@Smurfette: oh man I eat Tums like crazy- i feel like my kid is going to come out hairy like a monkey at this rate!!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@cheert16: DH thinks I am crazy cause I say all the time how much I want her to have hair. I want to put hair bows in her hair, that way everyone knows she is a girl. He says everyone will know since all her clothes are pink. But what can I say, I love pink!
I have a friend who had like no heartburn and her little girl came out with a full head of hair. So I don't really think the heart burn matters, but right now it is giving me hope. Although my Mom told me you probably jinxed her and now she will be bald!

@smurfette: @cheert16: I've had heartburn this whole pregnancy. If this kid doesn't have Rapunzel hair, I'll be amazed!
Still having contractions about every 10 minutes or so. Still mild. Wondering how long this part will last!

@katiew92081: That sounds promising!! I hope you're holding your LO by this time tomorrow
@cheert16: @Smurfette: I've had crazy heartburn too, and both my husband and I had lots of hair as newborns, so I'm hoping our baby has lush locks.
Nothing new to report here. The contractions stopped yesterday after a few hours. I think Baby thought about making a break for it after "our" miserable pukey Monday, but now he/she is wayyy too comfy again.

@katiew92081: Your contractions sound exactly like how mine started! They were all located in my back and originally weren't super painful - I was able to walk around, eat, talk, etc through them!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@adira: They seem to have slowed a bit, even though they're still there. They feel like someone is inflating my uterus from the bottom, lol.
I'm chugging red raspberry leaf tea and doing a lot of the natural stuff, cause I'm figuring, this is a good clue that things are almost ready. I even warned dh that I'll be using him tonight, lol.
I wanna get this show on the road! lol
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: Boo! I was hoping to see they were speeding up. You use that husband tonight! Let's meet that little girl!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@katiew92081: Gahh, you sound so close!!! I hope things start progressing for you!!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Smurfette: @Adira: The contractions are pretty much the same. They're obviously dilating me, though, cause I feel like my legs are about to pop out of my hip joints, lol. I've been walking around like a pirate, cause my hips feel crazy wide, haha. I have a feeling my water's gonna break and then it's full throttle!
DH and I took ds to my mom's for the night...just in case. I didn't want to have to wake him in the middle of the night, or my mom, for her to come get him, so he's just gonna stay there and she'll bring him to school in the morning. I felt a little bad, in case this is all a false alarm (or takes longer than one night!), but as my mom said, "we'll deal with tonight tonight, and deal with tomorrow tomorrow!"
So, we'll see. Luckily, dh got home early from work today and was able to rest up this afternoon, so he'll be ready to go, when the time comes. Or, at least refreshed at work in the morning, in case I call him home.
The uncertainty is just crazy!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: I would have sent DS to your Mom's as well. Much better then waking him up in the middle of the night. Plus I am sure he is loving spending the night at grandma's. Good Luck tonight! I just know you are going to end up with a baby in your arms soon!!

Picking up my Mom tonight, so I won't be home until like 2AM. Blecky.
I feel like I'm coming down with something, but I'm not sure if it's sickness or just exhaustion from being so pregnant. I'm drinking lots of water, taking vitamin C and garlic, and trying to sleep as much as possible.

@katiew92081: smart to let everybody get some rest tonight. Hope things pick up for you!!
@Arden: sorry you are not feeling well, especially since you have to be up late. Hopefully you'll have a great nap tomorrow
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Arden: hope you feel better! At least you can sleep late tomorrow.

Whoa. Contraction. Big one. Painful one.
The biggest one I've felt, by a lot. Hmm....
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Arden: ooh...contraction! Just in time for your mom to come! Stinks you have to drive so late, though! Hope you feel better! That feeling of "coming down with something" might be the fluish feeling some women get before labor!
Good luck!

Def. had some contractions while teaching my classes today! Think they were just bh but a couple parents I had in the class watching could tell something was up and asked me after class was over if I was ok! Whoops!

My contractions have been on and off all night but I slept so I have no idea how often they really were. So...no new news here lol.

