@MamaBear87: Yeah, there was an anterior placenta for one of the babies a few weeks ago. But recently, I was told that the placenta is now on the side. Not sure if it has moved back.

@MamaBear87: at this point I am feeling movement daily. If I went a day without feeling anything I would definitely call my doctor.

    @Mrs. Pickle: yep same.

It has definitely gotten consistent for me, at 23 weeks...if you are worried, I would try drinking a cold sugary drink and lying on your left side to see if that helps!

@bluestriped bee: I didn't realize the placentas still moved around so much.
Here's hoping both of you escape the HG train soon!

I've finally felt her a couple times. Nice hard kicks. I do have an anterior placenta so I'm guessing she may have just turned so she's more hidden behind it than she was before. And it had only been this morning she'd been quiet, she was all wiggly last night

    Due date: October 9th
    How many weeks: 24 weeks
Boy, girl, or team green: girl
    Recent milestone: viability!
    Favorite symptom: Feeling movement/kicks
Least favorite symptom: acid reflux. I'm also getting tired of taking it easy and being on pelvic rest (hematoma and cervical length issues- hoping they resolve themselves soon)
Nursery plans: So far I've just started clearing all of the stuff out of the nursery (it was used as a spare bedroom/office/closet for my stuff). I'm hoping to get to the decorating part soon. That sounds much more fun!
Baby shower plans: None since this is my second girl and they will be close in age
Are your older LOs ready for a new sibling? I've told her and she seems excited, although I don't think she really knows what's coming. She does love all of her baby dolls though- hopefully that transfers to a real baby
If you could pick the day you deliver, what would it be? As close to my due date as possible, since they scared me by talking about early labor due to the hematoma/cervical length (both of which are improving at this point)

@babycanuck: I didn't take a L&D class for LO1 and I don't regret it- although I was planning on an epidural, not going natural. If I didn't want an epidural I probably would have taken a class if they covered pain management techniques. I did go on a tour of the hospital though. I thought that was helpful.

@NovBaby1112: Last time I stayed at the hospital for 2 nights. I'd be fine with doing that again. I felt like my recovery for the first 24 hours or so was kind of rough- I didn't feel well enough to get out of bed and take a shower until the second morning, right before I went home. If my recovery is similar this time, I don't think I'll feel like leaving before then. However I was glad to be leaving after two nights. Also, I think I'd like my DH to stay the night with me and have LO1 stay with my parents. Our hospital doesn't have a nursery and the baby stays in the room with you the whole time. For the first day with LO1 I had trouble getting out of bed so I was very grateful to have my DH there to help with the baby, especially at night.

    Due date: October 11
    How many weeks: 24 weeks
Boy, girl, or team green: Girl
    Recent milestone: Viability
    Favorite symptom: Kicks
Least favorite symptom: Hip and back pain
Nursery plans: We still have to clear out the room but we plan on doing an aqua, coral, yellow, and gray ocean/mermaid nursery
Baby shower plans: My friend is planning to do one, not sure when yet
Are your older LOs ready for a new sibling? She says she is and seems so excited but I know this will be a big adjustment for her
If you could pick the day you deliver, what would it be? I mainly just want to make it to October and not to go too late to avoid induction. Besides that, I'm not picky as long as LO is taken care of and DH is there.

Finally catching up again....life has been crazy busy and about to get even crazier. Summer time is our busiest time of year.

I have no idea what we are going to do for the hospital....especially with have a 4.5yo who will have just started preschool a few weeks before this one is due to make his appearance....My parents and Inlaws are close but we had issues with them and their consistencies with our parenting style/rules when my husband was in the hospital for a few nights last fall after a serious car accident. So much so that when he had to have surgery on NYE as a result of his injuries from the accident, we didn't ask either set of parents to watch our son at all. And we had issues with both sets of parents when we went to the hospital with DS1.....I'm planning on relying on a good friend/neighbor for most of DS1's care.

    Due date: October 12
    How many weeks: 24w2d
Boy, girl, or team green: #2
    Recent milestone: Viability!
    Favorite symptom: Movement
Least favorite symptom: Hip/low back pain for the past month
Nursery plans: Dark Turquoise/Teal, Gray and Orange
Baby shower plans: None as this is Boy #2 for us....maybe a "Sip n See" after he arrives
Are your older LOs ready for a new sibling? I think so...he will tell everyone who asks that there's a baby brother in mommy's tummy, but the night before my anatomy scan he did a 180 and decided he only wants a baby sister after being adamant for weeks baby was a boy and he only wanted a baby brother.
If you could pick the day you deliver, what would it be? Hmm there are lots of October birthdays in our family/friends including mine which is the 4th, that I'm not really sure. I like the idea of 10/5/15 because 10+5=15 but I honestly don't really care. Just a happy/healthy baby is what matters most.

