My friend made this beautiful blanket for Baby Girl! I love it, cause I love handmade things, but this one really looks like it took soo much work! it's soft, too, and sparkly, which you can't see really from the photo, but it's pretty amazing

So I am still here and even though HB looks good they decided to check my fluids and I was borderline soooo.... I get to stay in the hospital overnight and get hooked up to an IV. Not how I was planning to spend this gorgeous Saturday. I seriously thought, we heard the HB, yay, let's go to lunch! Now I'm just here to get pumped with fluids and on call doc has yet to be seen still and we've been here over 2 hrs. I feel like if baby is fine I'd rather just drink a ton of water and be at home. I know it's just for our sake but I know I gave ZERO indications of labor so far so it seems silly to stay overnight.
Era: so I looked up some info and I guess my fluid level was pretty low at 5. Hooked up to the IV now and just staying in bed I guess for the rest of the night.

@shopaholic: bummer. Best that you are getting the fluids even though you want to be home.

@katiew92081: pretty!! I love the two handmade ones we received too. They are much smaller then yours though.
@shopaholic: drink plenty of water along with the iv. Keep us posted.
I thought I had some contractions tonight when we were at dinner. Belly got so hard but I drank water and they went away, so I guess they were just BH. DH says good, baby needs to stay in for a week or two still.

@katiew92081: that is really quite a lot of handiwork! We received one hand knit blanket and it amazes me someone took all that time to make it!
Thanks ladies for all the well wishes. Glad that I should be able to fall asleep soon....

@shopaholic: Oh my! Glad they caught it, though...you need those fluids! I know it's not how you wanted to spend your weekend, but you gotta make sure that baby is good I hope you can go home soon!

You know when you're TTC and little discomforts make you hopeful...like you're happy to be miserable, cause that could mean you're pregnant?
It's funny how it's that way at the end of pregnancy, too. Every little cramp, every gross discomfort gets our hopes up for labor, and we're wishing on ourselves the worst pain we'll ever be in.
I'm feeling crampy today...and I know it means nothing until I'm actually in labor, but I'm just amusing myself over the fact that I'm excited to be feeling cramps, haha. Not that I'm expecting anything, but it's nice that I'm amusing myself, lol.

Just wanted to pop in and give an update. Spent all day packing and moving things from one house to the other yesterday. I think we have about 1/4th of the moving done? Gordon and my dad were going to take care of the hot water heater and a few other things but I'm afraid that's going to have to wait...
This morning I started having bloody show. We'll see how today goes No contractions yet, water seems to be intact but this is definitely blood (not pink). Wish us luck today!

@NaturallyCathy: all that activity got baby excited to come meet you! Good luck

@NaturallyCathy: exciting!! I know you can't wait to meet your baby!! Good luck! I am going to guess baby is a girl too;)

@Arden: Yep, I developed skin tags during pregnancy on my nipples and the most annoying one was in my arm pit!
@shopaholic: Yikes! Scary about the trip to the hospital and that you had to stay over night!! Hope everything is okay!
@NaturallyCathy: Oooh, bloody show was the first sign for me!!! The baby was here less than 24 hours after that! Keep us posted!

I ate an eggplant parmigiana sub for lunch today. My SIL and a cousin both said they ate it the day before their labors. It was delicious, so even if it has no effect, I have no regrets, lol.
I'm still feeling crampy today, but that's all it is...crampy. Hasn't progressed, yet hasn't gone away. I walked all over Walmart today, in hopes to either make it stop or make it progress, and it just stayed the same, lol. No bloody show, although I've been dropping mucous like crazy for weeks.
Funny how I was so paranoid about her coming too soon, and now I can't convince her to come at all! lol. I know she'll come when she's good and ready, but the anticipation is kinda crazy!
@naturallycathy: Ohh!! Good luck!
@shopaholic: I hope you and your baby are doing ok!

@aprk: @Smurfette: @Adira: @katiew92081:
Called my doctor's office, took them a few hours to reach the doctor on call; doctor on call told me to go to the hospital. Hospital took a look at me and held me for an hour, monitoring me. Contractions were pretty regular but I wasn't dialating past three centimeters ao they discharged me with a prescription for anti-nausea stuff. Told me to just stay hydrated and let them know if anything changes. Rest.
My mom gives it four or five hours before we're back out there again. All i can say is I hope she's right because this is awful.

@NaturallyCathy: Fingers crossed that you end up back at the hospital!!

