@MrsBrewer: With my first two pregnancies, I told my boss early on because of all the appointments. He was really sweet about it and compassionate towards me when I had a miscarriage. Turns out his wife had one or two as well. I haven't told him yet about this pregnancy though...I feel awkward about it this time around for some reason... maybe because I feel like it's kinda soon to be taking maternity leave again.

@MrsBrewer: I'm glad you called back. I know sometimes offices get busy and things just accidentally get forgotten. And I am glad they are taking your concern seriously. Hope everything goes well with the ultrasound tomorrow (and yay for getting to see your LO again!)!

@Mrs.KMM: I know I'm secretly excited I get to see LO again so soon! But then again, I wish I didn't have to truthfully. I am just praying that everything looks just fine and uneventful.

I really am thankful that they aren't dismissing my concerns at all either. Now I'm just nervous about all of these bills!

I haven't told my boss yet. I thought I was going to have to tell him really early because I figured there would be things in the lab that I could no longer do and we would have to work around those but it is looking like that might not actually be the case. I'll probably tell him soon though A) because I won't like lying about appointments and B) I want to give him plenty of heads up to find and train a replacement. There are only 3 of us (including him) in our lab and I'm not planning to come back post-baby so we'll be losing a large percentage of our workforce.

Just told my boss! She's in town for a conference (she works in a different state), and I was able to tell her in person tonight. She is super excited.

@LindsayInNY: Thank you, I have my appt in a little less than 3 hours, I'm really anxious, and for some reason I just don't have a good feeling. I woke up again today still spotting just a teeny tiny bit, but zero nausea again.

@dc yoga bee: YAY!! So glad your boss is excited!! If my appt goes well, we are going to tell family this week, and I will probably tell work this week as well, but we'll see what happens.

@MrsBrewer: Easier said than done, but try not to be! Spotting is normal for so many people and it's brown too which is good (means it's old!).

@MrsBrewer: Good luck at your appointment today.

I am trying to see how long I can hold out on telling work. I would really like to be able to tell my family in person first before telling work, but I won't see some of them until Christmas. We will see how it all plays out though.

@Eko: I'm with you... We're waiting until Christmas to tell family so I definitely don't want to tell work until after that, assuming I can hold out.

@LindsayInNY: I have told a couple friends I am close with at work and my parents, so I don't feel so compelled to tell many other people. The most important people I am close with know. I will be about 16w by Christmas, so I am hoping I am not showing enough that no one will ask.

@Eko: Ah. I haven't told anyone! DH and HBers, that's it. Well, plus one friend who's dealing with IF herself. That's all. I saw my family this weekend and I'll see my parents next weekend again and then nothing until Christmas. Luckily we have travel plans for Thanksgiving so I don't have to worry about hiding anything. I have NO clue how much I'll be showing by then though...

Just got done with the ultrasound, everything looks great! Phew! Measuring 8 weeks today so baby is still growing. I'm going to talk to the midwife now to see maybe what's causing the spotting

I haven't told my boss yet and probably won't until the 12 week scan at least. I think that he already suspects it as do most of the people who sit around me because I'm bloaty big time and have a pseudo bump already.

  26. LindsayInNY

    @cascademom: Yikes, that's what I'm afraid of!!

@LindsayInNY: This is #2 for me, so I feel like I've been showing a bit earlier than last time. I really didn't even start to look pregnant with LO until 12 weeks. By 12 weeks, I started to wear a belly band. This pregnancy, I've been wearing one at about 6-7 weeks. By 15-20 weeks, I definitely looked pregnant with LO. It was a much slower show the first time around. This time, it's faster.

  29. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@cascademom: Ahh, that could be it. Phew, makes me feel a little better! I guess only time will tell.

@LindsayInNY: Here's me at 12 weeks or so with LO. Not very big at all.

@cascademom: so cute! But definitely still a bump!

  32. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@cascademom: No, not at all! But I don't think I could hide that size bump at work?!

@MrsBrewer: @LindsayInNY: I look like that right now at 8 weeks with this munchkin! I wore that sweater yesterday. It wasn't long enough. I'm still waiting until my ultrasound next week and the 12 week scan/appt to really bust out the maternity clothes. For now, I have drapey shells that hide it well.

Betas came back! 1,419! They were 124 last Thursday. I go back Friday and they want to see them above 2,000 then. Anticipating ultrasound early next week then!

@LindsayInNY: @MrsBrewer: Yalls good news makes me happy!

I'm at a conference, and someone I haven't seen in a while said she wanted to ask me if I had a boob job because I didn't have all this chest last year and my chest looks delicious . My boss's jaw dropped and she had to fight not to laugh. Then the lady said I look awfully pregnant. I told her no I'm just bloated!

  37. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@dc yoga bee: Hahaha at the boobs comment!! But OMG! You're definitely not gonna be able to hide it for too long!!
