@shellio: kinda long but yeah, we moved about 3.5 hours away (thankfully not cross country!) from where we started our marriage/family for DH's job in February. This basically put us the same distance from our families (1.5-2 hours) but north instead of south and without any friends (and in a city I don't want to raise our kiddos)! Soooo, we're hoping that once DH is done with his probationary period, we can move to a more desirable area similar in lifestyle to where we were before but now only about 30 minutes from our family and my old friends in a place we're super excited about raising our family. DH will still work for his department and have a commute but since his shifts are 24 hours, it's a sacrifice he's willing to make! We just have to make sure all the Ts are crossed and Is dotted before we commit to the move! So we're left kinda twiddling our fingers in the meantime.

@2littlepumpkins: same with us. We're in our place til beginning of February and I'd love to be in our new city by then but that only gives us 6 weeks once DH is done with probation. We'll probably just go month to month until we find a place because we want to buy in the new city! Excited about the possibility but nervous about the next few crazy months. A newborn will be a good distraction while I wait. 😉 But it's hard not knowing many people here and not having the same support system I had in place when DD1 was born. So in that sense, I'm anxious to get closer to old friends and our families.

So I think I might have lost some of my mucus plug last night..?? I have no clue...it was yellowish/clear and kind of long and mucousy- lovey image I know

@NovBaby1112: exciting!! Could mean something...? Or nothing since I know they can regrow.

Just had my 36 week appt. 1cm dilated and she thought she could feel the head, but not effaced at all. Not expecting much more at 36 weeks. Baby is also posterior now (but still head down) so need to try some cat cow yoga poses to get her to turn.

@NovBaby1112: So cool! I can never get over how the doctors can just touch your stomach and know what body part they're feeling. I still can't quite tell.

@Mrs. Pickle: The nursery looks great! I'm a big fan of the ledge shelving so the books are almost artwork themselves. Might have to "borrow" that idea Seems like a good size room too.

@Mrs. Pickle: Baby might just be squirming around but not a full transverse. I was told mine was in one position but then by the time I had an US 2 weeks ago it had swivelled around but the head was still down. I didn't even think there was space left for it to do that, but I guess there is. As long as it's where it needs to be at go-time all should be good

@hilsy85: I have no idea, some stuff I read says labor can happen a few days after or a few weeks....not much help! That's exciting you are dilated! Mine couldn't tell if baby was anterior or posterior, I've been trying to figure it out.

@NovBaby1112: my OB does an ultrasound at every appt, so that's how she was able to tell--not sure she'd be able to tell just by touch!

Anyone have any predictions for when they'll go into labor and size of baby? Could be fun to see how close we are I'm predicting baby girl will be born 10/10, and will weigh 7lbs 8oz, and be 20 inches long.

    @hilsy85: fun!

Wishful thinking has me hoping for next week/weekend, but realistically I'm going to go with 10/2 and I'm estimating 7 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches.

@NovBaby1112: exciting! You might end up next.
Me at just shy of 35 weeks over here is jealous
@Mrs. Pickle: your nursery looks great!

We also are moving shortly after baby. Either nearby to a bigger place or to Phoenix.... so our nursery is pretty boring, it's also the master walk in closet so not huge. I keep meaning to at least make her name in wooden letters but haven't actually done it yet.

I finally got around to calling my family practice doc this morning to set up for Gemma and found out they don't do the in hospital stuff for her. Anyone else run into that? I'm pretty sure they have on staff docs at my hospital but now I'm feeling a bit scrambled. Have to check with my ob....

Oh and predictions....I'm guessing I'm gonna go late. So Oct 28th, my mil is convinced I'm going to have her the 20th tho. And 7 lbs 15 oz. 21 maybe 22 inches long. I had my fingers crossed for little baby but my hubby was a big preemie so I wasn't holding my breath

@hilsy85: My predication is October 6th (My due date :)) 7lbs 6oz and 21 inches long.

Although today at work I've had this strange feeling that I need to get everything done and tied up before the end of the day for my maternity leave. So maybe that means he'll be here this weekend? Lol, but I'm pretty sure it's just wishful thinking.

@MamaBear87: DH and I met baby's pediatrician on Tuesday. She told us it isn't common for practices to send doctors to the hospitals to check the babies anymore. She said the hospital has pediatricians there that will check her and they will let us know when to schedule our first appointment with our pediatrician. So when we are discharged we'll call and schedule that appointment.

    nectarine / 2288 posts

@Mrs. Pickle: thanks! That makes me feel way better. The receptionist I talked to also seemed really confused so I was a bit worried she just didn't know what she was talking about.

    squash / 13764 posts

@MamaBear87: we just had the pediatrician at the hospital do his immediate and 24 hour check up, and went to our regular pedi the day after we were discharged.

  17. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@MamaBear87: same as @hilsy85: we are assigned a hospital dr with privileges at our hospital and then see the pediatrician by day four. Last time we didn't even really talk about it, the hospital just did it, and this time my OB has the name of the pediatrician for the hospital written in my file.

@NovBaby1112: isn't it fun playing the guessing games?

    @hilsy85: I'm guessing 10/4, and about 7lb6oz!

I definitely think this baby has "dropped" and I definitely feel pressure. It's not as bad in the mornings but holy cow, it hurts by the evening.

