@Mrs.KMM: wow!! I'm still waiting for J to do that.
@cascademom: that's rough!!does he have any teeth yet? Or would this be his first?
coconut / 8861 posts
@MrsBrewer: It would be his first teeth. He's been gumming for months. It seems to have gotten worse this weekend. The all out screaming in pain seem to mean teeth.

Life has been eventful for us lately. J had a bad night a couple of nights ago. I took off the next day to sleep and regroup. I got a call about pinkeye. We knew it was in his daycare room, but not necessarily him. I got him checked, drops, and spent all day yesterday with him. He tagged along to errands with us. The doc also noticed that two teeth are close to the surface. I mentioned the rolling thing. The doc wasn't worried because "globally" he's on track with milestones. Baby J does roll over, just not for mobility or in bed. He practically flings himself around to see something into tummy time.
Today's my first day without pumping since having him and returning to work. I made it about 8 months which is the same amount of time as his big brother. I'm ready to go to formula and give him my breast milk freezer stash. Here's a pic of my dude from yesterday playing with his brother's toy.

Ellie is officially on the move. She's figured out how to crawl so we've installed gates and are working on baby proofing.

@cascademom: Hope LO feels better soon! glad to hear you made it so far BF. Also super cutie
@Mrs.KMM: aww so cute. That's great she's moving now.
Our house has been just rotating sickness between LO and DS. It's awful. DS went on antibiotics that gave him wicked diarrhea and upset belly, which had him waking up every 2 hours at night. So we took him off early and he's doing a lot better. He is so close to crawling but our house is so nasty I am ok if he waits a couple weeks haha. Things have been crazy as I started a new job this week and are switching insurances which is always a pain in the balls. But the new job means we can buy a house this year when our lease is up, so we've been talking with realtors and loan professionals. However can I get a hallelujah for tax returns this year!!!
W's fav thing is playing the piano. He loves classical music too, not sure how this will play out when he gets older.

Ellie has been crawling for a while and with. 3 dogs I feel like no matter how much I clean there's always hair on the floor! Poor Ellie is like a little swiffer lol. She is now starting to walk with her push toys and cruising on the furniture. She's able to stand up for a litle bit on her own when she feels like it. It's so stressful! I'm constantly chasing her around the house trying to make her sit down and play with her toys. She's in to everything. Her favorite thing to do is open the one kitchen cabinet that's not locked and play with the pots and pans.. Hope she takes her time learning how to walk!

@Eko: so cute! Glad he's feeling better and yay for house shopping! It's stressful but fun!
@hocuspocus: our Ellie is always in dog hair too! Our lab mix sheds like crazy. Love her smile in the mirror picture!

Ellie got 2 teeth last night! She was being a bit fussy despite having just napped and eaten so I wondered if she might be getting sick or teething. I felt both her gum lines and didn't feel anything but I gave her a frozen teether to play with anyway. And this morning there were 2 teeth broken through on the bottom!

@Mrs.KMM: I think it's funny how quickly they break through. I'm still at a loss on teeth until they break through. We are really looking forward to not renting. We have to move out when our lease is up and rent prices are the same or more than mortgages so it'll be a welcome change.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@Eko: How long until your lease is up? Do you have a while to look for houses or is it going to have to be a pretty quick search?
nectarine / 2148 posts
@Mrs.KMM: Our lease is up at the end of August. Our hurdle is coming up with the down payment. We used the majority of our savings for the baby. We didn't think we would be able to buy a house until next year, but after talking with a loan broker and getting a new job it is actually attainable. Plus, with getting a decent tax return this year we should be in good shape. Our apartment really is no longer fitting our needs and is turning really crappy and we would hate to pay moving costs, etc. just to rent another year.
ETA: It is going to be a very quick search I have a feeling. The market moves really quickly here, plus we won't have the money for a down payment until summer anyway.

Can I just saw that I've already started thinking about first birthday parties (as we are doing it Memorial Day weekend). Then I'm like holy shit it's going to be first birthdays!
Anyone else feel the same?

@Eko: same here! DH thinks I'm crazy, but it's only 4ish mos away?! Can't believe how big all our babies are! He's so adorable always smiling

@hocuspocus: ditto! But as we are doing puts Memorial Day weekend we wanted to send invites out early to give people plenty of notice. Plus I am heading into busy season at work so if I don't start thinking about it now I will fall behind.

