    @kristinleigh: DH is a junior, so from the time we were dating he established that if we ever had a son, it would be a "third"

    so I called dibs on getting to pick girl names. I have two picked out, but want to see the baby first. They're both pretty traditional/old names (his grandmother's name and my great-aunt's)

    @kristinleigh: we cant agree on anything yet, our little guys was so easy, but this...UGH. I have a few names I love, but husband gives me "the look"

    For whatever reason, I am feeling really disconnected from this pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my son I felt instantly bonded, protective, petrified something would go wrong. I feel awful about not feeling that way this time, that isnt to say I am not excited, but the same feeling isnt there...

    @MaryM: DH is a junior here too! But he got so aggravated with his dad and him being mixed up on things he said he would never do a third.. so we're using his name (Joseph) as the middle instead!

    @SwanSong: Aw maybe it just hasn't sunk in yet? Don't beat yourself up about it!

    This is my first so I'm super "protective"... I find myself touching and holding my stomach (bloat lol) all the time without realizing it.

    @kristinleigh: I'm kind of shocked DH is sticking with it given that too. DH's dad would use DH's address on things like car insurance because DH lived in a safer neighborhood so it was cheaper. But then that meant DH would also get his photo tickets. After stuff like that, I'm surprised he's ok with carrying on the same name!

    Our DS is Lucas (with a k instead of C because I'm Scandinavian and it's the traditional spelling there). For this baby I like Hannah/Hanna for a girl or William or Hudson for a boy.

    I'm 7 weeks today! Longest I've been pregnant since DS.

    @travellingbee: awesome milestone!

    I love Hanna/h!

    I found out in high school that my dad's great-grandmother's name was Johanna and for a long time I wanted to use it for a daughter. But when I got married my last name started with an H, so I feel like that would sound funny

    First off... I wish we could make new threads within the due dates!

    Second off, I keep freaking out over every little symptom. I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and today my symptoms (which was only nausea and sore breasts and bloating) seemed to dissipate a lot... nearly disappear. Then I've had mild cramping (which I've had off and on since before my BFP at 3 weeks, 3 days!) and I just keep overanalyzing everything. It's driving me crazy I'm trying not to but it's hard. I had a miscarriage 7 years ago and a chemical in October and it took 19 cycles to conceive this one so I'm just so worried. I just want to get to 12 weeks so I can relax. Our first ultrasound (viability scan... I hate that terminology too!) is next Wednesday at 7 weeks and I feel maybe then I'll feel better?

  9. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @kristinleigh: I totally get that. I haven't had many symptoms so I get incredibly worried. I had a loss in Jan. 2014 and wasn't able to conceive until this pregnancy, so it's scary.

    As long as I'm not spotting, I tell myself several times a day "I'm pregnant today, and that's a blessing"

    Some days it's easier to remember that than others, but I figure maybe I'll have to keep reminding myself for a while!

  10. kristinleigh

    cherry / 178 posts

    @MaryM: I keep trying to tell myself that too! I just can't wait for next week's ultrasound and hopefully see the little heart beating away and I'll feel a lot more relief. I was doing fine for a while until today!!

  11. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @kristinleigh: I've been the most anxious this week. This is about the time our last baby stopped growing. And my US isn't for two weeks (I purposefully made it later because we had that awkward "We don't know if you're miscarrying or if your math is off and you're a week behind" situation last time)

    You're not alone!

    But I keep trying to remind myself that all pregnancies are different and what happened last time isn't guaranteed to happen this time.

    I am tired, and having some trouble sleeping. I am having a hard time concentrating on work, which is problematic because I am pretty busy, and I know it will only get worse.

    @MaryM: How many weeks are you? Fingers crossed everything goes well for you!!

    @mdf106: same problems here. I'm not super busy, but I have several things that need to be done this week and I can't focus on them for anything. Plus I have to get up from my desk every hour or so to pee.

  15. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @kristinleigh: 5w5d. I'll be 7w4d at my first US.

