I felt it all day before my water broke. I woke up to my mucus plug, which continued to come all day. A lot of brown discharge and then my water broke at 11:30pm. I was crampy and uncomfortable all day beforehand.

Awwwww!! I'm sorry to say, I felt "off" for about 12 hours before my first contraction. Then I was in early labor for 12 hours. It was 7 hours later that our lo was born....

Oh god, I had PUPPS hell too. I know how awful that is. Mine went away thank god. Inductions often suck, you're right to be nervous. If you can hold out until you go into labor on your own, you might have an easier time.

I absolutely remember that feeling, when every day feels like a week. If you're scared of the induction, try to hold out!

I can sympathize. I woke up at 5am at 40+6 and just started bawling. I continued to cry on the couch until DH woke up and saw me on his way out the door for work. The entire day I felt off. Everything ached (more than normal), and my hips felt like they would slip out of joint with every step. Looking back, I realize that I had some small contractions too, but they didn't hurt enough for me to think twice about them. I went into labor at 2am the next morning. You certainly could go into labor without any warning, though.

@TurtleDoves: actually, I ended up with a c-section because she was sideways and crooked. Had she been position correctly, I could have pushed her out. After pushing for so long though, the c-section was welcomed and the recovery was not bad at all. In fact, I was up and walking in no time. As much as I feared the c-section prior to labor, I was pleasantly surprised how it wasn't horrible at all. I even asked the doc to give me some Lipo while she had me cut open during the middle of the surgery.

@TurtleDoves: I was barely dilated and got cervidil, in the evening, I rolled over in the hospital bed and my water broke on it's own. DS was sunny side up, crooked and face out so it took longer and I did get an epidural, but if he weren't in a bad position I would've been able to have a pitocin/IV-free birth. I did have a vaginal birth, all good.
