@jodyblair: The nursery looks great! I love the colors!
@bluestriped bee: Congrats on heading home with your babies, those onesies are adorable!! How exciting!
My prediction: 10/16 (my RCS is scheduled this day, I'll be 40+2) and 9#9oz. I think this baby is bigger than my other two and she is measuring huge. Has to top her big brothers!

@jodyblair: the room looks amazing! And I absolutely love his name.
@Mrs. Goose: I hope you have an uneventful week and your DH makes it back with lots of time to spare. With my first, DH had to go to a remote location in Peru for work when I was 37w...it was stressful but luckily he made it back and I only delivered at 39w.
@NovBaby1112: I totally hear you...I've been having these regular painful contractions for a couple of weeks now and they always fizzle off after a couple of hours. I hate wondering if it's the real deal every time they start up again. I don't want to alert the media (Dh, my parents etc) and make them come home from work or whatever until it's the real thing. But Dh is so worried I won't tell him until it's too late and he will miss it ! (He works 45 min out of town). I'm hoping my water breaks or something so its obvious.
I'm 39w tomorrow and went into labor with DD at 39w so I'm hoping this is the week for us. My prediction is: boy(I'm having strong boy vibes and dreams lately!), 8lb 7oz on Sept 24

@Mrs. Pickle: Sounds like the countdown is on if you've started to lose the plug! Things are definitely getting more exciting in this group by the day

@jodyblair: That's a great nursery! Little Grant will be very comfortable in there for sure. And it looks like your other LO is getting interested in the new adventures too

@NovBaby1112: Ditto on the moving around part. Finally had our pre-natal classes this weekend and one of the biggest lessons DH and I took away from it was to switch up positions every 30 minutes or so once contractions start to help it progress. Heard one story about a couple where the DH was a personal trainer and he set up a "labour circuit" around the house and then hospital room to move her from one position to another to make sure labour didn't stall. FX yours picks up soon so you aren't in waiting mode for too long

@NovBaby1112: ugh that does sound frustrating! I hope it turns into the real thing soon!!

@Charm54: it's so frustrating!! Sorry it's happening to you as well. Haha I feel the same though about when it actually does happen- I feel like I have the uterus that cried wolf
@HyattsMom: interesting! I'll have to remember that next time they start to come on
@hilsy85: thanks, me too!!

@NovBaby1112: Hopefully things either happen for you or stop so you can get some sleep!
I had my 37 week appointment today. They gave me the option of being checked so I took it because I'm curious. She said about 50% effaced, still at -1 station, and just about 0.5cm dilated. I was 0cm at 40 weeks last time so it's something! I'm hoping to make it to October 1, though, I just wanted to see if anything was going on!

@Charm54: that would be stressful. We have just heard so many stories for early and late now from friends so just have to keep our minds preoccupied and make it through each day. I'm glad you got to the wedding!
Had my 38 week appointment which was very uneventful. Head is down and low (which she said gives no indication of when the baby will come, just means he or she is in the right spot) and no cervical check offered or discussed. I don't know if she will do it until maybe 40 weeks. My sister had the same midwife and said the clinic typically likes to just leave everything undisturbed if they can.

so one of my nightmares has come true. DH is now working 2ish hours away every day. My mom said we can alternate me going to her in the city and her coming to me, but I was so worried about this. His company knows I'm due soon, too. Ugh.

@babycanuck: I'm sorry. We ran into trouble with dh's work too. Long story short he is supposed to be able to make his own schedule (or use vacation hours) this month and he planned it around a training this week. He got there this morning and they said they overbooked people and he has to go back next week (when we thought he would be off because he is working a lot early in the "month") ... nothing will happen if he doesn't show up next week but it's really annoying.. this whole time I've been thinking "just make it until Thursday" and that I'd have help with dd after that.
@Charm54: @NovBaby1112: Sorry about the contractions. I have not had anything regular but when I get a lot of pressure/pain in a day or whatever I get antsy about labor! So I can only imagine!

