Secondly, don't freak out about the drinking/cheese/whatnot. You and baby are fine. Just don't continue doing it!

You're not a terrible mama at all. How late is your period? I would give your ob a call and see when they want to see you in.

I think the first thing to do is give your OBGYN a call. You likely won't have an appointment until you're about 8-10 weeks. Do you know the first day of your last period?

I would agree to head out and get some prenatal vitamins and start taking those. And I wouldn't worry about the drinking or soft cheeses.

Congratulations! I know this is a little freaky, especially if you weren't going to actively TTC for another year or two, but take care of yourself, and I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!

I know the feeling! You'll be fine though, Seriously! My husband was unemployed when we found out and we made it through. You have lots of time to prepare and plan. My sister is pregnant (unplanned) and she didn't find out until 10 weeks so don't feel bad about not realizing! Hopefully you remain symptom free.

@travellovers: I'm sure you're scared, but congrats! 4-5 days sounds like a normal period (and a first day of last period of 3/19 would put you at 6 weeks--you and I would be due the same day, 12/24 ) I won't even see my doctor for a couple of weeks! Try not to worry about what you've had to eat or drink. The baby is just now starting to share nutrients with you (I think, maybe not even yet, but not earlier!)

@travellovers: It sounds as if you had a normal period rather than implantation bleeding. I've never had implantation bleeding, but I think it's just a bit of spotting rather than a full blown bleed.

@travellovers: Congrats! And your baby will be fine - I split a bottle of champagne with my husband 2 days before I found out, oops.

Also, I traveled internationally at 8 months pregnant, and it was fine. Just check with your doctor. Mine had me buy compression socks and get up every hour and walk about the airplane. At 6 months pregnant I felt pretty good and would have definitely have traveled. Congrats again!

@travellovers: Congratulations! I can imagine your surprise but you are absolutely fine! It's common for women to not find out for a while after their missed period. Just start taking prenatals, make an appointment, drink more water and you are good!

@travellovers: First welcome to HB! I've flown at 6 months and was fine. I also had compression stockings and got up regularly. My doc also prescribed heparin injections but that was it.
