Due date was actually today. So far I've got nothing - no mucus, no blood, no cramps. Enjoying the last moments as a family of three.

Well at this point I'm taping my legs closed for the next 36 hours. I'd rather not have a st pattys day baby.

I started having really bad lower back pain that as coming every 2 mins for 30 second counts at a time..then I managed to fall asleep throughout the night and now nothing..😑I have a feeling it will be late tonight/tomorrow. My due date is tomorrow but I was hoping to avoid st pattys day since it's the 1 holiday I don't give 2 shits about.

@Pinkberrry: I just don't want a guaranteed extra drunk son on his birthday every year!

    Keep us posted!!

@Pinkberrry: @oskarsmommy: I was upset after my appointment yesterday because I had made no progress but this morning I had pink tinged mucus! Contractions seem to be closer together and a bit stronger than normal but I'm still at work trying to finish up. I am past the point of caring if it's a St. Patty's day baby, pretty sure they will party/drink if their bday is anywhere close anyways LOL

Well little E arrived this morning She's a chubster at 8.5lb. Almost two pounds heavier than my first!

We went for a long walk yesterday night and contractions started at 9 (I thought they were more awful Braxton Hicks). They stayed 10 minutes apart until 5 when they ramped to 7 minutes and even longer. I woke DH to get the babysitter at 6:30 and by the time he got back, they were less than 3 minutes! We got to the hospital and I was already at an 8 Guess I'm better at handling pain than I thought! They pulled the doctor out of the beginning of a c-section to give me a speedy epidural and baby was born an hour later. No tears, just a little bruising. Next time I'm heading in as soon as they're under 10 minutes apart

I had my sweet baby Oliver, Tuesday March 21 at 11:28 am. He came fast and furiously. I looked back at my texts messages, I texted my doula at 9am that day saying I didn't see this labor going too fast, as I had on and off period like contractions since about 4 am that morning with no real pattern. Once my in-laws left, and my son was taken to school, my labor picked up real fast, contractions two minutes apart, painful, but manageable. With my son he was sunny side up, so I was waiting for the pain to get more intense before we left. Around 10:45 the contractions started ramping up and I started crying, telling. My husband and doula I was scared (transition). Contractions did get more intense, but not like I remember with my son. Then my water broke. Shit got real. We took my pants off and my doula was calm, but firm, and said we gotta get there fast. I walked out of my house in a towel, and holy shit did things happen fast. The contractions from my water being broken, and being in the car were hell. I started just wailing through them, dropping lots of f bombs, and kind of roaring like a wild animal. They were 1 min apart. The hospital was 10 mins away, but I started screaming "he is coming". My husband almost pulled over but I had the clarity of mind to tell him to keep going - but I could literally see the baby descending in my belly. I started to get really scared. They decided to pull into the ER entrance, and they got me on a gurney, this is when I was crowning. I was wheeled through the ER, into an elevator up to maternity, pretty much screaming the whole time. I pray that no one in that waiting room thought I was like a car accident patient or something. - my husband said people were freaked out. Literally the second we got in I the L&D room my body just started bearing down, I didn't push at all. It felt like I was throwing up, out the other end. I think that happened twice, and he was out.

All in all it was a bit more dramatic than I would have liked, but I am relieved that everything worked out. We are home now, and adjusting to life with 2 kids, but we love our sweet boy so mo much! Attaching a pic from my birth - was so nice to go through this pregnancy with all of you ladies!

@oskarsmommy: Wow! First off that picture is amazing, it looks like it belongs in a magazine or something. Secondly that's a crazy story! Was your doula with you at your house?

  32. oskarsmommy

    kiwi / 625 posts

@MrsB2012: yes - she was also a photographer - thus the pics. She was a life save. She made us leave, and kept implying we might wanna go sooner. Without her we would have called 911 for a home delivery!

I tried to labor at home as long as I could with my first but these last 2 birth stories have me thinking I should go to the hospital sooner rather than later once I start feeling contractions!

    kiwi / 625 posts

@Beth24: if I had it to do over again, as beautiful and intimate the first part was (just there three of us - not a million people in my face asking questions, etc) I would have left earlier for sure I essentially had a home birth with a hospital delivery - as I had zero monitoring or anything. And I will say, there is something to be said for that. I now kinda get home birth - though I'm not sure I'd ever have the balls to do it. Even after what I lived through!
