@Mrs. Lion: See I want to say the same thing about my hospital!! Thanks for the encouragement

@Mrs. Rabbit: I thought I remembered you switching and being very happy with your decision. I hope you get a kick soon, too. That seems so far off to me!!

@loopedd: my old practice delivers at a hospital that is 45 minutes away... with a police escort. I really didn't want to get stuck in traffic and end up with a bridge baby so I switched to a much smaller practice and so far I really like it. The downside is that they don't do nearly as may ultrasounds or visits... which is why I cracked and made an app with an elective-US place for tomorrow morning to find out the gender!

I am soooo excited! I will literally be exactly 16 weeks and they have a monetary gender guarantee-- but really, the truth is I feel like I deserve this treat because my right arm is in a cast... and its still a bit miserable. At least that's what I've told my husband

@loopedd: i hope you can too! They took such good care of us. Lo was in the nicu for a week and they found us a room in an unused wing so that we could stay until he was discharged, at no cost. When scary stuff happens its good to have people you trust that have your back.

@Mrs. Lion: Absolutely - plan for the worst, hope for the best, right? I'm so glad they took good care of you!

@AnneBird: AHHH that's so cool!! You DO deserve it, cast or no cast. I love that the elective places aren't really that expensive and have the guarantee ... I think it's totally worth it. We don't have a lot of plans this weekend and DH wants to go to one, actually. Let us know how it goes!

I apologize now for telling you all this, but Old Navy is having a pretty decent sale right now on a lot of their clothes. I just spent way too much, but yay for new maternity clothes on the way!!

I am so thankful right now that i dont know the gender of this baby. I am 99% sure this baby is a girl and the urge to buy girl stuff has been very strong haha.

I'ts a boy!!! And we are thrilled! I can't wait to buy tiny boy outfits!

@AnneBird: Congrats!!! So excited for you. Get to shopping!!

@Mrs. Rabbit: Clothes shopping for me is on the list today! We just realized that there's a Motherhood Maternity Outlet about an mile from our house. Sorry, wallet!

@Mrs. Lion: The urge to buy everything is so strong with me. I have to keep reminding myself that there will be a shower… and plenty of stuff!

@AnneBird: A little boy that's so exciting!! Congrats!

I keep looking at baby clothes and want to buy them so bad, it's gonna kill me to not know what this baby is until it's born!! Probably good for my wallet though!

Does anyone else have the problem where the top of the belly panel on maternity pants is too big? It's fine over my belly but too wide at the waist. I didn't notice it when I tried them on but it makes a weird lump under all my shirts and drives me crazy. Did I just get crappy pants? Maybe I need a demi panel.

@Aria: This is why I stick with low panel. I hate fold down pants and the full panel didnt fit until 3rd trimester

@AnneBird: congrats!! I just attended a baby shower for a little boy today and you have lots of cute to look forward to!

@Aria: yes me! The full panel jeans I bought fit everywhere except the place where the denim meets the panel... It's so baggy! I tried wearing them with the panel folded down once, but had to adjust it all day long. Right now I'm most comfortable in my pre-preg jeans with a belly band, and I'm loving maternity tanks, but think I need to go find a comfy Demi panel pair and then just be done.

So after I told DH about @Annebird: finding out, he was so excited and made us an appointment at an elective u/s place for TODAY. We went and it was a blast -- and I have another to add to our list!!! I was worried I would be disappointed with a boy, but I truly am not a bit. I am just so thrilled to know!!

As for maternity clothes, I bought a LOT today and I agree about them fitting oddly for now. I tried them on with the fake belly and that was SO fun -- I can't wait to look like that!!

@loopedd: That's crazy that you went in today!! Congrats on your little boy!! Also I agree trying on clothes with that fake belly is so surreal. I can't believe I'll be that big!

You guys are making me feel huge! Full panel jeans totally fit me right now. The ones I wore when I was pregnant with Liam are too big, but I started out bigger and I bought those toward the end. I bought a pair in my current size from Old Navy and they aren't baggy at all. I love them! I just ordered another pair in black. I think they are way more comfortable than the demi panel ones or wearing my pre pregnancy jeans with a belly band.

So happy for all of you finding out the gender! You're making me excited for my anatomy scan!

@mrs. tictactoe: ditto. I can't even think about what I'm going to look like (and wear) in the months to come! Lol I just bought a new pair of ON full-panel yoga pants today since I'll most likely wear those the most in the third tri.

