I am almost eight weeks pregnant. I just wiped and the tissue was very light orange. Anyone have experience with this? I am freaking out. Dr. Google says maybe an infection. But can't help thinking it is blood and is beginning of the end.

With my first I had a light amount of bleeding at 8 weeks. I called my OB and he brought me in right away to check on things. My cervix was still closed but he sent me for an ultrasound just to be sure. We were so scared but everything turned out fine and we got to see that little flicker of her heartbeat. Just call your OB and they will bring you in or tell you what to do!

@autumn865: thanks. I have an ultrasound already scheduled with my RE in the morning. Going to be a long night though!

@raintreebee: I just wanted to send a HUG and definitely hope that everything is ok! Spotting is common during early pregnancy, often due to a friable cervix. Did you overexert at all today, or DTD? I'm sure your OB can reassure you if you call.
ETA: Also, what kind of progesterone support are you on? Crinone can also be irritating and cause spotting. Glad you are going into the RE tomorrow!

I spotted twice in my first pregnancy and was terrified but everything was fine. Hugs! Maybe read a book or watch a movie to get your mind off!

I had spotting in the first trimester like you described with my DD. I hope all is ok with you. I'm glad you have a scan in the morning. Spotting or bleeding is not necessary anything to worry about!

Try to stay calm. I had this early on in my pregnancy mine was like a peachy color, then it was like light pink to rusty color discharge/spotting. Because my cycle was irregular I couldn't exactly tell the doctor how far along I was when they asked. I couldn't see an OB right away because I had to get a referral first during the time I waited for the referral I was sent twice to the ER to get ultrasounds and every other day to get blood work done to check my levels. The PA (my regular doc was on vacation) speculated the discharge could be due to either a yeast infection or UTI. The discharge/spotting lasted a week or so, and then it went away. Finally, when I did see the OB she said everything looked fine and that sometimes spotting does occur in early pregnancy, she thinks most likely it was a yeast infection.
This was so scary for me so I feel for you, but just try to stay calm, call your OB or primary care physician and let them know what's going on. Also, during the time I was waiting to see the OB I was told to go on bed rest by the ER doctors for a few days(I think they just didn't know what was going on). Just try not to stress and stay positive. Wishing you the best for you and your LO

@GreenThumb: PIO so I wouldn't think that could do it. I did take a long walk today....
Thanks everyone! I hate the first trimester!

@raintreebee: Ugh, so sorry you're having to go through this stress. Hopefully it's nothing, but I know how hard early pregnancy is with IF! Good luck tomorrow!!!

I've had the same type/color of spotting as @Mrs.Waffles: for the past several days (it's slowly tapering off now), and I know how scary it is. The first night it was a significant amount. No cramping or pain at all, and it wasn't bright red. I went in for an U/S yesterday, and baby is perfect (12wks tomorrow). In my case, I have a sub-chorionic hematoma, and I haven't heard back from the OB yet but she was pretty sure it's resolving.
I know it's hard, but try to relax...at least get off your feet and take it easy. As long as it's not red like new blood and you're not cramping you're probably okay.
Good luck and big hugs!

@raintreebee: I had spotting in my first pregnancy and everything was fine! Had a sensitive cervix I was told, spotted later on due to a yeast infection too. Lots of extra blood flow. Try not to worry too much - good luck tomorrow!!

Any intercourse lately? I often see the faintest of colouring on the tissue afterwards. Your cervix has a ton of blood flow to it right niece even forcing a bowel movement could break a few blood vessels. Crossing my fingers that everywhyyhing is ok mama

Just an update: no more discharge since last night and ultrasound was normal (doc said 138 heartbeat at 8 weeks was fine, although it seems a little low from what I've been reading). Anyway, relieved but still ready to get out of the first trimester!

@raintreebee: So glad everything checked out ok. I was going to comment that I had my SCH at about 8-10 weeks. It was scary, made me feel fragile, but that baby is now 19 months old. I hope the rest of the 1st trimester flies by for you.
