I don't think what she said was terrible. Typical for a celebrity.
However, I enjoyed THIS amazing donut this morning. I've eaten super healthy this whole pregnancy and indulging once in awhile is healthier, in my opinion, than banning something completely from your diet. @erinpye: from HoD - the best!!

I've seen so many comments on HB about parents never feeding their LOs any sweets or junk food. I don't really see the difference between those types of comments and this woman's statements (I honestly had no idea who she was until this article).

There are only 3 or 4 quotes from her in the whole "article" and they could easily have been taken out of context. Sure, she probably said those things, but she may have said a whole lot more that wasn't included. I'm sure the "reporter" set her up to answer the way she did, too.
I think people get a little bit too defensive when it comes to this topic. She didn't say say that all pregnant women who eat non-organic junk are bad moms and are inferior to her...she just said that she is of the OPINION that pregnancy isn't an excuse to gorge yourself and therefore, she's not. She even included the fact that she strayed from being so strict with herself and ate pizza once in awhile.
It seems like whenever anyone makes a choice for themselves and expresses an opinion about it, people on the other side of the fence immediately go on the defense and say that person must be lying, etc, isn't normal, is a bitch, or whatever the case may be.
Honestly, if you don't care what she's eating, I am sure she doesn't REALLY care what you're eating!

@IRunForFun: I agree with everything you said, and I don't think most of us are actually worked up about it, just think she could have used better words to make her more likeable. She just comes off as so full of herself. (eta, like most celebs, but that's why I would have never read this if not for hb) But I've also thought about the media taking things out of context. Either way I just responded with my gut reaction, I don't know her, don't follow her, and don't really care. Just figured I'd comment since I clicked open the thread & article.

She sounds a bit over the top for me but whatever works for her. I think there's a difference between not using pregnancy ad an excuse (which I agree with) and only being able to physically eat French fries in your first trimester (like I did!) everyone's entitled to their opinion, it's hardly anything to be offended over. I do feel bad for her baby though! She's in for an interesting upbringing it seems!

I don't think anybody needs an excuse to eat anything. If the diet is reasonable overall, a donut once in a while won't hurt anybody.
Who knows though, this may be a snippet of a quote completely out of context. The media is terrible for that.