How many weeks: 23 weeks 2 days
    Boy, girl, or team green:
Recent milestone: ahhhh viability is soooo close!
Favorite symptom: watching kicks when I lay down at night. Love seeing my stomach jump!
Least favorite symptom: fatigue--that whole 2nd trimester energy story is crap. Haha so much more fatigue than I ever felt in the first trimester! Also, glad someone else mentioned arms falling asleep at night. So annoying!
Nursery plans: shades of blue and maybe some fish
Baby shower plans: one in my hometown and one in DH's
If you could pick the day you deliver, what would it be? The 15th would be cool--it's my grandpa's birthday. He passed when I was only a couple months old but I think it would be neat!

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!! I don't comment too much but do keep up with everyone in the thread! can't believe they already have the August Labor & Delivery board up...are we really getting that close?! Eeeek!!!

@2littlepumpkins: I saw the March board today and it made me realize how close we are getting!!!

I had my glucose test yesterday and my last ultrasound ... We are still officially team green! I can't wait to find out what this little one is. The tech said "he" during the scan, but we were speaking in French and "he" is often the default pronoun in French. I asked her at the end if she knew what it was and she said she didn't even go look so she didn't know.

Hoping the glucose results are okay...I felt a lot dizzier after drinking it this time than I did when I did the test with DD - not sure if that means anything or not though!

Hope everyone else has been feeling well!

@MamaBear87: I had good movement until 23w5 days -I was getting kicked on the side of my tummy- after my follow up anatomy and then baby must have switched positions and I feel stuff lighter, lower, and more internally if that makes sense. I wonder if that is because now my baby looks like those pictures you see on the internet with their back and bum facing the outside of my tummy? The first two days of my vacation I was getting worried and stressed out because I couldn't feel anything and it was all I could think about. Being halfway across the world makes it hard for me to just call up my midwife and inquire or go in for reassurance. I drank some coke yesterday and the sugar/caffeine combination did some magic and the baby got moving a bit, thankfully. I feel way better now even though the movements aren't as pronounced as they were for around a week or two after I started feeling them.

It's so hard not to worry all the time! Last night someone asked if I like being pregnant and I said it's okay. Honestly so far I have been lucky symptom-wise, it's more my anxiety about the baby's well-being I don't enjoy. If that was gone so far I would have no complaints. Anyone with me anxiety-wise or is everyone feeling fab and comfy at this point?

    Sending smiles from Rome!

    nectarine / 2288 posts

@Mrs. Goose: I keep telling my husband that its hard being solely responsible for her! Anxiety city some of the time. My little peanut has been moving around a lot more since she was quiet that morning so that makes me feel better. But if I don't feel her I wonder if she's ok. And I have been having terrible gas bubble (sorry tmi) on one side so that was worrisome.
Enjoy Rome! Italy is definitely on my list. You're a brave lady to go so far while prego!
@2littlepumpkins: We are getting way too close! I'm focusing on my registry currently in the hopes I won't start worrying about labor too soon...

@MamaBear87: same! I have been getting more action yesterday and today, but I want it to keep up! My husband is quite chill all the time and just tells me everything is okay.

We are here for my sister's wedding next week. I think I was pretty out of shape even though I stand up a lot for work and teach little kids. Nursing swollen ankles right now and tender feet. We are walking a lot everyday. Managed to convince my husband for a quick foot rub which he only did because I am pregnant. It was amazing!!

3 months left for me on July 7th, which is absolutely crazy to think about. I need to submit my mat leave soon. It seems to be going so slow sometimes, but other times it seems so close.

I can't wait until all of our babies are here!

@NovBaby1112: I'm feeling pretty good! I've adjusted to the constant pelvic pain so moving around is easier again. I just hope it doesn't get any worse. I can't believe we're almost in the third trimester! I feel like the next three months are going to fly by. I've got so much planned! I'm kind of getting nervous that I won't have everything ready in time.

@Charm54: Glad you are still team green and they didn't accidentally tell you. So did you get your results from the glucose test? How'd you do?

@Mrs. Goose: Oh, Rome? I've been there once. I have family in France and we've been trying to plan a Europe trip for the past 2 years. (It keeps getting pushed off and probably will be delayed a few more years.) Care to make us all jealous and share some pics?