34 weeks for me!
my prediction is 10/27, 7lb5oz, 20in.
@NovBaby1112: i'm nervous about this happening to me too because the first sign of labor was my water breaking! i had no indication beforehand and i'm nervous that i'll have false alarms and i'll worry that something is happening because it happened quickly with DD1.
@Mrs. Goose: i think my appts will be pretty uneventful from here on out too as long as everything stays status quo!
@babycanuck: aw man! is this for the foreseeable future or a short term thing?
pear / 1737 posts
@birdofafeather: uneventful is alright with me!
I am working my way through a sore throat, stuffy nose, and cough. Thanks kindergarten kiddies!
Sounds like some other hubby's work are also being stupid! We told my husband's work at just after 3 months so my expected due date was also not a surprise, but they backtracked on what they promised us. Mine should be working in the office starting next week, so just 40 minutes away from me during the days.

has anyone ordered their breast pump? i did mine early (last time i waited until after baby was born because the law had just changed and i was lazy.... and then it took until 6-8 weeks to get!) i have a hygeia from DD1 and i ordered a spectra s9. i like the closed systems and then for the s9, i like that it has a rechargeable battery!

@birdofafeather: I ended up getting my sister's brand new pump that she never even opened. I think it's a Medela pump in style. DS1 never took a bottle, so I don't have much experience with pumping.
I had my 36 week appointment today and I'm 2 cm and 50% effaced! I know it pretty much means nothing about when I'll go into labor, but I can't help but get excited thinking this little guy will be here soon!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@birdofafeather: not yet, going to get the prescription tomorrow. Planning on the medela PIS, which I paid for last time in 2012. It was recommended by a couple LCs, hygeia is my second choice so I'm glad to hear you like it!

@babycanuck: @2littlepumpkins: sucks you guys have to deal with dh's work being sucky. Hope everything goes smooth and they get to be with you!
@birdofafeather: I tried to order mine. I have a lovely provider that makes you wait til 32 days before you Edd, so I can finally order on wednesday.

I have a "how to labor with gd" class tomorrow. Should be interesting. Hopefully it's taught by the dietician I like but we'll see. Then I have to wait til almost 37 weeks for my 36 week appt but maybe I'll have made some progress by then, downside I'll have my gbs screen late. Guess I should ask them to fast track results.
Can't believe we're all getting so close! And that we have a couple October babies already!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@MamaBear87: I didn't realize it made such a difference with labor! Good luck with the class! So ready for October; and at the same time I feel so busy with dd (probably because I'm so slow now!) I keep thinking how am I gonna have two of them?! Hah!
squash / 13764 posts
@birdofafeather: just ordered it this week? Was debating on the spectra but went with the Medela PIS.
@jodyblair: exciting! Had you made similar progress at this point with LO1?
kiwi / 611 posts
@hilsy85: I think I was 1 cm at 36 weeks with DS but I don't remember how effaced. I have a friend due the day after me and she's already 3 cm and 80% effaced! So crazy!
nectarine / 2288 posts
@2littlepumpkins: I don't think it really will for me since mine isn't crazy. But I guess if you have higher numbers there's extra stuff they do. They also go over breastfeeding and things to watch for after. So I suppose it's not purely labor, that's just what I remembered from the printout

@hilsy85: @birdofafeather: hey ladies! Lurking/prob going to be an October mom at the rate I'm going - but, question. Are you getting New pumps and not reusing from last time?! I was planning on reusing my medela double electric (but getting some new tubes, etc) why get a new one? Now I'm worried I should get a new one too!! Thx!
grapefruit / 4455 posts
@MamaBear87: I am totally ignorant, I thought it just goes away after delivery and that's it!
pineapple / 12053 posts
@hellobeeboston: I'm reusing but having a back up! Usually when I pump, I'm at weddings (photographer) so I don't always have access to a private place with power so that means I was in a hot car or a bathroom. So I figured I should take advantage and get a pump that has an integrated battery! If I WOH FT, I would still get another but stick with the same brand.
nectarine / 2288 posts
@2littlepumpkins: I wish! It's actually a sign that my pancreas is weaker than it should be, it can't keep up with the extra insulin demand. So I have a much higher risk of type 2 diabetes, so much I didn't know before I had it. I have no risk factors other than being 28 and having my first baby so fingers crossed mine isn't an issue once baby is here
honeydew / 7235 posts
@birdofafeather: ahh! Thanks!! I actually have new insurance for this baby maybe I should call and see if they cover anyway! Thx!
squash / 13764 posts
@hellobeeboston: my pump last time never worked right! So I got a new one.

