Thank you all for your congratulations and well-wishes! We came home yesterday afternoon but it took forever to get all the paperwork signed, and then time just flew once we were home. So I'm really just now catching up on messages and stuff.
Baby Ada ended up being a little peanut at 6 lbs 9 oz and 16 inches. After pushing her out, though, I'm SO glad she wasn't much bigger -- I don't know how some of you mamas do it! We were able to have a completely med-free birth, and my L&D nurse and midwife were just so awesome. Apparently I pushed for two hours, though it didn't feel like that long (except it also felt like FOREVER). I ended up with a second-degree tear but I feel like I'm healing reasonably well already -- just mainly sore there and around my tailbone, but it's so much better to be home and out of that awful hospital bed.
A is doing well, a bit of jaundice so we're headed to the pediatrician later today. She had me worried overnight because she totally refused to nurse for hours, no matter what I tried, but she's been eating well this morning so I think we just have a very stubborn little one on our hands. I'm going to ask for help in case she keeps this up, though, but I imagine it will help when my milk comes in, too.
Anyway, I will probably go gold soon and post a birth story with photos, but I wanted to give an update here!
Congrats to all the other December mamas whose babies have arrived, and I'll be watching for the arrivals of the rest!!
