I've had raw local honey in hot water while pregnant. I guess I'm okay with it from trusted sources.

Absolutely if I trust the source! That's how I feel about most raw (dairy products, etc.) foods when I feed my family.

I'm dumb---what's wrong with raw honey? Or different I guess from honey in the store?

I've had it in decaf tea when my allergies go nuts.

I thought it was fine while pregnant but not ok to give to infants.

@ElbieKay: agreed. My understanding is that infants do not have the stomach enzymes to break down botulism toxins in honey so definitely not okay for babies, but obviously when pregnant, they are exposed to your adult enzymes before being exposed to the fetus. unless there is some other reason I'm unaware of?

@singingbee: I think when you're pregnant you're more susceptible to infections because of your weakened immune system, and raw honey contains botulism toxins?

I didn't use raw honey because it's unpasteurized and I was a worry wart. I used to eat a tablespoon of raw honey a day, before getting pregnant.
I did eat regular honey, though

I didn't, but now looking back, I think I was a little crazy about that type of thing.

Nope, nothing unpasteurized for me.

Yup! I think it has major health benefits. We get ours from a local farm.

I had it in tea....three days in a row! And will continue to do so.
Mine is local, dark, raw. I went to the store and looked at the regular honeybee honey, and it isn't pasteurized either! At least it didn't say so on the label.
