I have a question for you all. Would you get your 3d/4d ultrasound on the same day as your initial gestational diabetes test? I was scheduled for both in the same appointment and started wondering if that is the smartest idea. All that sugar may make the baby pretty active - would that affect how well our ultrasound goes?
I don't want to pay for it if she's going to be putting up a fuss and flipping and flopping and not allowing us to really see her!

I always liked the u/s where she was more active the best. The tech commented on how active she was at each u/s we had (the last one was at 20 weeks), but she never had any problems seeing what she needed to see.

i voted yes because i would hate to make another trip to the doctors - only because it takes 20-30 minutes to get there. but i don't think it would really matter? unfortunately, i had it at different places, so i wouldn't be able to anyway.

I would think it would be a good thing to have the baby active during the ultrasound, unless you were trying to get a still picture? But if its a a 4D then you will get a recording of it

Go for it, it does save a trip to the hosp! I scheduled mine that way on purpose.

in my experience, it's much better when the baby is active during a fetal ultrasound. when they are sleeping and not as active/"cooperative" it takes much longer and is tougher on mom.
