@shopaholic: Thinking of you! An induction does not ahtomatically mean a c-section is more likely. I thought the same thing but delivered a healthy baby vaginally, even with needing every tick in the book to progress labor. Listen to the doctors and try to rest, I know that's hard but I wish I did before my induction. I was so stressed out about it which made L&D harder on my body.

I had a very positive induction at 38 weeks. I really liked my birth experience, they induced me using Cytotec, and it took about 12 hours start to finish. They only used pictocin to help the placenta out. Induction doesn't always mean a ton of interventions and a c-section! Good luck, looking forward to seeing your birth story soon!

So sorry to hear you're in the hospital. But I agree with mrs jacks, listen to your doctors. Every mom, baby and labor situation is different. Educate yourself but your doctors know your situation best. I strongly believe they will have your and baby's safety as number one priority.

Oh mama, thinking of you guys. Remember, you are in the care of amazingly educated people and they have your and LO's best interest at heart. Good luck, can't wait to 'meet' Baby Shopaholic!

@shopaholic: omg!!!! I totally missed this thread because I've been sick and not on the 'bee. Thinking of you today... wondering how you are doing!!! Are you having a baby?!??!
1cm is GREAT! My induction didn't involve anything but pitocin and breaking of waters (which didn't happen for a few hours) and it went incredibly smoothly, not ever talk of a C section, short labor and quick delivery! And super healthy baby!! Of course that was my second so my body was a little more prepped to deliver a baby than it would have been if it were my first. But 1cm dilated is a great sign! I was not dilated at ALL with Wagon Jr. until I went into labor naturally. And it was a LONG hard labor.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh baby shopaholic will be here soon no matter what!!

I had low amniotic fluid because my water broke unexpectedly at 34 weeks. They tried to stop my contractions but LO had plans of his own and showed up within 24 hours. I hope you are doing good and sounds like you will meet your LO very soon!!!

Just wanted to pop in with a quick update and to say THANKS for all the support! 24 hrs and 5 IV bags later, I'm getting discharged with fluid levels up to 7! Scheduled for another NST tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the support and stories last night! Definitely helped while I was so uncomfortable last night!

Glad your fluid is ok! Hope you get the birth you want, and IMO the closer to 40 wks, the better, even where you are now.
