This pregnancy we've decided to tell our friends and families that our baby will be born in "mid to late September" rather than giving a specific date. Has anyone has success at doing this? What do you think the pros and cons are?
Personally, I am trying my hardest this time around to not get attached to a specific date and to let this baby come when it comes. For me, a huge part of that is not saying the date over and over again to everyone and their mother. I've explained this to my mom and she's just not getting it; she keeps saying, "Did they give you a due date yet?" To which I explain (again) that I know exactly how far along I am, but I'm being intentionally (but not maliciously), vague because I want to protect myself from getting to attached to a certain date and to give this baby a chance to come when it wants to.
Has anyone successfully kept the due date under wraps for the most part? What were your reasons and do you have any advice?
People want to know the date because they're excited, too!
