Wow some of you guys are so lucky to have that week off between Christmas and New Years! I would love that! I'm taking off the 23rd and the 27-30th. I don't really have the PTO so it might end up unpaid, but it doesn't really matter.

I got laid off this summer and took a contract position afterwards, so if I'm not working, I don't get paid. My office is closed the 23rd and 26th, otherwise I'll be at work.

@Canoli: It's a little rough this year, because I'm basically just working 1.5 weeks before the two-week break starts (just finished mat leave). Luckily my boss is understanding and letting me work from home the first week. She has a two-year-old, so I'm sure she's not expecting stellar productivity haha. Next year my DH and I will be able to each take some days, but he just started a new job so can't take off this year.
@looch: @T.H.O.U.: yes, growing up we just had the week between Christmas and New Year's off, but down here two weeks seems common. I'm pretty sure our daycare is closed for another full week in August, among some days here and there throughout the year so....that's nice