A couple days late but Ellie is 8 months old! Where has the time gone?!? DD did get diagnosed with a mild case of HFM today so that's been fun. Hoping she feels better soon!
@Eko: @hocuspocus: OMG! I haven't even thought about 1st birthdays yet. I need to figure out when we're going to do Ellie's because we'll be flying back from vacation on her birthday.

@Mrs.KMM: I hope she feels better soon!! That sounds like no fun. W is getting more teeth so he's been a complete nightmare at nighttime for the past few days. Is that what they decided the blisters were from?
Are you going to celebrate her birthday while on vacation? I absolutely hate rushing around last minute for things. And while we won't do something obnoxious for his birthday, we want friends and family to celebrate with us.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@Eko: Yeah – she had a couple more blisters Monday morning so I took her in. And the pediatrician said it was HFM.
We'll probably do something small on vacation for her birthday because we will be with both sets of grandparents. But we'll be at a resort in the Dominican Republic so I still want to do a party when we get home where she can do the cake smash and stuff like that.

@Mrs.KMM: poor thing with HFM! But those legs!!! Ahh I could just eat up all those rolls! I love it!!!

Ellie Rose turned 8mos yesterday!
-I really need a new phone, the camera on this one sucks, but here's a couple pictures of her taking her baby on a little stroll. (This was after she attempted to eat her 8mo sticker) lol

Such cute pics!!
I just got back from a work trip last night. I was gone Monday morning before DD woke up until last night (she was already in bed). First time away from her period and it had to be that long! She's getting her first tooth but it hasn't broken through yet. She's just fussy and off and I can see the white on the bottom. Still EBF which I'm so proud of given how hard it was at the beginning! And starting to crawl. It's flying by!!

Hiii!! Hope everyone is doing well. M is 8.5months, crawling like a mad woman, and starting to stand! We are finally starting to think about maybe trying for number two in the fall!
coconut / 8854 posts
@dc yoga bee: Look at all that beautiful hair!!! Does she pull up on her own? I've noticed with J that she will stand but I have to prop her up on something, and she isn't crawling yet either.
apricot / 373 posts
@MrsBrewer: crawling like cray, pulling herself up on anything and everything and furniture cruising. She walks with the little push toys too! It's insane and super scary lol. she's constantly falling.
coconut / 8854 posts
@hocuspocus: awww!! I'm so nervous for that phase!!! It's like I want to encourage mobility, but the learning stages scare me!

@dc yoga bee: OMG! So freakin cute. We're thinking about another little one soon! I want Ellie to have a sibling close in age. Is it crazy I'm thinking of names already?
coconut / 8854 posts
@hocuspocus: @dc yoga bee: yay more babies!!! DH and I have been trying, to no avail so far....boo.
grapefruit / 4770 posts
@MrsBrewer: oh yes, she stands up on her own! She's working on being able to just stand without holding onto anything. It happened overnight. She's still not eating solids, so it's hard on me to keep EBF. We've made it 8.5 months, and I may need to supplement soon.
@hocuspocus: not weird! I already told DH I want to be team green next time. And future name has to start with a M like M lol. But, there aren't any boy names that start with M that we like!

Hello! I am new here. I haven't read this whole post but wanted to join in the conversation! My daughter, Ella, was born June 30 last year. She is my first. Lately, she is constantly on the move. She is crawling and standing up using furniture. She is not sleeping through the night, but we are working on night weening right now. I plan on reading through some of this post later tonight once Ella goes to sleep! So excited to be here!

@MrsBrewer: We already have set on names for LO2 and we aren't even ttc yet!
@schubr03: Welcome!!! What a cutey

@MrsBrewer: Out of curiosity what names have you thought of? I LOVE coming up with names. haha.

@MrsBrewer: @Eko: Thank y'all! My MIL always makes mean comments that her hair is wild, but I promise we brush it, and put hair bands on her. She just pulls them out, and her hair does what it wants. And, who hates on a baby??
@schubr03: Welcome! Look at those gorgeous eyes! And I love her name too

@MrsBrewer: @DC yoga bee: I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one thinking about babies already! We are thinking about trying for our second in the fall, as well!

@schubr03: welcome!! Your baby girl is a doll. So pretty!
DD is staying with MIL all night tonight. I'm with her 24/7 so this is really weird for me lol. This is the first time anyone has ever watched her and it's going to be over night. I know she's in good hands but is it normal for me to feel anxious? I don't know what to do with myself! Lol
apricot / 486 posts
@hocuspocus: thank you! I had my first overnight away from DD recently. It was nerve-racking but it went okay. I did end up waking up a few times at night just out of habit. You'll be okay though! I just kept telling myself, this is good for us! She's in good hands!
