I'm wiped the hell out, guys. There's no other way to describe it. I'm so jealous of everyone who gets to WFH. Getting H ready zaps all of my energy and getting myself ready is just a total wipeout. I'll be so glad when my husband gets home Friday. I feel like I'm going to die of exhaustion. My nesting energy has definitely peaced out on me.

Oh and my 2yo still thinks sleeping all night and in HER bed is for losers.

On a lighter note, she was patting my belly this morning and I said, "Yeah the baby needs to get out and come play with you!" And she said, "Gih out, Baby! Play!" Maybe Lo2 will listen to her big sister

    I emailed her!
I have my 34w appointment today. I think I'm due for my Tdap and maybe the GBS swab? Or is GBS at 36w?

@MsHangry: I'm 35 and some change and haven't had the swab yet. Pretty sure I do tomorrow, though!

@PrincessBaby: I can't imagine. I have DH around and I was still so happy to drop DS at day care this morning. I'm just completely exhausted.

I'm still sick and finally called the doctor this morning. The OB said it sounds like I definitely need antibiotics, so I'm waiting to hear back from my primary care doc. I have been fighting taking anything for 10 days and I can't do it anymore. I need to be able to breathe!

@SeptMomma12: I hope you feel better soon!!! Those antibiotics will kick in so fast, though!

@blackbird: Thanks! It's not easy to hack up a lung with a very large baby belly

I've had several people, including DH and my mom, who see me all the time, tell me over the last few days that I've dropped. I feel like it's still too early for that (almost 34 weeks). Really, really hoping it's just her position and this little lady stays in there for at least another month.

@SeptMomma12: I got those comments a few weeks ago but I'd bet money on going 39-41 weeks

@SeptMomma12: I hope you feel better quick on the antibiotics! You poor thing- I don't know how you've battled it without drugs so long- SuperMama! Especially not being able to breathe, that is the worst! I don't really advertise it on here, but I take a Cat C inhaled steroid bc my rhinitis is so terrible and I just cannot deal with not being able to breathe. My dr said it's ok since nothing else worked but I still have a little Mom Guilt. Worried she'll come out wonky bc I had to shoot up steroids But I truly hope you feel better ASAP!!

@blackbird: lol! This is me totally! I have my own pharmacy. I take a prenatal and 2 d3 daily. I take two Colace daily. Prevacid once for heart burn. I take Ursodiol 4x a day for my Cholestasis of Pregnancy. Oh and 2 hydroxyzine to get a couple hours of sleep at night so I don't lose all my sanity.
    I think that's 12 pills a day? Oops

Just got back from the doctor. My regular doctor was on vacation this week, so I ended up going to urgent care. The doc said it has gone down into my chest and I'm wheezing, but then she was kinda wishy washy about whether I should take antibiotics or "tough it out". Ended up giving me a prescription for amoxicillin. Said it was safe but definitely didn't make me feel great about it But now that she confirmed it's in my chest, I'm going to take them vs ending up in the hospital with pneumonia (which I have a tendency to get).

  16. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@BabyPenguinXO: haha you're worse than me! I take about 6 meds a day, plus miralax 2x/day....sometimes my prenatal. Siiiiigh. Of course, if my body worked properly, I wouldn't need a good amount of these, heh.

@SeptMomma12: I'm not a big "tough it out" fan so I hope you feel better soon! The antibiotics definitely sound like the smart choice.

  17. BabyPenguinXO

    kiwi / 549 posts

@SeptMomma12: girl you take that amoxicillin! No shame! I needed it twice this winter for sinuses. I don't have time to tough it out when I'm playing single pregnant mama with a toddler! I need my full strength! Eye roll to the doctor!

@blackbird: touché! If my liver wasn't broken I wouldn't need so many either! I think everything im taking except the hydroxyzine is a cat B! Well and vitamins are good

Long time no see! I came back from doctor's appointment since we just found out LO is in Frank breech (both feet up) position. We are offered to go with ECV (version) next week(36th) or scheduled c-section in 39th week. What a bummer.....

We decided to try ECV since my ob told me I'm a good candidate (second time mom, enough fluid, good placenta position). We will see how it goes!

  19. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@xmaskidjr: I always wonder if babies are aware if that position is uncomfortable or not. Surely weeks like that is unpleasant! Who knows. Good luck with your ECV!

Can anyone else tell how the baby is in there? I keep feeling lumps and wonder what is what. A friend of mine knew her baby was breech based on movement but im clueless

  20. xmaskidjr

    coffee bean / 28 posts

@blackbird: I was measuring 2 week smaller so my OB ordered US to rule out IUGR...Instead we found he is in breech position (breech babies sometimes measure small). OB mentioned that breech babies makes kicks and movements in lower abdomen(very low...), which I felt plenty.

