@LAZB: That's exciting! Can you please explain the different scans to me? I am so confused. My a OB said I will be coming back in at 12 weeks for an ultrasound followed by testing (if I want) and then 20 weeks for an ultrasound and more testing (if I want.) What are they testing for and how to they do the tests?

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Nausea has fully kicked into high gear over here, unfortunately. How's everyone else feeling?? I am still craving guacamole every minute of the day and my belly is growing! All you second time (or more) mama's do you plan on telling sooner than the first time around? I just feel like there's no way I am going to be able to hide this until I am 12 weeks.

It was from our trip to Greece.
The NT scan and testing that I'm doing (I think it is actually called first trimester screening) is when they do the ultrasound measurements and bloodwork to detect odds for a few different conditions, specifically Down Syndrome and different trisomies. The place that I am going also offers an additional blood test for $150 that will tell you gender.
The 20 week u/s is the anatomy scan. During that one they measure all sorts of different parts and can determine if there are any issues with the heart, liver, kidneys, etc. Sometimes issues will show up during this u/s, but will resolve later in pregnancy, but sometimes they are larger issues that may cause problems in the pregnancy or for the baby after birth. If I could only get one, I would choose the 20 week scan, but I'm an advocate of preparing for as much as possible, so I'm getting both.
I am by no means an expert though, so I may be missing something if anyone else wants to chime in! -
@BlessedMama: I've already told some people, and I think I'll tell more people earlier this time around, mostly because I'm already sporting a noticeable blump. I told one of my employees today, and he said that he "had his suspicions" haha, so I guess I'm not fooling anybody.

I'm here at my first MD appt. I'm so nervous.
I ordered my first two pairs of maternity pants BC my jeans are no linger cutting it. They are uber comfortable. Got two on ON last week for $25 with shipping. I thought why not! Now I need a few pair of shorts.

I'm 7 weeks today! So nervous for my scan and so ready! First thing tomorrow AM! Please be a leaky gummy bear I'm there. If my current nausea is any indication I feel hopeful.

Had my first appointment this morning and all is looking good. We didn't get a copy of the US pic to share, but he confirmed there's ONE healthy baby in there. Can't wait to get a better US next month!

So my next appointment is my NT Scan and genetic bloodwork on September 2nd! 5 days before my sons birthday and ill be 12 weeks on the spot. We are getting the MarerniT21 so I should have gender results about a week or so after the test when results come back.. I'm so excited. They let me make all of my appointments through November which was nice.

I'm a little late to the party but I didn't join the first time around so I figured I'd do it this time!
EDD: March 24th, 2015
How far along: 6 weeks + 2 days
First child? Nope, we have a 9 month old. Ahh!!
First doctor appointment: Aug. 19th
Any symptoms so far? Just tiredness but that could be from having a 9 month old.
Who have you told? My husband is the only one who knows. It's been hard but we'd like to wait until atleast 8 weeks to tell our families.
It happened a lot quicker this time than it did the first but my husband and I are both very excited. We'd love our little boy to have a brother but will obviously be ecstatic whatever the gender. Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy for all the March mamas!

EDD changed to March 6. HR was 160 bpm
Next appointment 8/13 with my OB, then NT scan on 8/18. It finally feels real! Baby even moved during the u/s! And measured perfectly on my dates, thank you charting and temping
Great way to come home from vacation!

Finally have an appointment... With the OB coordinator on 8/20. Nothing fun there, just labs and paperwork. Hopefully I'll see my doc either that week or the next. I also have a feeling this will be an April EDD.

And at 5.5 weeks, pregnancy has kicked in and I am feeling decidedly average! I managed to escape morning sickness with Miss A but I seem to have evening sickness with this wee bub, blurgh.
On a lighter note my dating scan has been booked for the 11th!

I've tried to find baby's heartbeat twice (9w and 9w2d), and no luck so far. I don't have another appointment until the 11th, sure hope I can find it before then!