@Mrs. Pickle: Woohoo under 99 days! Good luck on your glucose test. Tell us how it went. I have a OB appt on Wednesday and I'm 24 weeks. I think they mentioned that I'll have my glucose test at 24 (or maybe it was 28 weeks). I should call my OB to confirm.

@NovBaby1112: I'm feeling okay. I'm still on the anti-nausea patch and last night we went out to dinner after 'Expecting Multiples' class. I was feeling nauseous in the AM on Saturday and Sunday and had to take Zofran & Reglan. Well, after dinner, I started feeling nauseous again and was trying really hard to keep dinner down. Nope, it all came up. Today, I changed my patch (as scheduled) and I'm still feeling nauseous, so I'll be taking Zofran & Reglan again. I wish the nausea would go away but I'm beginning to think I'll be stuck with it through the whole pregnancy.

Good news is the 'Expecting Multiples' class on Saturday and Sunday was a great class. It was totally worth the 5.5 hrs on both days and the $200. The instructor had some great advice and tips for us and the 2 other couples expecting twins. What was a weird coincidence was that we were all due within a week of each other so it will be great to keep in touch to see when we will all go into labor. One of the couples moved from Pennsylvania 2 years ago and knew exactly where me and my husband were born and raised. It definitely felt like a small world in our little class. Anyway, the class was great and DH and I both learned a lot.

@bluestriped bee: I got the lab order at 24 weeks and was told to go before my 28 week appointment. I'm going at 26 weeks because I want to make sure I give the lab plenty of time to get the results back. That's so awesome about your class! I'm sure connecting with other parents of multiples to be will be a great thing.

@bluestriped bee: I didn't hear back from my glucose test... My hospital is a "no news is good news" kind of place so I'm hoping that means I passed! Glad your classes went well...and how awesome is that , that you met some other multiple mamas to connect with!

Dh and I are off to Boston this week for a last chance getaway before we are the parents of 2(!!) ... I've never been so I'm looking forward to it. I really can't believe I enter my 3rd trimester tomorrow !

@Charm54: DH is going to Boston next week for a bachelor party. Have fun!

@Mrs. Pickle: Oh, you had to schedule something separate for the glucose test? I should call my OB at lunch. I have been in the waiting room and have seen people with the orange drink in hand so I know they do it in my office. I just don't know if you have to schedule something different. It might make sense because all of my scheduled appts so far were for an u/s and a OB visit.

@bluestriped bee: my doctor's office has a lab on site. I don't have to make an appointment, I just have to stop by and do it before my 28 week appointment. It's pretty convenient to have a lab right there at the office.

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@Mrs. Pickle: Oh. I know there is a lab with staff to collect and process bloodwork and my OB's office always asks that we leave a urine sample. It might be a lab tech that checks my urine with a test strip or something. Yeah, I have no idea. I'm calling my OB now.

Hmmm, going to have to try to figure out pictures when I get back. We went to Pisa today to see the leaning tower, pretty cool. It is so hot here! I am melting. Ready to go back to Canada, where it will also be getting pretty warm, but not quite as high or consistently hot as this.

Hoping everyone passes glucose tests. I am nervous for mine because I know someone that had it just by fluke and she said it was horrible. I'm doing mine at my 28 week appointment. They just told me to come in a bit earlly to drink it and then they will take my blood halfway through the appointment.

I started reading "the active birth partner" that I borrowed from my midwife's book collection. My hubby downloaded it too so he can be more informed. It's actually making me feel better to read more about labour. Hoping when the time comes I will get to put this stuff into practice, but we''ll see how baby is positioned at 32-34 weeks.

Anyone having hip pain sleeping on their side? It might just be this bed..

Happy Canada Day and Fourth of July as we are coming up to those!

@NovBaby1112: Feeling ok! I can't believe it's three(ish) months to go too! Excited though. I've finally been trying to figure out how we're going to do the kids room but need to get stuff ordered.

@bluestriped bee: That class sounds really nice. It'd be nice to keep in touch with other parents of multiples since I bet it's a whole other world in some ways!

@Charm54: Have fun on your trip!

@babycanuck: I'm nervous about the glucose too because if it comes back positive and I'm already on such a limited diet I really don't know what I'm going to do. But I figure my OB must have some kind of solution right? Are you still feeling sick at all?

@Mrs. Goose: I get hip pain some nights, I think it's if I stay on one side too long maybe?

As for me I had my 25 week appointment, everything seems normal! Going back at 28 weeks for a regular visit and glucose test, and booked tickets to visit out of town family one more time before baby (in August.) I've been trying to do the stuff with dd that I know might be difficult with a newborn/infant. I think she's been having a lot of fun.

