I have set up some appointments to meet & greet with a group of Midwives who practice at a hospital and some home birth Midwives.
Looking to see if anyone else on here has any experiences or advice to share about having a Midwife. Or questions I should ask them. Am I crazy for considering a home birth?

I have no experience with a homebirth, but it totally makes sense to me. If there are no risks during pregnancy, it seems natural to birth where you're most comfortable. That being said, I'm too paranoid and will be going to the hospital because I don't live super close to a hospital that I trust. Maybe for #2 I'll choose a birth center.

I don't think a home birth is crazy, but there are a lot of factors to consider. DH was absolutely against anything but a hospital birth, but I had a wonderful midwife practice that I saw during my pregnancy and two were there for my labor/delivery. My hospital birth with a midwife went awesome, but I have a fairly liberal hospital regarding policies on eating, IVs, walking, etc... I was induced but had a lot of support to avoid meds. I had no IV fluids, just the pitocin and antibiotics. I felt really supported and was able to have a vaginal delivery even though there were a few bumps in the road. They called the ob in, but the midwives kept up their thing and I had my baby with minimal interventions.
