In a few weeks we are spending a weekend away with my family and DH wants to do something subtle to announce; so no big brother shirts!
Any ideas?
A couple ideas we've already talked about:
1. A shirt that says, "I won't share my toys"
2. Giving DS an old labelmaker to play with and then one someone asks why say because he needs to label his things.
I'm not loving either of these so give me some more ideas!

Hmm, maybe something on the mantle? Like a mommy, daddy, and 2 baby pumpkins??

Could you pack some baby clothes in your son's suitcase? And when he pulls them out, just say something about not needing them quite yet?

Oooh, I'll play. How about get a tiny pair of baby shoes and put them inside your own shoes (or DH's shoes) that you pack. Then when it's time for everyone to go out, be sure to take those shoes out of your suitcase and put them on in front of everyone, then make a mini deal over something "stuck" inside your shoes. Then take them out and say "What are those doing in there?"

Congrats!!! Could you bring along a small toy your son has outgrown and somehow incorporate that? Like "wait, why did I bring this with us? Oh, I guess because we'll be needing it again soon!"
When we told dh's dad, he literally walked in and was like "hey grandpa!" and he totally missed it. Dh must have used the word grandpa like 10 times before he was like "hold on, are you pregnant?!" So apparently that can be subtle too lol.

What about bringing baby foods to munch on- baby carrots, baby corn, baby zuchini etc.

Could you pull out some catalogs and look for a big kid bed? Or teach your son to play peek a boo with the baby?

Make t-shirts for you to wear each day with a graphic clue located in the same place each day. . First day can be a small heart over your tummy, 2nd day maybe an arrow on each side pointing to your tummy, the last day wear one that says Bebe or something. I bet you can find someone to make some artsy graphics for you that aren't cheesy. It would be funny to see how many days it would take someone to notice!

I'm in the camp of not making a big deal so I would just mention it casually in conversation. Otherwise, I'd do the normal big brother shirt.

You could get him a boy baby doll to bring then if/when people ask about it you can say you are getting him prepared to be a big brother by being gentle with his doll. We got our DS one of the tiny ones from target

My brother bought his LO a shirt that had only child stroked out, and under it big brother. They put a shirt on over top and buttoned it wrong so Nana would fix it and read that shirt:)