    How about you?

  16. kristinleigh

    cherry / 178 posts

    @MaryM: 5 weeks, 6 days. I'll be exactly 7 weeks at u/s! She said I'm getting a 7 week, 10 week, 12 week?

  17. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @kristinleigh: That's great! I think after 7 I just get 16 (unless there's a need for more)

  18. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @mdf106: I've been having sleep issues too. I'm exhausted and in bed by 9:30 most nights (I used to stay up to 10 or 11), but then I wake up around 3 or 4 and have the hardest time falling back asleep.

  19. mrs.shinerbock

    pomegranate / 3779 posts

    @travellingbee: Yea!

    @kristinleigh: my symptoms come and go, too. Even the exhaustion wasn't so bad last week, though it's back in full force this week.

    @travellingbee: I love the name Hanna!! My friend wants to name her baby that so it's the only reaso I didn't go with it!

    @kristinleigh: My symptoms definitely come and go too. I can't remember how it compares to my first pregnancy. I know I was nauseous all day but I can't remember if it was ALL ALL day or on and off all day like it is now. I'm having U/S at 6, 8, and 12 I think. I definitely go back for my 8 week "graduation" one and then they send me to the OB if all is OK. I am supposed to go to the OB at 10 weeks but I don't think they'll do another ultrasound until the N/T at 12 weeks.

    @MaryM: I had some insomnia last night too. I woke up to pee at 230 and was awake until 330. Grrr...

  22. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

    @kristinleigh: I've always liked it but my DH LOVES it. He's been calling our future child that since before we even started TTC.

  23. kristinleigh

    cherry / 178 posts

    @mrs.shinerbock: I'm peeing a lot too. Luckily everyone knows me as the queen of drinking water (I drink 1-1.5 gallons a day!) so once someone said "Oh you're using the bathroom frequently" (weirdo for even noticing lol) and I was just like "Well I do drink a lot of water!!". I wake up 2-3 times a night.

    @travellingbee: Aw! That's how we were with Savannah then my older sister took it

    All you ladies having U/S so soon are making me jealous! I won't have one until 6/5 when I will be 8w5d, but I had the day off from work and I am trying save up all my time for next January!

  26. kristinleigh

    cherry / 178 posts

    @mrs.shinerbock: Aw! I'm only having one because it took so many cycles to successfully conceive and it took Clomid to get this little one to stick so far! She told me typically 8 weeks, but if I wanted to come at 6 or 7, I could, so I chose 7! Now I wish I went with 6 though but this long weekend will go fast and this week is flying by so far thankfully. June 5th isn't too far away, it'll come quick!!!

    I don't get an ultrasound until the NT scan around 11-13 weeks.

  28. mrs.shinerbock

    pomegranate / 3779 posts

    @sera_87:

    Anyone else already have heartburn? I can't decide if it's the lack of sleep, the pregnancy, or the ridiculous amount of spicy food I've been eating...hopefully not the pregnancy, I don't think I can deal with this for another 8 months!

  29. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @mrs.shinerbock: I've gotten it off an on worse than usual.

    I had it to begin with and already taken zantac daily, but I've had to up the dose a few times and have started traveling with tums. It seems to be the worst in the morning after my first meal.

  30. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

    @mrs.shinerbock: Here and there but not consistently. I have a hiatal hernia so I will definitely have it by the end. Last time I was on hefty prescription acid reducers to deal with it in the last few months (Nexium).

    PSA: Be aware that if you taking an acid reducer regularly, your body can't absorb iron orally. This caused a huge problem for me later in pregnancy when I became severely anemic because I wasn't absorbing the iron from the prenatals. They had to do iron infusions which totally sucked. But it's lucky I did because I bled a bunch in labor and would have had to had a blood transfusion during birth if I hadn't.

  31. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

    @travellingbee: Does that apply only to iron in vitamins or to food based iron too?