Also, when baby hiccups...it was upper abdomen (right below breast) which was very different from my first one.

@blackbird: I can tell her butt is up in my left rib area! But I also have ultrasounds twice a week. She does "head spins. And soemtimes faces my right side vs left. Her feet are usually down by her head but soemtimes they come up higher. I can only tell that because of my ultrasounds though lol. I guess her position and they tell me. I feel low movements and higher movements so that's how I figure out the lower is likely her arms and hands and the higher is her feet.

  22. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@xmaskidjr: @BabyPenguinXO: Oooo interesting! I haven't had a scan since 20 weeks and my dr said that based on the new healthcare laws, she can't give me another one (she used to do a growth scan around 32-36 weeks to determine position) unless she can't feel the baby or tell by poking around (yay, please put your hands up my vagina some more!) and deems it a "medical reason". I feel movement both very low and very high, up under my ribs. Maybe those are feet? I have a long torso and they're distinctly kicks, to me. I feel a lot of movement on my lower left side, which has made me wonder if his hand is going nuts or if he's in there a little sideways still. Who knows!

@xmaskidjr: @BabyPenguinXO: @blackbird: So interesting to figure out position! My doc said the same thing about not doing a scan unless they can't tell. But, I can't for the life of me figure out how to tell!

@SeptMomma12: so glad you got meds! How are you feeling now?

For those second time moms, anyone nervous the babe is going to come so fast? I have this fear I'll go into labor and have a problem finding childcare for LO1 because this LO2 will come so fast.

  24. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@Mrs. Lovejoy: it's a slim concern! My first one was induced with a 16 hour start to finish labor (which the nurses all said was really quick), but MIL is only about 30 min away tops...I figure worst case scenario, we have to go to the hospital NOW (which is 10 min away) and we have to hand her off there. In an absolute emergency....which would be insane, right????....my neighbor would surely give us a hand until MIL could get to the house.

and next week, DH is on a work trip (in town, but he has to stay there...) and i have two friends who offered to help if I go into labor early (again, unlikely since I went to 41 weeks with E)

  25. Mrs. Lovejoy

    clementine / 972 posts

@blackbird: yes, that's true! Could definitely bring LO1 to the hospital. My labor was 24 hours from first contraction to birth last time, but once I was at 4 cm, it was about 3 hours from 4 - 10 cm and delivery. And just a few pushes. Ah, I'm getting excited an anxious, but 6 - 7 weeks is still quite a bit of time (for me)! Some of you guys are much sooner.

  26. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Yeah it's not ideal but I can deal with early labor by myself while DH keeps E entertained until the cavalry arrives. I don't forsee myself at all having to push or deliver without him there! Plus, i don't think my MIL would be upset if we end up with a false alarm or anything. Shit happens

I had a biophysical ultrasound last week bc there were just a few wonky things she wanted to check out- mainly fluid and movement. The u/s tech helped me figure out her position...Head down, butt is poking out of the upper left side of my belly (H did the same so I had recognized that), and then extremities downward sloping on the right side of my belly.

It was really hard to see anything bc she is so squished up in there. What was shocking to me was that her foot was in front of her face. So she must have H's long legs if her butt is on my left and she has a foot in her face all the was at the bottom. So weird.

I don't have a plan for childcare...I have kind of thought if we had to bring her to the hospital, we'd make it work. We don't have family here, but my mom is flying in to take care of H on the Sat before my induction. If anything happens before that, which I 'm feeling like there is a low possibility of, I would just get my mom On the next available flight and hopefully she'd be here the same day.

I don't even have a hospital bag packed. I didn't use anything I brought last time:). I have some sleepers for the baby pulled to the side but that's the extent of my hospital preparedness:)

  28. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Feeling a little better, thanks. The coughing is just brutal on the bump - so painful

I could sorta tell what position she's in and the ultrasound tech confirmed. She's head down with her butt on my right side and he feet stretched out on the left side. I can feel her pushing her butt and feet out at the same time. Those little feet are sharp - you can actually make out the shape of the foot!

I'm scheduled for a c-section but still afraid of suddenly going into labor and not knowing what to do with DS. That actually happened to one of my friends a few months ago. She was scheduled for a c-section but her water broke at 1am two days before and she immediately started having crazy contractions. Her husband ended up ringing a neighbors doorbell because she knew she couldn't wait the half hour for her parents to get there. LO was born by VBAC (no time for a c-section) within an hour.