@mrs. tictactoe: full panel fits me too They're kinda big in the butt but I think that's just the style of the ones that I have. I hated the demi panel ones, they make my belly look weird. I'm so pumped that the majority of this pregnancy is in the cooler months and I don't have to wear the full panel in the middle of the summer!

@loopedd: that's crazy you got in today! Congrats on the boy! You guys are making Sept 23 seem reallllllly far away haha.

@mrs. tictactoe: I'm rocking full panels too. I'm almost as big as a friend who is giving birth to number 2 in a few weeks. I still have a waist, but everything has grown in the other direction.

I just got back from a week of camping, and no morning sickness! I thought maybe that time was over, but no luck. Now that I am home it's back to the old pattern... What gives? Today is 15w so I guess I might still have a few more weeks of this.

I am going to a wedding this weekend and am at a total loss on what to wear. I don't have a cute bump yet but my waist is total gone. Most of my dresses are fitted. I guess I should find something smocky? This is such a weird stage to try to dress. None of my old cloths fit right. Every day is guess work and I have our together so odd outfits.

@mrs. tictactoe: @Mrs. Rabbit: @MrsB2012: @Mrs. Detour: Add me to the list of Feb. mamas who love the full panels! The lower panels just make me look lumpy

  28. Mrs. Lion

    blogger / grapefruit / 4836 posts

Haha the full panel may be a big booty issue. To get pants big enough for my butt the waist is always a little too big, and the full panel just makes it worse

  29. mrs. tictactoe

    blogger / pomegranate / 3201 posts

@Mrs. Lion: well, I have a pretty big booty, so... Who knows. I doubt the full panel pants I'm wearing now will fit in the third trimester, though. I tend to gain all over when pregnant, not just belly and boobs.

  30. Mrs. Rabbit

I have that stupid early glucose test tomorrow and I'm nervous/freaking out. I passed the last time I was pregnant, but I'm just worried about it this time. Ugh. Hopefully I'll get the results fast...I just want to rip the band-aid off. On the bright side, Julia will be at the sitter, so I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure after it's over.

@Mrs. Rabbit: Good luck with your test tomorrow!

And after complaining about my full panel pants, I actually bought a new pair with a full panel that fit so much better. I think it was just the type of fabric the panel was made of.

16 weeks today and I CAN'T WAIT until my appointment on Friday! Nothing exciting is happening at the appointment, but I will get to make my anatomy scan date! Thank goodness for Labor Day weekend making this week shorter so I don't have to wait as long

@Mrs. Rabbit: Good luck & enjoy the pedi! That sounds lovely

@Circusbee: I have a very similar appointment on Thursday! Anxious to see when they will schedule my anatomy scan. I'll be 17 weeks on the dot on Thursday, and I'm on a 4-week appointment schedule, but 4 weeks from Thursday I'll be at the beach! I'm hopeful they'll let me come in right at 20 weeks for the scan, so I won't have to wait an extra-long time...

  36. Circusbee

    apricot / 390 posts

@HeartAbandoned: Yeah, I hope I'm able to schedule the anatomy scan between 18-20 weeks, no later! I'm planning to take a half day off work for the scan, so I will hopefully be able to just take their first available slot! I hope you get a good appointment before you go to the beach!

@Mrs. Rabbit: Good luck with the glucose test! Fingers crossed for you

@Circusbee: @HeartAbandoned: I would go to the doctor every day if they let me I never thought I'd say that!!

We did sooooo much work on the future nursery this weekend, I'm SO proud. Purged 6 moving boxes of books and DVDs and cleaned out the closet to make room for baby things. We still have lots of furniture to get rid and lots to buy, but progress is being made! We actually got a crib, too! I noticed that the one I wanted was discontinued, so we went to BRU and snatched up the last one in the store. It hasn't made it in from the car yet, though. Baby steps!

  38. Circusbee

    apricot / 390 posts

@loopedd: Oh yeah, I forgot we did a very small amount of work in the nursery yesterday too! All we did was move my office furniture out and into my new, tinier office space. But now that that's out of the way, I'm going to start moving all the little things in there, and then we will get started with the trim and wallpaper removal! DH wants to go visit some friends for a couple of "guy weekends" over the next few months, and I said that's fine, but I want the nursery painted and all the trim finished before that, so he got very motivated to get it all finished!

I PASSED THE GLUCOSE TEST!! Sorry for screaming I was shocked that they told me the results right away, and that all they did was prick my finger. In Italy they drew my blood and then i didn't hear back until the next day. Here, it was within a matter of seconds after the hour passed by! So happy. I celebrated by getting a pedicure and a cupcake, naturally

thanks for all the good vibes, ladies
