@mole: Glad that things are going so well. I love hearing you aren't super tired, gives me hope. I am so worried about the lack of sleep. DH and I are both big sleepers.

@Arden: My doctor won't check if she is sunny side up, said that she can still flip. And based on movement this week, she is for sure. Good Luck on Operation Get Baby to Drop

    @katiew92081: men!

@Smurfette: @Arden: My midwife said that since I was feeling some tension in my back yesterday, baby might be sunny side up. She suggested being on all fours for a bit, to try and convince her to turn. I'm feeling limbs on the front today, so she's probably right, lol. Baby girl is very wiggly today!

No contractions at all last night or this morning, however, I'm feeling menstrual-like cramps. I know from recent experience to not bet on anything, but it's SO HARD not to analyze every little twinge!!

DH and I decided that since we don't want her birthday on St. Patrick's Day, then that's when she's probably going to come, haha.

@katiew92081: I swear I think that's when mine is coming too. Except I wouldn't mind a St. Patrick's Day arrival (other than, you know, the 21st birthday shenanigans... but I figure those will make me worry no matter what day he or she arrives!)

@keepcalmcarrie: I suppose someone in this community should have a St. Patty's day baby, lol. I just didn't want it to be me!

@keepcalmcarrie: @katiew92081: My Mom and MIL both think she is going to be here on St Patty's Day, which is her DD. Our last name is Irish, so it would be fitting, but I don't want her to share her birthday!

I was having a good day. Felt good about going to the gym again today after work. Then I got home and after I got out of the shower, I noticed something. Stupid stretch mark showed up!

I think I shall drown my sorrows with some frozen yogurt tonight!

@Smurfette: Ah...well maybe with this being the last couple weeks, it'll be the only stretch mark you have to deal with? I'm so pale that I don't notice any stretch marks on myself, but I'm sure once I'm deflated I'll find out where they're hiding, lol.

So, I ordered a baby carrier this week (I don't know why I procrastinated, it's just how I roll, lol), and it's the $15 one from Amazon. My mom gifted me Amazon Prime, so I've been taking advantage of it. I'm starting with the cheap carrier, and working my way up til I find the right one.

Anyways, it came today, and it was like a puzzle figuring it out! I did finally figure it out, so now I just the baby, to figure out if it's good for the both of us. it's tricky to figure out with this belly in the way, lol.

@Smurfette: Sorry about the stretch mark!! I got them early in my pregnancy and had a ton by the end, so I suspect you won't be as bad off since you're just getting your first now! Hopefully it won't be too bad.

So ALL last night I had trouble sleeping, because I felt the worst menstrual like cramping. It felt like I was gonna have the biggest af ever! Then I got up, walked around, and contractions started about 6 minutes apart, until about 9 am.

And then they all stopped and right now I feel fine. I'm sooo frustrated!!

@katiew92081: ahh that is frustrating!! I've been having menstrual cramps for a few weeks now and it's so hard not to think they'll turn into something productive.

@katiew92081: I am sorry that your body keeps playing tricks on you!!! Why doesn't she want to come out??

I am not having anything. I just know I am going to end up induced

@Smurfette: don't give up hope yet! still plenty of time

We are finalizing our birth plan tonight and meeting with our doula on Tuesday. It's getting real!! I am so excited and anxious!!!

@aprk: @Smurfette: Yeah, I'm frustrated. The crampy part is returning now, but no regular contractions. My mom is gonna come get ds later, anyways, just so that if things get real in the middle of the night, he's already over there. And, if not, hey, he had a fun night at gramma's house, lol.

It really frustrates me that this could actually go on for days, though.

@katiew92081: I am frustrated for you!! Having off and on contractions has to be worse then not having any, for sure. Hoping they pick up tonight for you!!

@Smurfette: I wouldn't mind if it were nothing at all. OR, if I *knew* what exact day I'm having a baby...but this on and off stuff, wondering every day if today is the day really is driving me crazy, lol.

    How are you feeling?

  22. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@katiew92081: I am ok. Hips and things are really hurting today. Just so tired. A little cramping but nothing bad at all. We had Infant CPR this afternoon, so now I feel like she can come and we are ready!

I am such a planner, so the unknown is so hard for me too.

@Smurfette: How was the class? Glad you managed to get to it in time! You never know...many women just say they go into labor without all the crazy signs. Just BAM, lol.

Yeah, I'm a planner, too...and I'm impatient. Thank goodness I'm with a midwife at a birth center, cause if I wasn't, and an OB was gonna say they'll induce, I probably would take them up on it, lol. Glad I guarded myself from myself by going to the midwife, haha.

@katiew92081: The class was good and we learned a lot. I hope that it was a waste of money and we never have to use it.

I think those of us still waiting for our babies to join us on the outside are getting a little punchy - I know I am! So, here's something silly I found that will hopefully make you giggle

@Smurfette: I don't feel like I had any real symptoms until about a week before, so don't give up hope! And some people don't have any symptoms until BAM - they're in labor!!

@katiew92081: haha, your body is being so mean to you, having contractions and then having them go away! Hopefully it cuts it out soon and you get this show on the road!

  28. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@aprk: that looks disgusting!!! Where did you find that??

@Adira: I am over this at this point. I want to get this show on the road!!

  29. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I know what you mean! Those last couple weeks of being pregnant are brutal! I'm glad that I ended up going into labor a week early! I hope you don't end up going late or having to be induced!

  30. Dandelion

    watermelon / 14206 posts

@Smurfette: @Adira: I'm definitely over it all. I've been contracting on and off all day. Nothing to show me that it's doing any good. Although, I think that even though I've been slimy all these weeks, I think I lost some of my mucous plug this morning. Not bloody, or anything, so I dunno. I need to stop analyzing everything.

  31. aprk

    pomegranate / 3452 posts

@Smurfette: a gift shop - it was $16 so needless to say I didn't buy it, lol!

  32. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@Adira: what symptoms did you have??

  33. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: My symptoms were subtle I think. I had lots of extra mucus (but I had had that earlier around 36 weeks too, so I didn't think anything of it), and the week leading up to me going into labor, I had this constant pressure that made me feel like I had to do a bowel movement, but really couldn't. And that really was it until I started having contractions.

ETA: Oh, and the morning that I started having contractions was when I had my bloody show. That was probably the first real sign that I was going into labor soon.

I have been in a really bad mood the past few days. Nothing is fun and I'm just cranky and uncomfortable. Anybody else? Is this just end of the road lack of patience, or something I should be worried about?

  35. Arden

    honeydew / 7589 posts

@Adira: Well I've had no mucous at all, no bloody show, no real contractions lasting for more than two or three in a row, and baby hasn't dropped. Bah. I did get lightening last night though!

  36. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Arden: Well my mom didn't have any symptoms either until her water just randomly broke on her! So try not to be too discouraged - it can happen at any time in any way!

  37. Smurfette

    GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts

@aprk: Yes! I have no patience for anyone. I just want to lay on the couch doing nothing.

@Adira: I have had more mucus the last couple days, hopefully it means something is happening. Although DH keeps saying he isn't ready for her to come. But I don't think he will ever be and he isn't carrying around this baby, so I say he has no choice!!

Did a lot of walking today and now I am feeling it. Going to sit on the couch till dinner and rest.

@Adira: I've been mucousy for weeks...but today I think I lost some mucous plug. It wasn't bloody, though. I'm also having that pressure you're talking about.

@Smurfette: Haha, he isn't ready...he better get ready! My dh is getting impatient, lol. Ds, also.

@aprk: I've been cranky for weeks. It's a combination of being tired, uncomfortable and impatient.