@katiew92081: I was super mucusy for a couple weeks before my bloody show started, so maybe things are going to happen soon for you!
@NaturallyCathy: Oh my gosh, this is exciting! Hopefully things start to progress for you!!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@naturallycathy: Exciting! I hope you don't have to be tormented by this much longer!
@adira: Yeah, I've been really slimy for quite some time. I'm still really crampy...a little more than earlier, but it's mostly on my right side, so I don't even know if it means anything at all! DH has a fever and is sick, which is typical for us...he came down with strep throat the day we got married!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@katiew92081: Uh oh! Maybe you should hope that that the baby stays put until your husband is feeling better?? Or maybe this is a sign since he was sick for your wedding too! I hope he feels better soon though - you definitely don't want to get your newborn sick!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@adira: That's true! I hope she at least lets her dad cycle through whatever he's dealing with. It's not a great sign, if it is one.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
The torment continues. I think this baby is enjoying tormenting me. Had stopped having bloody show then started having bloody show again. Now I see blood every time I go to the bathroom. Baby quieted down and the contractions evened out to longer stretches, then got really close again - right now they're consistently about every six to seven minutes apart. Closer when moving around of course but that's exhausting and more painful.
Haven't been able to eat or do much today which has made my short patience even shorter. We've been at my parent's house all day. My in-laws came over when we did to help with Henry, since DH took me to L&D earlier. Since then, they stuck around. Which accounts for my shorter than normal fuse.
Family started taking bets on when we'll have to go to the hospital. Right now I'm 8-9; DH is 9-10; mom is 10-11; dad is 11-12; 12-1 is open; family friend is 1-2; and my MIL is 2-3. I hope they're right. I hope it's soon. I've practically been on a liquid diet all day. Toast, crackers, a little bit of soup, just a few French fries. Mostly been water, ginger ale, and Gatorade.
And that's my update.

I've been up for the past hour... Had one really strong contraction, then got intense heartburn, then became really shaky, and then threw up A LOT. Ugh. I don't think I'm in real labor, but I feel awful.

As for me, this kid has stayed put and her dad is feeling better. I have a midwife appointment today. I'm still feeling crampy, but it's a sensation I'm getting used to, lol.

@NaturallyCathy: Yay!! Our first March girl!! Strawberry blonde hair, love it. Can't wait to see a picture and hear her name. Congrats!!!
@keepcalmcarrie: I have read nauseous can be a sign of labor. I had horrible heart burn last night too. Guess that means I shouldn't eat pizza for dinner.
@katiew92081: Glad your husband is feeling better. Maybe this will be your week!

My MIL just sent me a message on FB..."I'm coming over today." I have an appointment and want to run some errands, so I'm asking her why, and she says she wants to clean my house!
First of all, I'm nesting...I'm moving and trying to get this baby out. My house is CLEAN. Over clean. She says I need to be resting, but no I don't...I need to be walking this baby out of me!
I know she means well, but it's a sore spot with me...I like to be able to clean my own house. Maybe AFTER the baby comes, I'd like help, but not before!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: Well maybe just let her come over and clean. Mention you really appreciate it and know what you will really need the help again once the baby is here. Just let her clean and you go about your day like you would if she wasn't there. Maybe once she gets there, she will see that it is clean and will just leave. Or you can send her to my house
watermelon / 14206 posts
@smurfette: I probably normally would, but I have a midwife appointment in a bit, and I was planning on running some errands. I don't want her here with no one home...not that I don't trust her, it just weirds me out.
I told her I'd let her know when I'm home again, and she can vacuum for me (my least favorite chore, lol).
I'll send her there, lol.
I think part of it was her announcing she's coming over, rather than saying, "hey, want me to come over and help clean?" Just was weird to me. My own mother knows I'm pretty independent, and I like to do things myself, and I think it's still hard for MIL to grasp it, lol.

@katiew92081: I do understand the, I am just coming over. That would annoy me too.

@naturallycathy: congratulations on the baby girl!!!
@shopaholic: so glad you are home and feeling better!!
@katiew92081: I would be soooo annoyed. My MIL is the same way - luckily she lives 1.5 hours away so she doesn't pop in that much.
I think my baby is content where it is. Haven’t lost my mucus plug yet and only 13 more days to go. Really hoping to get some things moving this week so I don’t have to be induced. But either way I can’t wait to meet my baby!!! Best of luck to you all and hope you are all as comfortable as can be during the final stretch.

You wold think that as eager for this kid to come out I am, I would have installed the carseat a long time ago. I just now installed it, though, lol. Was way easier than I expected and it fits so perfectly in my back seat!
