@starlitsky: congrats!!! Glad he is finally here! Pushing is so hard, and 1.5 hours is no walk in the park! Enjoy getting to know your sweet baby!

@starlitsky: YAY!!! So glad he's finally here! You are a rockstar - that was the longest labour but I am sure he is so worth every second of it. Enjoy the newborn snuggles and congratulations!

Anyone want to talk postpartum, nursing, bottles, pump, baby sleep, etc?
My new love for witch hazel is real.
My areolas are bigger than the palm of my hand and baby A's mouth is just not that big even though she is "big baby"-- got some nipple cream and using nipple shields (mostly during the day) until I can either figure it out or she can grow bigger.
And OMG if I don't wake up twice a night to freaking EAT. I'm freaking starving!

At the hospital now waiting to dilate enough to push. I got an epidural this time and it is a whole new world!

@pastemoo: postpartum this time has been a dream! I wish it was like this for everyone! My only complaint is sleep, she only gives us 2.5-3.5 hour stretches at night and is super grunty and has a bit of reflux, but I've just started bedsharing to help me get more sleep. I'm loving this whole second baby thing so far it's been so much easier and doesn't feel like much has changed. I'm trying to remember when the dreaded witching hour starts! She is 3 weeks tomorrow and super chill, so hoping it isn't too brutal when it starts!

I've been meaning to update: Baby Nate was born 6/7/16 at 11:31pm My c section went smoothly and baby weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz.

Jeremiah Eli was born at 8:14 am with literally 3 pushes.
We were there over night (went in at 10 pm) so I'm pretty tired. They overdid it on the epidural because it wasn't covering both sides well so I'm still a little numb. It was a really strange (but good) delivery for me since my first was non medicated and pretty traumatic and painful.

Thanks everyone! I was so anxious about this labor, I am happy to have that part behind me.
@mrskrb: hopefully you're next!
@purpledaisy: Thank you.! And congrats as well.
The June babies are starting to come!

@pastemoo: only a few hours in but man those breastfeeding contractions! The only time I think about asking for Motrin so far is when I'm feeding him.
grapefruit / 4418 posts
@brownepiano: omg the contractions were so much more painful with #2! But, they didn't last as long - I hardly had any once I left the hospital. I swear I needed an epidural for them!
nectarine / 2973 posts
@brownepiano: I had such horrible breastfeeding contractions this time. I was on ibuprofen and Percocet from my c section and they were still killing me. Thankfully they have let up a lot now. The first three days were the worst.

@MrsKRB: I realize I never posted this, baby Ari (pronounced like "airy"), 8# 20.25" Med free VBAC (well, lidocaine for stitches). Accidentally (and thankfully) showed up at the hospital complete. Water broke on their own at hospital with first push. 48 minutes of pushing. Still struggling with latch but otherwise doing well.

@pastemoo: congrats! My son has the same name (but with an e on the end) but pronounced like are-ee!

@pastemoo: @Purpledaisy: yes would love a postpartum thread!!
@Purpledaisy: congrats!! What a cutie and glad your C section went well!
@brownepiano: wow 3 pushes! How much did he weigh and how long did you push for your first LO?
Can't wait for more June babies!!
persimmon / 1467 posts
@starlitsky: He weighed 7 lb 14 oz. His brother was 8 lb 5 oz and took about the same amount of pushes. But with the last one transition and labor were intense and involved a lot of screaming. This one I was completely numb and falling asleep between contractions.

@starlitsky: we may have a big drought on new babies! It looks like most of the regular posters left aren't due until the 20s besides @MrsKRB:

@catomd00: I just have to smile ....we get 20 minute to 40 minutes stretches between night feedings on a good night. Enjoy your 2.5 hours!!!!!
@Purpledaisy: oh he is precious!!! Congrats :smile;
@brownepiano: congrats!!! 3 pushes sounds amazing!!! Love the name
@pastemoo: great name! I'm still struggling with latch too....especially my boy twin -- he's smaller.