    I don't take my vitamins at the same time as most of my medicine because I do remember a warning with something at one time about not taking them together (not sure if it was a stomach medicine or not)

  32. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

    @MaryM: either and if your acid blocker is one you take but it lasts all day then it doesn't matter when you take them...

  33. mdf106

    clementine / 828 posts

    I am actually not really especially busy, I am just always busy at work.

    @mrs.shinerbock: I have to pee a lot, and I normally do anyway. I also drink a lot of water, not really on purpose, just because I am always thirsty, especially while pregnant or nursing. I also have heartburn.

    My first ultrasound is at 7 weeks 4 days, in two weeks and two days.

    @sera_87: I don't think I will have a u/s til 11-13 either, so I am with ya!

    @travellingbee: Thanks for the PSA! I find that pretty interesting, but I am sorry it caused you so much trouble--yuck. Sounds terrible.

    @bisous: at least I know it for this time....

    The nausea today/tonight was pretty bad. I was close to throwing up. and I'm still solo parenting until tomorrow night. DH is going to owe me big time. I want to sleep for three days straight.

    @KristinLeigh: Yep, we've had names picked out for years, even before we got married.... we both love names. If it's a girl, her name will be Juliana Ruby, if it's a boy, Grant Family-Name. We also have 3 other names for girls and 1 other name for a boy

    @travellingbee: Congrats on hitting 7 weeks! I'm 5 weeks today and similarly excited, my pregnancy app's picture switched from a big ball of cells to a very-beginner-fetal-pole

    @KristinLeigh & @MaryM: I'm definitely monitoring my symptoms and constantly wondering, for example, "Are my boobs more sore? less sore? same sore? hmmm what does that mean....?" My betas have been doubling really well (was 1584 yesterday, up from 304 on Thursday!) and I am really trying to be thankful for that, but I know it's not a guarantee But nothing ever is, really.

    @cvwood: Yeah, it was REALLY hard hearing about her termination, not going to lie. She was even happily married at the time, and wanted kids, just "wasn't ready"... She told me in October during my loss, and then we had a huge falling out in Dec bc she was all like, "relax, it's not like you're 45 or something, just make sweet love to your husband and eventually your baby's soul will find you." Um, no, that's not how it works for everyone. We didn't talk for 5 months, but that's in the past and hopefully we can re-bond over our pregnancies and babies. We'll see.

    As for ultrasounds, I'm getting a 7wk & 11wk, but I hope I can convince him to let me do a 9wk too... I don't think I am emotionally strong enough yet to go that long, calmly.... I've had a really rough school year / life year (deaths, floods, loss, infertility, 70% turnover at work due to a horrible climate/culture) so I am just really on edge and have a hard time trusting that things can/will go well. Also we're also supposed to take an important DH-family trip in the middle of my 11th week, so.... yeah. Hopefully to tell DH's family then, in person!

    @kristinleigh: Congratulations! I know it's a longer wait, but I think going in at 7 weeks instead of 6 weeks will be a much more exciting ultrasound Sometimes 6 weeks is a bit early to see very much and that can be scary and disappointing. (speaking from personal experience on that one!)

    @kristinleigh: I was the same with my first pregnancy. my nausea disappeared overnight, literally, and instead of being relieved, i was so scared something went wrong. but everything turned out to be fine! sometimes symptoms can literally vanish. also, i thought viability happens at 24 weeks? do you mean after the 6-7 week scan (where you see the heartbeat), the chances of miscarrying significantly decrease? correct me if I'm wrong! either way i am hoping the time between now and your scan goes quickly!

    my fatigue is otherworldly at the moment. i worked during my first pregnancy and recall being fatigued, but it was NOTHING like this. now i'm a SAHM with a toddler but i feel terrible because I am totally useless and feel sorry for my baby girl! my parents helped watch my LO today because i literally couldn't - i had to take 3 naps. i wonder how i was able to survive going to work during my last pregnancy. kudos to all the preggo mamas.

    my first scan is june 10 (8w4d) and it is still so far away.
