@Corduroy: he's antsy, busying himself with other things. usually he's on the road for work by now but he can't go anywhere! not being pregnant and finally meeting baby will be a relief in so many ways.

For non-first time moms, new moms, plan aheaders... I don't want to make a new thread about this since there are a ton already. I don't want to overpack our/my hospital bag. What is necessary, a waste of time to bring, etc.? I feel like I've packed too light right now...
coconut / 8861 posts
@LindsayInNY: I didn't wear a lot of the clothes I packed. J wore hospital clothes home, so going home outfit wasn't important to us. We ate the snacks we brought the most. It helped bridge meal times, baby care, and self care. DH ate during labor, so it was less worrisome as last time. Otherwise, everything else really wasn't used like regular clothes, etc until the end.

@cascademom: It sounds like I'll wear clothes there and home but hospital gown most of the time while I'm there?

@LindsayInNY: I spent 5 days in the hospital! I'll write something up in a bit. I didn't take much, and still feel o overpacked. I ended up switching rooms 3x, and it was a hassle moving everything around!

@LindsayInNY: I packed way too much last time. This time I have an outfit for each of us, basic toiletries, nursing pjs (which are good for having guests), and a camera. I'm pretty sure that's all. Oh, and flip flops. The food options at my hospital are really flexible (kitchen for daytime hours, and a stocked fridge you can access any time), so nothing needed there.

So, unless baby makes a move today or tomorrow we will be inducing tomorrow night!

Ugh I'm having such a hard time today. I know I'm not even past my due date yet, (Friday) but I'm just miserable. I do t want to go to work today because I know I'm going to get the endless comments of "you're still here?!" Why yes, thank you for noticing. Ugh. I can't sleep at night at all, and I was just Hoping since I was at 3cm for 2 weeks now, that something would have happened! I'm just so discourraged

@MrsBrewer: Awe, I know you're miserable. Hang in there momma. You have the right to get real snarky at work at this point
nectarine / 2148 posts
@MrsBrewer: sorry you're so miserable! At the very least you are in good company here. At least you know it had to end soon. Do you have an appoinent coming up? Maybe you will get some good news

@dc yoga bee: I'm trying to think of some clever/snotty responses to say back to my coworkers hahahahaha is that bad??
@Eko: I have an appt tomorrow night at 6, and I'm REALLY hoping she just says "well maybe you should just stay here, and we can induce you!" Wishful thinking though!

@MrsBrewer: I hear ya... I'm nearing the miserable stage and I still have until the end of the month. I can't feel my hands, it's getting worse, I'm constantly sweating, I can't even get comfortable relaxing... I'm trying so hard not to complain but it's tough sometimes. I had a prenatal massage this weekend (first one!) and even that wasn't all that enjoyable. It was like a prenatal rub down.

@LindsayInNY: Awww! Yea this miserable stage isn't fun. I told DH we are one and done LOL LOL LOL I know I'm kidding, but I feel that way right now! And yes to the sweating, it's disgusting....I feel like I sweat like a pig when I'm sleeping and I have no idea why!

@MrsBrewer: that is how I feel about my appointment today! I'm so miserable that I'm hoping they say that my blood pressure is too high and they should just induce me. Lol. Also u would be thinking of nadty comments to say too.
@LindsayInNY: the losing feeling in the hands is the worst. Mine started to get bad over the past couple weeks and the feeling has spread over my whole arms, shoulders, and into my neck. I haven't been dealing with it has long as you have but hope that the feeling doesn't spread outside your hands!

@MrsBrewer: postpartum sweating! I thought I needed to go to the ER, but then Google says its normal LOL!! I'm pretty sure I lost 2lbs!
bananas / 9229 posts
@Eko: Mine started around 18 weeks just overnight. It's since "spread" to both hands, 24/7. It's the worst feeling and I just pray it goes away post-baby.
@MrsBrewer: OMG, yes. I wake up sweating and DH is freezing. Totally normal... And I know it's gonna get worse before it gets better too!