@SeptMomma12: Glad you are feeling somewhat better:). Today is actually a better day over here too- I did not have a MOTN visitor to my bed or any wakeups so I almost feel- dare I say it- rested. I'm going to put some stuff to the side to bring to the hospital- totally vain things like the hat I ordered for her with the bow like H had (infanteenie beanie- so cute!) and some sleepers and A&A swaddles. Other than that, I'm not preparing much:)

Did you guys ever decide on diaper bags? I'm a little embarassed to admit the one I think I'm getting... I had some bad luck with Tory Burch stuff, and swore her off, but long story short- at the encouragement of a dr I call on who is all "TB4LIFE," I ended up letting their CS know of my issues and they let me return the wonky shoes for a gift card. Which was nice of them bc it had been 5 or 6 months (even though $250 shoes should not be trashed in that time frame). So I have a good amount on a gift card, and I know that F&F happens at the end of April each year, so I'm going to wait and get this bag with some sandals I like. I'm reluctant to say that I'm giving TB another chance, but I have to use the GC anyway so whatevs.
It does look like a good size and pretty functional...I really hope it is and doesn't end up being another TB mistake/regret.

  32. Mrs. Lovejoy

    clementine / 972 posts

@PrincessBaby: Oh that's so cute!! I also swore off TB after I bought her flats. But, I bought them at nordstrom, so it was an easy return a few months later. I couldn't believe how much they hurt / how destroyed they got even months later! Nice that they gave you a gift card though!

I bought a bag and just got it in.. It's a backpack. And it was expensive. Like ridiculous for a backpack, but I'm in love. I sold a few things on craigslist (like our old diaper bag and this old coffee maker) to make the purchase seem reasonable. ha - whatever we do to justify! http://www.leaderbagco.com/#the-julien-natural

  33. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Wow! That bag is AMAZING! That is expensive but if you will use it a lot, it's worth it:) And btw I so rarely hear of anyone having TB problems- that's interesting that you did too. She has a CULT following here and I don't understand how no one else has problems! Or isn't limping around lol.

  34. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

aw damn i meant to ask Dr M today about position and i totally FORGOT! She went off on something else, heh.

I haven't packed a bag and probably won't for awhile. All i really need is a thin robe and an extension cord for my phone....and snacks.

  35. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@PrincessBaby: I'm just going to use the simple Skip Hop Duo I had with DS. Nothing fancy but it does the job. We didn't really use the diaper bag all that long. I found it easier to just stick a few things in my purse and keep a small bag with extra diapers/wipes in the car.

Also, I'll admit to being a TB fan, but I do NOT find the flats comfortable at all. My sister swears they are "like slippers" and that is not the case for me. They stay at work and are only worn around the office. Definitely not commute-worthy.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: That is an impressive backpack! You guys are making me want something new

  36. PrincessBaby

    cantaloupe / 6610 posts

@SeptMomma12: I really do love the look of her shoes. Like REALLY love the look. Especially the flats while being pregnant...It's hard to really dress up for work in maternity clothes and have cute flat shoes. I feel like the TB hardware just dresses up flats/outfit so much. That's why I wanted to like them so much and was so disappointed. Btw the only reason I was embarrassed to admit the TB diaper bag was because I've bitched so much on here about TB flats - haha.

  37. SeptMomma12

    pear / 1849 posts

@PrincessBaby: My big maternity shoe purchase (actually DH got me for Christmas) was a pair of the TB riding boots and they are SO comfortable. I have literally worn them every day since December. Even DH who couldn't believe what he was paying for boots says now it's probably the best gift he ever got me. So now I know she's capable of making comfortable shoes. I just can't understand what's up with the flats being so torturous!!!

  38. Mrs. Lovejoy

    clementine / 972 posts

@SeptMomma12: Ah I love, love the look of TB riding boots. Haven't owned a pair myself, but I love those ones that are both brown and black (I think brown on top?). Someday Glad to know that they are more comfy!

and @PrincessBaby: I don't blame you for giving her another try. A purse should really not be the same as shoes, and I've known many people to love her bags.

@blackbird: I knew she was breech by movement. I had almost none in my ribs and lots down below, now she's flipped and the only movement I have near my pelvis is hiccups.

@xmaskidjr: Good luck with the ECV!

@Mrs. Lovejoy: me! Start of pitocin to baby was 6 hours last time. I'm interested to see what happens if I'm not induced. My sisters lives with us so she'll take over with LO1 until we can get some backup.

I can only say "this hard thing is a head or a butt". He has gone from head down, to breech and back to head down.

The pediatrician got back to me and @blackbird: was right, we don't even need the new mom appointment!

TMI warning: Seasonal allergies with a high pollen count plus being pregnant, I am running through panty liners and underwear at an alarming rate... Whomp whomp
