I had GD in my last pregnancy (test at 28 weeks). This time, they tested me at 16 weeks and I failed but if I had passed I would have been tested again at 28 weeks.

I was tested early because of my weight and family history with diabetes, passed, and tested at 28 (I think?) weeks and passed again.

I was tested twice for both pregnancies because I put in my family history my grandpa had diabetes (only for the last year or so of his life so I probably should have omitted it)

I was tested twice during my second pregnancy despite passing the one hour first tri test, never having had GD my first pregnancy, and zero family history of diabetes. My doctor tested again because she said I had gained a lot of weight and had an excess of fluid. Test was negative.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: My two tests were exactly the same. Drink solution, wait an hour, finger prick to put blood drop in glucose monitor.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: The second type you described is what you take if you fail the 1st one hour test. They are both real tests.

@Mrs.KMM:, @Mamasig: ok. I didn't get the results of my 1 hour test for at least a week. So, if I fail it in a few weeks then it looks like I will have three tests altogether.

I was just tested once, at around 28 weeks. However, it was a 3 hour test. My midwife practice goes straight to the 3 hour, for everyone.

I was tested in the first and third trimesters with my second baby since my first baby was so large (9 lbs 5 oz). I did not have GD with either pregnancy.

It can be normal to test twice, especially if you have a history of GD or are overweight. But with no risk factors, no.