@MrsBrewer: more than me and my edd was may 28th!!
@dc yoga bee: totally normal!! and a big relief. your body cleanses itself any way it can.

@MamaB: Yay! So happy it's finally JUNE!
@LindsayInNY: I can't even think about going all the way to the end of the month! I'm already thinking that she will be here by the third week in June but I know I could just be setting myself up for disappointment.
At least my boss is out most of this week so I'm thinking I need to "work from home" some
Also full moon tomorrow so maybe that will get labor going for some of us!

Ugh I'm getting annoyed. Because of the high blood pressure I went to an ultrasound practice (separate from my OB) to get stress testing done. Everything looked fine but I needed to get lab work done to test for pre-e. The doctor there said that they wanted to have me rest and take it easy unless my labs came back with pre-e. Afterwards I had my normal OB appointment and my normal doctor didn't like that my blood pressure has been consistently high and not really coming down. She also didn't want to wait until tomorrow for the lab results. So, now I'm waiting on some lab results at the hospital. If my blood pressure doesn't come down in the next hour they're talking about possibly inducing me. We shall see.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@Eko: that's kind of how it went down for me. Thinking of you!
@MrsBrewer: I wouldn't say it gets worse, but it's definitely different! It's only happened twice so far, but day 6 postpartum I was shivering cold, yet drenched in sweat. But, like @andthewildones: said, it's normal!

My blood pressure never came down so they are inducing me. They said its standard protocol now past 37w.

@Eko: Eek! Exciting! Can't wait to hear
I had a ton of contractions all through the night. I knew they weren't real, but by morning, they were feeling like they were heading that direction. After a shower, though, they slowed way down. I'd really like another week (or at least another few days) because of my husband's work schedule and some things I need to accomplish, but I still felt a touch disappointed when they spaced back out.

@rpparker: I've been thinking she'll be early for no apparent reason. Maybe just because I'm so active? I walk a lot for work. DH thinks she'll be late. But every little thing, it's like the TWW again, I'm like "could this be a sign of labor?!" I've lost my mind.
@Eko: Good luck!!
apricot / 363 posts
@LindsayInNY: I feel that way too! Maybe because I just cannot even fathom going 3 more weeks!

I'm getting anxious too. I'm so tired from carrying around all this extra weight. I've also been really emotional the last few days. It's like I have PMS! I'm alternating between yelling and crying for no reason
coconut / 8854 posts
Ugh I hate it, for some reason I always tend to get these stupid persistent boils like on my inner thighs right on my underwear line. Well of course I have one right now! It is so painful to walk now with being very pregnant and having this stupid boil. I'm treating it with a warm compress and my essential oils, but I know I just have to wait it out. Man do I feel just like a complainer 24/7 now!!!
@LindsayInNY: yes to comparing it to the TWW!! Everything is a sign in my book!! DH is getting annoyed I think!

@glitterboots: Hugs. Postpartum is the same way. I cried a lot over getting the catheter back in. I cried more over that than supplementing with formula for J. I still have moments where I bawl a lot. I watched Tracy Morgan's first interview since the accident in tears.

@dc yoga bee: I sweat so much in the first day. It was ridiculous. Now, I'm just swollen. It's a good thing that I love wearing Crocs, but I'm super comfortable despite the swelling.

@cascademom: I actually feel better once I wake up after sweating it out.

I had about 10 strangers come up to me yesterday and tell me that the full moon tonight was going to send me into labor today/tonight. Ha!

I had my 38 week appointment today. My fundal height was on 35 cm or something so I was sent for a growth scan just like with LO1. Everything looks fine. Baby measured 7lbs 6oz but I know that could mean anything based on last time. I passed on the cervical check since it wouldn't tell me anything concrete and my imagination would just run wild. I don't have another appointment until next Friday unless baby makes an appearance.