22 weeks. does anyone else have a lot of pelvic pressure after being on their feet all day? i photograph weddings and overall i feel fine at the end of the day, but my lady parts feel swollen or sore? almost like right before i get my period, but no cramping and blood. i can feel baby moving, so i'm not worried about her, but i don't remember this last time around.

Found out the glucose test is even more fun than previous today. Have to fast for 8 hours and it's 2 hours now instead of just one.

@birdofafeather: Yes, I had that badly my whole second pregnancy. Exactly how I felt whenever I was on my period. I have been lucky so far and haven't had it too much this time around, but I know exactly what you're talking about!

I am in the third trimester now, YAY! Feeling and seeing baby move like crazy (you can literally see my shirt moving around from across the room) and now we are just focusing on trying to pick out a name. It's pretty hard picking out a name to go with two existing sibling names!
At 27 weeks I had already put on 20 lbs. YIKES! I am gaining way more than I did with my last pregnancies, so I am hoping slow down and even out here soon.

So 2 times in the last 2 days I've gotten what feels like a menstrual cramp but the pain was higher (like above by belly button) and I also had pain in my back and got super hot. It lasted for like 1-2 minutes tops and then went away. Since this is my first time I'm not sure, would that be possibly a braxton hicks contraction? Or maybe just a random pain? Any thoughts?

  37. BelugaBean

    pomegranate / 3516 posts

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I've gained more this pregnancy than last time but I've been so much healthier (I love ice cream but eating better overall and exercising regularly). I'm hoping I was just gaining more in the first two trimesters and that it'll slow down soon!

@renee0106: Does it come in waves? Waves of menstrual cramp type feeling was how my actual contractions felt last time. I didn't feel BH last time but this time, for me, it's more of a tightening all over, not cramps. I would definitely ask though, the location is off. I've had some round ligament pain this time across my belly button too so maybe it's that?

  38. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@renee0106: when I have BHs, it is just an uncomfortable tightening of my whole stomach, like a fist clenching. No temperature changes. I would ask your doctor!

@birdofafeather: I get a TON of pressure on my lady parts after walking around, standing for long periods, or getting up after lying down or sitting. For me, I can literally feel my veins swelling--super fun!

We are traveling right now--we were in San Diego and I got to meet @birdofafeather, yay! And now we are in Washington (and maybe I will get to meet @Rainbow Sprinkles!). It is INSANELY hot here, and I feel like my fuse is 10x shorter with everyone. Traveling while pregnant is also no joke--I am kind of looking forward to being back at home soon! Other than that, baby girl is moving around a ton, especially at night, which is so fun! I have my next appt and glucose test on 7/14.

@birdofafeather: @hilsy85: I've been feeling the same pain and pressure, and I think I may actually have some varicose veins in my lady bits. It can be so sore and painful!

  40. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@hilsy85: Oh, are you in Seattle for the 4th of July weekend? Yeah, there's a heat wave going on right now. We caved this year and got a portable air conditioner. I guess being a pregnant is good reason to cave. Plus, we might have this heat all summer and that does not sound good to me.

So I had my 24 week u/s yesterday, both babies are doing well. Four weeks ago, both babies were measuring pretty much the same (48 & 46 percentile). Now, the boy is bigger at 53-57% (can't remember the exact number) and the girl is at 28%. We are saying the boy is relaxing and lounging away in there, while the girl is super active and on the go. We even got a picture of the baby girl flexing her arm. So both babies are head down and still in the same position (girl on my right and boy on my left). The girl is still the lower baby so if I deliver vaginally, she will come out first. U/S tech said that there might be a good chance that they will stay in that position. Which is good for my chances of a vaginal birth. It would be optimal for both babies to be head down and with no signs of placenta previa (both babies' placentas are out of the way). So far things are headed in that direction. The only thing is they would also prefer that both babies are about the same size. Baby boy is larger. OB said I could go right for the c-section or try the vaginal birth but there might be a chance that if baby B is too big that I would have to have a c-section to get baby B out. Prior to learning this info, I didn't have any issues with possibly delivering both ways, but I asked my OB why I wouldn't want it and she said some mom's don't want to recover from both vaginal and c-section procedures. Yeah, I guess that does sound uncomfortable and painful to have to deal with both. Anyway, we got about 4 weeks before we know the babies final position and weights.

Oh, we did find out that baby boy could be more active than we first thought. When we felt kicking in the middle with a slight lean towards the right, we thought it was the girl. Turns out it could have been the boy with his feet.
