Mine was not. I told a few online friends first and told him that evening after I got home from work. It was so hard not to tell him during the day.

Not with DS1, my best friend was with me when I tested. With DS2, yes, he was the first person I told.

The first time, yes. The second time I didn't test until DH had left the house for a golf game (why I did this to myself I don't know), I immediately freaked out and called my mom to talk me off the ledge. I also came on here and messaged @theotherstark It worked out because once my husband came home I was in a much better headspace!

Sort of, he was there for my positive hpt, but when I got the call from my Dr with my beta, my coworker was the first to know.

With DS1 I waited until DH got home to surprise him- I was on weddingbee and told my POAS group before that. He didn't like that I waited. He wished I waited and tested with him there.
With the next three, he was with me. (I lost 2)

With my first, yes. With this one, no! He was at work and I had to tell someone so texted my friend!

Dh was on a plane. My hair stylist was cutting my hair. She knew first.

Yes to both of my pregnancies. There is no one else I'd rather tell first!

@petunia354: I agree. I can't imagine telling someone else before him.

Yes! He was home but didn't know I was testing that day.
ETA: the first time I told one other person before telling him. I wasn't sure I was seeing two lines and wanted a second opinion. He was at work and I wanted to tell him in person.

Nope - I had to text a friend for confirmation each time first!

Yes. I kept bouncing around the house after I tested, which he didn't know what I was doing. He kind of new before I said anything just because of the flutter of excitement at midnight.

Yep! I tested at 7am on a Saturday morning - he was still in bed and I shouted from the bathroom "you were right" (he was convinced I was pregnant and I was not). Probably the first and last time he'll ever hear me say that phrase

No for DDs 1 & 2 - I called my close friend and my sister before I told him either time!
Yes for LO3 because I tested on a Saturday morning and he walked in the bathroom to see me sitting on the [closed] toilet with a look of utter disbelief on my face.

DS: Yes
DD: No. I posted my 10dpo squinter on here because I was sure I was seeing things. And I texted it to my mom, and showed a picture to my best friend at work because I was freaking out a little. D didn't get home until really late that night

With K, yes. With M, I texted a picture to @synchronicity to make sure I wasn't crazy.

DD1 nope, my coworker/friend verified my pee stick and DH was on a plane to Australia. He was the second to know.
DD2 nope, HB POASers checked my pee stick and @travelgirl knew before I told DH.
DD3 yup. I came out of the bathroom crying.

DS - yes
DD - no. I told my BFF first because I was worried. Apparently, I was right to be worried. When we got pregnant again, DH was the first person I told.

Nope. He was away camping for the weekend and I tested at 10dpo. Though we did an IUI and I wasn't sure if it was leftover trigger shot or not. So I called my mom and then I told DH the next day when he got back. Though he didn't get excited until we had our first beta 4 days later. It was a long week.

I think so, although I might have actually posted here in the IVF thread first. I tested after work and of course he was late getting home that night, so I was just dying.

I immediately clicked yes on the poll, then did a double take and realized I can't 100% remember if I told the POAS thread before I told DH. I'm pretty sure I told DH first.
For my first pregnancy (m/c), DH actually told me. I was freaking out and misread the instructions for the digital test and I asked him to go do it. So he knew before I did.

No, yes, no. The first time we'd been TTC for 3 years, done 4 IUIs and an IVF, and were in kind of a holding phase. I was a day late so I tested at work because in my experience, the best way to make your period show up is to spend $10 on a pregnancy test. When it came up positive I think my heart stopped. I wanted to tell my husband in person (actually, it was also our anniversary) but I couldn't not tell ANYBODY, so I texted a picture of the test to a friend who called me immediately, from California, screaming. (this one ended in a miscarriage)
Second positive was our second round of IVF. My beta was going to be on Monday so I'd decided to test on Sunday morning so I'd know ahead of time (my clinic did a beta two full weeks after a 5 day transfer, so I figured I'd get a real answer either way). Woke up at 2am and just lay there stressing about it, decided just to test to stop thinking about it, and it was positive! I woke my husband up to tell him and he mumbled "Oh, good" and went back to sleep. He told me later that he thought I'd just dreamed I was pregnant. I woke him up for real and he was excited, but then we were too excited to sleep so we stayed up for two hours in the middle of the night watching New Girl reruns trying to calm down.
With this pregnancy, we had just started having the "should we have another one?" talk, figuring it was a moo point because the first one had taken five years and two rounds of IVF. He didn't really have any idea of what my cycles were doing, but when I was two days late I decided to test, again at work, just to see (I usually test at work because I don't keep tests around because the temptation to pee on them is irresistible, so I just buy one on the way to work.) When it was positive I wanted to find a cute way to tell him so I texted my friend to ask if she could make me an iron-on tshirt about being a big brother for my son to wear. Then when my husband got home from work I sent our toddler down the hall to greet him wearing the tshirt and holding the positive test (well...he was holding it. He got distracted halfway there and threw it down the stairs).
This turned into a novel!

Definitely yes for the first but I can't remember with no 2 if I told him first or the mom group?
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
DD1 yes. I purposely would only test when he was home.
DD2 no, I posted here first. We weren't TTC and I took an expired test just in case, and it came back positive. So then I posted here to see if expired tests give false positives (spoiler- nope). He had gone in to sleep with the toddler when she woke up super early.
pomelo / 5607 posts
First time he was, because I was so shocked I couldn't wait and think up a cute way to do it. The others I waited till I was sure (got some super squinters early on), so I told my best friend and HB.
nectarine / 2765 posts
Yup....I tested the evening before my beta for ivf and showed him the positive. Then, I was at lunch with my husband and best friend when the dr called and gave my very high beta #'s.

Yes, with all 3 pregnancies. My mom was a close second, cause I told her like 5 minutes later every time.
I'm the worst at keeping this stuff a surprise. Lol
clementine / 778 posts
Yes. I told him right away. We told everyone else after the first trimester.

dD1: yes
Dd2: I posted a pic to HelloBee because I thought it had to be an evap line - you all voted it wasn't even a squinter!