  19. Mrs. Pickle

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts

I had my 37 week appointment and I'm 1cm dilated. Baby is still head down and "right there" according to my OB. I must be feeling limbs like @2littlepumpkins: said. I'm glad she hasn't flipped!

  20. HyattsMom

@hilsy85: I've predicted a boy on 10/10 and about 8lb10oz - feels like a big boy in there. We have an online pool for friends and family at Babyhunch.com just for fun. DH also predicted a boy. BUT, whenever I've had a dream about it I've had a little girl and same for DH... He also had a dream that I was pregnant the day before we found out so... Either our consciousnesses are aligned or our subconsciousnesses are.

Anyone else feel like baby drops then goes back up then drops then goes back up? Sometimes I can barely walk or move my legs, but other times I feel like he's in my ribs! So confused!

  22. BelugaBean

    pomegranate / 3516 posts

I believe what I predicted to my mom and DH was 10/9, 20 inches and 7lb 13oz.

@2littlepumpkins: Both pregnancies the baby has been all over for me. Both times they've been super low but I can feel them pretty well up near my ribs so I think it's when they stretch or something? I know this one is super low because sometimes I get up from sitting down and I have a lot of pressure. Last Monday she was at -1 station but I almost feel like she may have moved further down from that point.

  23. 2littlepumpkins

    grapefruit / 4455 posts

@BelugaBean: I was wondering if that was a stretch too! I googled and found a babycenter thread where it seemed like people were saying they can drop and go back a lot in 2nd + pregnancies. I don't have my first check until Tuesday!

  24. HyattsMom

    grape / 85 posts

@2littlepumpkins: Definitely feels like it moves around a LOT. I've found that it usually depends on my own position. There have been a lot of times I've had to push a little bum or feet away from my rib cage because it's been pushing too hard. First check on Tuesday so will see where it's at.

  25. Mrs. Pickle

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts

@2littlepumpkins: yeah. I think it's just her being stretched out vs curled up. I prefer her curled up because I hate the feeling of feet in my ribs.

I lost some of my mucus plug last night. I'm hoping that means she'll make her appearance sometime in September.

The twins are leaving the hospital today!! Last night was supposed to be our last night of good sleep. Of course, I was up making them their going home outfits. Well, I have been pumping every 3-4 hours, so I knew I wasn't going to get a full 8 hrs of sleep or something.

Oh these onesies are preemie sized. So tiny.

@Mrs. Pickle: @BelugaBean: hoping that's a good sign for both of you! who would have thought losing mucus plugs would be so exciting!

@bluestriped bee: what a great milestone! And those onesies are so sweet. Hope you all settle in well at home, I'm sure it will be nice to all be under one roof

I made it home from the wedding with no baby - yay! The wedding was beautiful but the day was exhausting. I was so sore everywhere this morning. I'm so glad to be home and have a good night sleep in my own bed. Now the baby can come anytime!

@HyattsMom: @Mrs. Pickle: glad it's not just me!

No mucous plug losing here. I know I want/need to make it til Friday because DH has training for work until Thursday. But after that I'm seriously gonna be itching for my due date to get here!

@bluestriped bee: commented on your other thread but those are so cute! Can't believe they are going home!

@Charm54: congrats on making it back from the wedding!

We finally finished the baby's room this weekend! I've been busy cleaning and getting everything washed and ready. I have my 36 week appointment tomorrow, so I'm interested to see if my OB checks me tomorrow. I'm curious to see if I'm dilated at all, but part of me doesn't want to know since it doesn't necessarily mean anything. We'll see!!

@bluestriped bee: Love the onesies! And congrats on bringing them home!

@bluestriped bee: So cute! Enjoy having those babies home to snuggle.

Still nothing going on for me. I also still haven't felt any Bh. My last week of work is this week! Have my 38 week appointment tomorrow morning. I have a due date twin who had her baby yesterday which freaked me and my husband out a little bit, especially as he is meant to be out of town quite far away for the week. My baby prediction for myself is late though-the 12th. We shall see. I am good with anything after October 1st.

    @jodyblair: Lovely room!

Good luck to everyone for the last few weeks. I hope everyone's babies come happy and healthy and when you want them to! It still seems unbelievable that I am here at this point right now.

@Mrs. Goose: Can your husband fly/get back if he needs to? Hopefully baby comes right on time!

  35. Mrs. Goose

    pear / 1737 posts

@2littlepumpkins: no, not until Thursday or Friday because he is going to remote locations. Later in the week he should only be working a few hours from home. We have had a lot of grief and tears on my part this past week trying to decide if he should call in sick. He's going to go. He doesn't want to, but we are being work responsible and keeping our fingers crossed.

@Charm54: glad you made it to wedding and back!!

@jodyblair: lovely room!! Great job mama!!

I am getting SO frustrated ladies. The last 2 nights I've been having contractions on and off but they never progress. Last night I woke up to a horrific contraction around 2am- it felt like strong period pains that wrapped around my entire belly and back, lasted about a minute, and this continued every 20 minutes until 6am and now they are just gone. I just wish my body would either cut this shit out if I'm not going into labor soon and let me sleep or get this show on the road!

    pear / 1737 posts

@NovBaby1112: If you walk around a lot do you think that would help them progress? Maybe throw in some squats too...