I'm jealous of you American mamas with your free pumps! I'll be reusing my PISA from DD...just spent all last night sterilizing the parts and bottles. I will likely EP again so I'm hoping it will hold up !
honeydew / 7235 posts
@hilsy85: ok thanks!! It was a good reminder anyway to pull out my old one and make sure it's working properly!!
pomegranate / 3516 posts
I ordered my pump a week or two ago and it came within a few days. I actually just had a manual pump last time so I'm excited to have the double electric this time. I just got the PIS since that's what I wanted last time (and was the brand of manual pump I had) and I already had a ton of medela accessories.
grape / 85 posts
@Charm54: I know what you mean - between both insurance companies for DH and I my PIS still isn't covered. However, Well.ca is a great site for pumps and accessories. Just so happens that their pumps are on sale for 15% off right now (lowest I've seen so far), and they go on sale at other times of the year too. I picked mine up during Breastfeeding Awareness Week in August this year.
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@HyattsMom: oh thanks for the heads up! I'll keep that site in mind in case I ever need spare parts. I bought my pump in the U.S. last time...it was $150 cheaper! But now that our dollar sucks it wouldn't have been such a good deal. I ended
up EPing so definitely got my $$ worth.
grape / 85 posts
@Charm54: You're welcome. Yeah, our crappy dollar right now really makes it harder to justify ordering from the U.S. Just be careful with Well.ca... it's addictive. They honestly have amazing sales on things like vitamins and other baby things as well. I've basically had packages arriving from there almost once a week my entire pregnancy just from taking advantage of sales. lol

I just had my 38 week appointment. I'm 2cm, almost 3 cm, 80% effaced and -2 station. He told me he wouldn't be surprised if I have him this week! I haven't had any real contractions yet, well maybe 1, so I guess we'll see.
He said if I don't have him before next week Tuesday they will induce me after that! I had it in my head they would make me wait till 41+ weeks, so I'm super excited it could be next week!
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@birdofafeather: I should probably get a new one!! Going to find out what my insurance covers...
@BelugaBean: sounds like you are making good progress for 37 weeks!
@babycanuck: I'm sorry about your DHs job, that sounds so stressful right now
@jodyblair: that's exciting! I love hearing other people's stats! Can't believe we are all so close...
@renee0106: that's so exciting! I hope you go on your own soon! I keep forgetting to ask what station I am at...I have my 38 week tomorrow and I'm hoping I made some progress from last time...

Not dilated at all!! but thinning and baby is very low, though I don't know the #s. Also, lost a pound and fluid is still borderline so we will check again next week. Ob says she doesn't want me going past my due date, and that baby is so low she thinks I would still have a successful induction if need be.

Hi Girls! I've been MIA for what seems like forever...I read/catch up every few days but never seem to have enough time to post.
Had my 37wk appt yesterday and went from barely fingertip dilated last week to 3cm+ yesterday! And over 50% effaced. I have been having massive amounts of contractions on top of all of the BH's so she went ahead and stripped my membranes. Last time with my son, that put me into labor 12hrs later, didn't work that way last night but I haven't been feeling very good today. Took a 2hr nap with DS1 after he got home from preschool and woke up super nauseous and ended up throwing up what I had for breakfast over 7hrs before! How that happens I don't know, but having nausea/vomiting at 37wks should be against the law. It really is hell on earth. The last few weeks my "morning" aka all day/night sickness has been making a comeback . I'm hoping this little one makes his appearance sooner than later.....I'm miserable and tired of the constant wondering if these contractions are "it" or not. The pressure down low is soo uncomfortable, then he starts punching me or kicking my ribs and I feel like crying.
I've been saying for weeks that I think he will be here prior to my birthday which is 10/4....my BFF swears he will be here on/before the 30th....which is NEXT WEEK!!! The Dr. told me yesterday that she thinks he could be here this week and is guessing him around 6.5-7lbs or so. I've gained 35lbs thus far and she says it's mostly baby/placenta because there's not a lot of "squishy" areas in my belly that would indicate extra fluid.

@renee0106: exciting!! baby will be here soon!
Anyone else having crazy inner thigh cramps? As soon as I stand up or start walking, I get cramps shooting down my inner thighs. So annoying! I also feel like I am constantly being punched in the cervix...not fun! So ready to get this show on the road.
@Treytonsmom2011: ugh sorry about the nausea
