goggles (and prescription ones are $$$).
I will probably get lasik at some point, but we'll have to see when, exactly.

Ever since I moved to Nashville I have REALLY bad eye allergies that make regular contact wear impossible. I'm wating to do LASIK until after I'm done having children since your vision can change in pregnancy.

I developed an allergy to my contacts out of nowhere. After trying (and paying for) a third kind of eye drops and repeated follow up appointments with my eye doctor I just threw in the towel and got a pair of glasses I loved!

I do. I've worn glasses since college. Even wore them on my wedding day. They're definitely a part of my identity now and I love them! I've never bothered with contacts because I like my glasses so much. My husband wears glasses too, so we're very much a bespeckled couple

@MamaMoose: Same reason! My eyes hate Memphis. I never got eye infections til I moved here. Not wearing contacts solves the issue.

I voted other. I was just about to do LASIK this year and take out FSA money to do it. But I watched an episode of Dr. Oz that talked about Lasik and completely changed my mind. I vowed instead to wear my contacts much less and buy a new pair of glasses that I actually like.

My prescription is too strong for normal contact lenses, the only kind I can get are super thick and uncomfortable. Also, I'm afraid of Lasik and have been wearing glasses since second grade, so they basically feel like a part of me.

I wear glasses 99.9% of the time. I do own contacts, but I only wear them if I'm going to the beach (which is rare), or something like that.
I would never get lasik, because I'm too scared. I know SO many people who have gotten it done, and LOVE it. For some reason, it's not enough to convince me. I'm jealous of the people who are brave enough to do it.
But, with that said, I really like my glasses, and I'd probably still wear non-prescription. Silly.
I don't wear my contacts, because I'm pregnant, and my eyes are soooo dry.

I used to wear contacts allllll the time. Even those nifty overnight lenses. Once I graduated college and started staring at 2 computer monitors for 50 hours a week my vision got shot and I couldn't bear wearing lenses anymore. Enter glasses!! So, I wear glasses primarily for comfort. I'm also a big sissy and cheapskate, so LASIK is not in my future. I've grown accustomed to how I look with glasses, too, and I don't think I look too shabby

I will do lasik eventually but I'm still too young for it. I wear glasses because I have a few medical eye conditions that keep me from wearing contacts,. they have improved though, so I wear contacts on occasion but I can't drive at night with them because of glare.

I have chronic dry eye so that's part of it, the other reason being convenience.

I have a severely inward turning eye that is correct by vision correction. I had hard contact lenses for a few months as a teen, and they were a nightmare of pain and dryness. Lasik would not correct my issue. Surgery would, but that surgery has a 50% failure and revision rate. And I just don't care that much - I've had glasses since I was 3. I like them.

I only wore glasses bc my eyes could only handle contacts a few hours a day before they got severely dry and irritated. I got LASIK 2 years ago and it was the best decision ever

I became unable to wear contacts on a regular basis and couldn't afford Lasik. Now (this this like 3 years into wearing glasses full time) I don't really mind it. Although I'd like to do lasik at some point, it isn't really a high priority.

I love my glasses! Since I started wearing them 10 years ago they've become a part of my face and I do not go without them, ever. I've tried contacts and hates them. They hurt my eyes so bad (tried a few different kinds) and made my eyes so dry.

I haven't ever worn contacts - I've worn glasses full time since I was 8. I don't even think I would recognize myself without glasses.

I am a great candidate for LASIK and my doc is a pro, but I am afraid of the burning smell. I am also lazy and I adore my glasses.
I am also cheap.
