@DigAPony: 13 pounds?
Holy Macaroni.
Am I doing something wrong? Too many cheeseburgers?

18 weeks and 4 lbs. so much different than my first pregnancy where I was already up 20 lbs with DD

27 weeks as of tomorrow and around 7-8 lbs gained.
Eta: I had the stomach flu a couple weeks ago so I'm sure I'd be higher if it weren't for that.

I feel like a cow compared to everyone else here. I've already gained 5 lbs and I'm 9 weeks.

24 weeks and up about 16lbs from pre-preg. Although 5 of that is vaca pig out weight when we didn't yet know about the LO and I was enjoying as much southern food and seafood as possible. Mmmmm.

Threads like this depress me - I have no idea how everyone stays so small!
@Rainbow Sprinkles: @LovelyPlum: I'll make you feel better. I'm 19 weeks and up 15 lbs.

@MamaBehr: WTH is my thought exactly too! Reading this is making me feel like a heffer...heh.

@ScarletBegonia: (hugs) when you're pregnant, you have to stop looking at the scale. I know it's hard after such an accomplishment, but as ling as you eat relatively good while pregnant, the weight will come back off.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Threads like these don't take into account where people started and other circumstances such as weight loss at the beginning due to MS/nausea. For example, I'm sure that my pre-preg weight is much higher than many of yours because I'm tall with a larger frame. So yes, I haven't gained a lot because I had a fairly high starting weight. No one here is a heifer or should feel bad about their weight. We are all different with different pregnancies and different circumstances.

@MrsKoala: I agree! No one should feel bad about gaining weight during pregnancy, that's what's supposed to happen.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I would love a cheeseburger but I can't eat very much before the acid reflux hits. For dinner I ate an apple, two rice cakes, and a bowl of ice cream in a span of 2hrs. I supposed I could nurse a cheeseburger over the same amount of time but the idea grosses me out.

@BabyBoecksMom: ya it is mind boggling. I thought I was average for gaining 25 and full term! I just can't stop with the donuts/nachos/lattes/curly fries.

@MrsKoala: Exactly.
I started at a much higher weight than I started at with my first pregnancy. I gained 45 pounds that time and I started out really skinny. This time I've gained less than 20 but I'm only 5 pounds lower than I ended at with my last pregnancy. So technically I'm still realistically 30-35 up from where I want to be.

Lol, are only the skinny minis posting on here? I am up 33 lbs at 38 weeks
pear / 1787 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: ha! No way, no such thing as too many cheeseburgers.
I started out overweight and was advised to gain 11-15 pounds total. I lost 11 in the first tri and have been gaining steadily since then, so I'm now at a net gain of +13.

31 weeks ... Up 4 pounds from pre-pregnancy, but up 11 pounds from the first visit to my midwife at 16 weeks.

I thought I was right on track, but you're all making me feel bad. I'm 19 weeks and up 12 lbs

@calsmom: Don't feel bad...I'm up 1-2 lbs at 8 weeks and am reading this thinking, what's wrong with me for not having lost 5-10 lbs at this point?
bananas / 9118 posts
No idea- my belly and baby are measuring right for my dates, and that's all I pay attention to. Obsessing about the scale was not a good thing for me last time, so I stopped looking this time around.
Weight posts make me cringe because everyone has their own normal during pregnancy. There is a lot of pressure in both directions- gaining too fast or losing weight and gaining too slow.

@spaniellove: I had crazy bloat early on, but accompanied by terrible nausea, so they cancelled each other out.
papaya / 10343 posts
@spaniellove: nothing is wrong with you! You are probably already at a healthy weight. I lost but I was overweight to start off with. So even though I wasn't throwing up, I was eating less (probably closer to a healthy amount!) and that was enough for me to drop weight.

@Danizaur: Thank goodness for you ! I'm at 22 weeks and I've gained about 18lbs - with a steady increase of about a pound a week!!! Ack!
honeydew / 7916 posts
@mrsmate: @Mae: I'm supposed to be eating extra protein to counteract the weight loss from my seizure meds, so weight gain is actually the goal...it's just hard when I'm reading this and extrapolating to think I might need to be rolled around by the end!

I won't consider my numbers my "real numbers" until this baby meets the world. My girlfriend was measuring right on the same track as I am with her pregnancy a year ago, and then after 30 weeks she gained about 40 more pounds due to retention. So, while this thread is fun to see and compare, even comparing to yourself can be a trick because you juuust never know. Eep!
persimmon / 1081 posts
@spaniellove: of course weight gain is actually the goal. I'm sure even overweight moms are supposed to gain a little!
I had an u/s today at 32+2 bc I hadn't gained any weight. On the report they wrote that the u/s was done due to "poor maternal weight gain". It felt like I got a D on a math test.

I have been really sick since pretty much conception. Now out at 22 weeks I have finally gained back a small amount of the weight I lost being so sick. I would wish the morning sickness I have ha on anyone.

I'm 30 weeks and up 23 lbs. The strange part is it's all in my belly! I was never sick though, and I've been constantly hungry the whole pregnancy!

Gosh I've gained more than you skinny minnies! I'm at 30 weeks and have gained 27lbs! Guess I should put back the piece of cake that I just set aside for myself....
