Tomorrow LO has an ultrasound scheduled for her hips. The orthopaedic is concerned because her hips are tight and her legs don't naturally flop to the side (like a frog). She can (and does) move her legs around, but if she moves them to the side, they won't go all the way down.
I'm trying to see if anyone else has a LO with legs that don't flop.

Mine LO's do, but she had to have a ultrasound b/c she wa breech and supposedly, that makes her more likly to get hip displasia. She's fine though.

Are they checking for hip dysplasia? My close friend's son was diagnosed with that and had to wear a brace for about his first year of life. Luckily he outgrew it and is running around like normal now. I hope everything goes well at your appt.

That's interesting, the first I heard of these ultrasounds was when we were at our first doctors visit. They're standard, all babies have one, either at the 4 week WBV at the doctors office or at the hospital.
My son's didn't flop either, he's walking now, all normal developmental milestones so far. Good luck with the appt.

@lemondrop: Thanks for asking! Everything came out fine. The doctor said he that even though her good are tight, it shouldn't affect her development and they should loosen up gradually on their own very soon. Yay!

@BabyBoecksMom: A lot of how they hold themselves has to do with how they were positioned inside you. It all loosens up with time, usually but it's so nice that they checked!
