@Circusbee: This is exactly how I feel. Starving, nothing seems good, then when I find something tasty, the minute I start eating I'm too full. I don't know if it's the hormones or the baby taking up the space my stomach used to fill.

I'm finally able to feel baby movements more regularly and it's the best thing ever. I'm dying for them to get strong enough for my husband to feel them too. Second time moms, when could your partners feel the baby kick?

With the cool weather (that I am actually enjoying) my fall allergies have arrived. I usually take an herbal supplement and I think it helps, but I am not sure what to do now. Do any of you ladies have recommendations?

Also totally feeling the hungry but full easily thing. I have been so grateful to have an appetite again. I am still struggling a little bit but finally back at my pre pregnancy weight at almost 17w.

@ndepet: Annnd now my baby's movement has decreased. I catch a little "blump" here and there, but I'm just hoping it's growing and taking naps to conserve energy. Did your movement pick back up?

@maddyz: I've had horrible allergies ever since moving to Georgia, and my OB told me to take Claritin. There's another one that's fine to take (Zyrtec, I believe?), but Claritin personally works a little better for me. Doesn't help all the way, but since I can't take Allegra, it'll have to do.

    @mtex14: YAY for a girl!!!!

Another post today reminded me that I still haven't done anything about finding daycare... has anyone here started researching or decided yet? I really have no idea how far ahead I should be looking, or even if I'll need it, which is why I'm dragging my feet.

  13. Beanie132

@Circusbee: my husband is doing a preliminary interview with one on monday, a friend told me weeks ago to start looking and i finally got around to it last week and suffice it to say we are doing drop in visits next week because we have learned about the extensive wait lists at some of these places. this is in no ways meant to scare you...just the reality here I guess....

  14. Circusbee

    apricot / 390 posts

@Beanie132: Yeah, I know it mostly depends on the location, some cities have multiple-year wait lists, and some only require a couple months or so... I just don't know what it's like around here. I will ask a few coworkers who I know use daycare what they recommend. It's just one of the parts of parenthood I'm really not excited about.

@Circusbee: thats what my husband did he did an interoffice email to 245+ officers and other city employees who all have to live within 25 miles of the station so it was actually quite helpful as many of their responses where geographically relevant

Had a lot of bleeding when I got home. Totally freaked out, went to the doctor, everything is ok. I was crying a lot. Placenta abruption, I think it's called. Lost of rest for the next few days. So scary!

@Circusbee: I began my childcare search last week by randomly dropping by an in-home daycare that is a block down from where I live. It was totally awkward, but at least I started!

I'm sorry I don't post more, ladies! I do check in a couple times a week!

So, I'm 18w6d with my second and I am STILL not feeling consistent movement. It's driving me crazy! I felt movement back around 14-15 weeks, but now....basically nothing. I think I felt kicks last Thursday after a long, tiring day of (light) physical labor, but nothing since. My anatomy scan is about 10 days away, and I can't help by be nervous! My doctor wasn't concerned at all at my last check, and didn't seem to think that I *should* be feeling early, since it's my second. Maybe I had gotten my hopes up about early movement with 2nd babies? But maybe that doesn't happen to everyone?

Anyone else not feeling consistent movement yet with your second?

  24. marzipan

@Circusbee: like others have said, it really depends upon your location. With our son, I didn't do much research till he was a couple months old (for an 11-12 week start), but we've moved to a more competitive area, so we'll be putting a deposit down after our anatomy scan. It's crazy!

@mrs. tictactoe: Just saw your bleeding scare -- I am so, so sorry you're dealing with that. Hoping you had a nice restful weekend!

As for childcare, I visited a daycare center that I really liked over the summer and I think that's the plan. I thought it was strange though that we can't put down a deposit under after the baby is born! They seemed fairly confident that it wouldn't be a problem to get a spot next summer, but I was still surprised they thought I was looking soooo early, esp in the NYC metro area!

I clearly shop too much. So, in today's Kohl's ad, there's a coupon inside for $10 off baby or maternity clothes. It says on there that you need to spend $30 or more, but my total rang up around $25; she scanned the coupon and it still worked. So, that brought my price down to $15. Then I saved an additional 15% because I used my kohl's card (could've been more, but I didn't get a higher percentage scratch-off). Totally scored two maternity outfits (a sweater/tunic and a dress) for $13, saving a whopping $71!!! I'm pretty darn excited about my finds! Moral of this post—get yourself to Kohl's ASAP (coupon said it's only good today and tomorrow)

@marzipan: I'm totally with you on feeling this baby move. It's not consistent at all and it's driving me crazy. I have my appt. on Wednesday and I'm hoping it'll calm my nerves.

So, the bleeding was almost gone by Satyrday morning. It was completely gone by Sunday morning. Very thankful for that. I'm still really nervous, though, and am going to call today to ask for a referral to a specialist to monitor the placenta and baby's growth. I was feeling her move a lot on Friday and Saturday, but less yesterday and today. I think I might also be second guessing movements now, whereas before I wasn't. I just want everything to be ok!!

@Kbee: so excited for you sweetie! What's your instinct telling you?

We had our fetal survey today and stuck with we're not sure of we have the will power to not know for another 20 weeks, but the suspense is fun for now. Did anyone else have zero intuition?

The baby is now measuring about 10 days ahead of schedule so the MFM team is going to talk with my OB about adjusting my due date or at least bringing me back later to make sure the baby isn't becoming too large.

@MrsMccarthy: @loopedd: thank you! I have been thinking boy all along, but I really have no idea!

@mrs. tictactoe: so glad to hear the bleeding is gone! I'm sure it will be nice to have a specialist making sure everything is okay.

@Mrs. Detour: wow 10 days ahead! Were you originally team green to start with?

There's a lot to catch up on from over the weekend!

@mrs. tictactoe: I'm so sorry about your bleeding scare, and I'm glad that it stopped! I hope some extra monitoring from a specialist will give you peace of mind.

@marzipan: I'm not feeling movement consistently either, although I discovered one night I couldn't sleep that the baby is mostly active really late at night (like 1/2 am) and then pretty much nothing during the day, so I'm probably just missing it most of the time.

@Kbee: Yay for anatomy scans! Can't wait to find out what you're having!

@Mrs. Rabbit: You've gotten some awesome deals! I wish there was a Kohl's nearby, I need some basics.

@Mrs. Detour: I'm impressed that you managed to stay team green. My husband really wants to be but I'd like to know and it will be so hard to turn down the opportunity at our scan in a couple weeks. I also have zero intuition about what this baby could be. My husband is convinced boy and my parents are convinced girl. One of them will be right!

@Kbee: How was your anatomy scan?!! (or is it later today? I may be jumping the gun!)

@Mrs. Detour: So exciting that you're waiting to find out!!
