I've heard it's REALLY common but no not really for me. I've maybe itched my belly a handful of times during pregnancy.

I had one. I lathered up with cocoa butter. It the real stuff and not the lotions that say they have a little cocoa butter in them.

not too bad on my belly, but sometimes i'll get really itchy on my legs. usually slathering on a lot of lotion helps. i've heard you shouldn't scratch your belly because it may make stretch marks worse...not sure how true that is though!!

@regberadaisy: @Maysprout: @ustechie: tmi, but i've had itchy nipples this whole pregnancy, but this belly itchiness is definitely a first. it's driving me crazy. i put tons of lotion but i wonder if that's making the problem worse. aahhhh!

@tequiero21: gah, the itchy nipples- i also had that! luckily, lots of lotion worked for that problem too. if lotion isn't helping, maybe you should try switching to a different brand? does it have fragrance or something else that could be irritating??

I got an itchy belly POST labor. It got so bad (I itched a lot) that I had to go to the derm and get cream

ME!! I also have itchy nipples. It especially happens after being in the shower and I've been scratching my belly under the warm water. After I slather myself in a two pound layer of lotion (I exaggerate but a LOT of lotion to get some relief)!

My nipples drove me nuts in the early stages, it's just my legs now, but my pharmacist reckons that's probably dehydration- you getting enough water, tequiero?

Yep, belly has been itchy from pretty early on. When it's really bad, the paneled maternity pants make me crazy, I have to wear a tank under the panel. But my belly got way harier too, still blondish though, thank goodness. Pregnancy can be so weird.

hmmm. turns out i think i have pupp or something. it's definitely starting to look a bit rashy. =( and STILL SO ITCHY! my husband wants me to deal with it and not get any cream since it has steroids. =( too bad we don't have ice in the fridge. i think i may try the cool wet cloth.

"PUPPP will usually effects women who are in their first pregnancy, carrying twins, and is usually at its worst during the third trimester"
that's so me! although, it doesn't look as bad as some of the pics i've seen.

Cream yourself. A lot. If you don't have any signs of a rash than it isn't PUPPPs

@blushink: i have a rash... all over my belly. it was VERY light in the beginning so i didn't notice (i've had discoloration throughout my body) but it's definitely getting darker. and it's CRAZY itchy still. putting a cool wet towel helps but i'd LOVE to just itch itch itch! i am not the type of person that can sit and withstand this itchiness hehe. i'm the type that will scratch a mosquito bite until it gets really big and red. what i would DO for some cold caladryl or something.

I am constantly itching around my belly button, and it usually wakes me up in the middle of the night and then I need to get up and pee! And I too have noticed that my belly is much hairier now...two more weeks, two more week.s

YES! The itchiness won't stop! I borrowed some lotion from my mom last week, and it was the most effective thing I've found at keeping the itch away. Seriously amazing! She bought it at Sams, but I haven't found it anywhere in my area. You can get it from Amazon, though.
