I ate the hell out of all deli meat for both pregnancies.
My take is you can get hit by a car when crossing the street, but we still do. Many of the "restrictions" are ridiculous in my book.

I don't tell DH, but yes, I've been eating deli meat every now and then! If you're really trying to follow the rules though, cooking up a turkey tenderloin with a good amount of salt (I bake it covered at 300 deg. for 40 min) and then slicing it thin is a pretty good facsimile.

If your nervous could you buy a turkey breast to roast and cut up in your oven? That being said I have totally ate deli meat this pregnancy and enjoyed every moment of it. I am a cold sandwich person 150%

Ok so this isn't deli meat related but a pregnant woman here lost her baby because of a listeria outbreak in Brie cheese, I'm not sure how far along she was. I also just found out a freind of mines friend lost her baby well into her second trimester due to listeria but they weren't able to find the source of it after very thorough investigations.
In saying that for my second pregnancy while on holiday for 3 weeks I ate my bodies weight worth of feta cheese because I totally forgot it was on no eating list. I also ate heaps of smoked salmon also on the no eating list.
So really could you get away with eating it every now and then. Probably. Should you eat it everyday ? I wouldn't.

I ate it!! Not that often, but whenever I felt like it... Maybe once a week or every couple weeks?

Eat a turkey sandwich, girl!
Listeria is just as common - maybe more? - in fresh fruits & veggies.

With my first pregnancy I never did. Second time around I was a lot more chill. You've been going through hell with morning sickness...have the sandwich, girl!

I ate it, but it didn't taste the same when I was pregnr so I didn't eat it anymore. I craved hamburgers.

I' ve eaten it through my whole pregnancy. When I asked my doctor if I should avoid it she told me not to be ridiculous and to stop googling otherwise I'll be on a boiled chicken diet throughout pregnancy.