@katiew92081: Boo! I was hoping you would have had an announcement for us.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Smurfette: me too! lol...today it doesn't even feel like full contractions...just my belly tightening over and over. We'll see. Tomorrow is my FIL's birthday, so we're all thinking she's gonna take that day, maybe, lol.

@katiew92081: Oh my gosh, I can't believe you're STILL pregnant!!! That baby needs to get this show on the road!

@shopaholic Kaitlyn is beautiful!!! I love the name and actually considered Irene for a middle name also!! Hope you are able to get some rest.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Adira: At this point, I'm surprised I'm still pregnant, too! Today it's mostly in my back, which is slightly annoying. They don't seem to have any regular pattern anymore, either. I'm finding this all very frustrating!
Although, my mom says, since this is probably all for the sake of dilating, once I'm actually IN true labor, it won't last too long. Hopefully she's right!

@shopaholic: She is gorgeous! I'm thread stalking for pics of K!

Contractions have totally stopped for now. Dh and I walked all over today, in hopes of encouraging her out. We'll see how the weekend goes!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Just got back a little bit ago from the doctor's. She said baby is really low, 75% effaced and 2, almost 3 cm dilated. She said I could schedule and induction for next week, if I wanted too. I passed, said I would rather just do it natural. I go back next Friday, which is two days before my DD, so then we will go ahead and schedule and induction if she isn't here before then. But I am planning on going into eviction mode on Sat after our CPR class.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: Sorry!! Why doesn't she get the message you want her to come out??
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Smurfette: Wow, 3 cm is good! I bet you'll have her by your next appointment!
I'm curious to know my dilation, but my midwife doesn't regularly check, and deep down inside, I don't want to have to subject myself to it, lol. But, my hips feel so wide, especially after yesterday's contractions, I have a feeling I'm at least a 3. At least, all these easy contractions will make the hard labor a little faster.
I know...dh and I keep trying to bribe her out, but nothing seems to strike her fancy, lol. Today he promised her a pony, to no avail, lol.
We walked soooo much today...I'm exhausted! I don't even have decent energy to make dinner. I'm gonna scramble some eggs and call it dinner, lol. ds had pb&j.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@katiew92081: I am trying not to get my hopes up. A friend was at 4 cm for two weeks before having to get induced. I am not having contractions, at least I don't think so, just a lot of cramping.
Well rest up tonight and start walking again tomorrow!!

Congrats to @shopaholic and @naturallycathy on your baby girls! It also sounds like some of the other March babies are pretty close to arriving. Good luck to all of the mamas who are starting the labor process.
An update from me: baby boy is doing really well! He had dropped a lot of weight in the first couple of days before my milk came in, but he made it back to his birth weight by day 10. So breastfeeding is going really well. Cloth diapering is also going well so far, although it took some trial and error to find which types work the best on his body (BumGenius newborn AIOs during the day; Kissaluvs size 0 fitteds and Flip covers at night). As an aside, newborn poop is crazy weird.
I also am not as tired as I imagined that I would be at this point. Maybe I am still running strong on post-baby hormones? Baby boy wakes up 2-3 times at night to feed, but I am getting a ton of help during the day from my husband. He goes back to work on Monday, though, so I imagine that things might be a bit rough during that transition!

@shopaholic: Oh wow, congratulations! She's beautiful!
So exciting that our little March babies are being born.
Had my appointment today - baby is no longer posterior (yay!) but is also very high (boo!). So tomorrow is officially "Get the Baby to Drop" day. I'm going walking/jogging/belly dancing/bouncing on the birth ball and anything else I can think of to get this munchkin DOWN!
pomegranate / 3452 posts
@mole: glad things are going well for you guys!!
@Arden: I will be doing the same dance as you good luck!

My dh is so practical at times. He tells me today, "You know, I was reading on that pregnancy app you put in my phone...only 50% of babies are born before their due dates. But, then afterwards, only 10% of the ones left go to 42 weeks."
Thanks for the info. I know he's trying to curb my impatience, but I'm not sure that helped, lol.
