my mom was. i don't think there was really an option to find out the sex back then via ultrasound. however, my MIL knew DH was a boy bc she was over 35 and had amnio.

Nope, BUT they were told the wrong sex when it came to my sister! You can imagine the confusion that came when my mom woke from her emergency cesarean (she was put under) to hear "you want to hold your baby girl?" when the scan had said she was a boy! lol

yes, for all 3. they didn't do ultrasounds then, unless they thought there was a problem. she had 1 with me, because they thought she was having twins, but that was the only one. she didn't find out what she was having though.

Nope - they thought I was going to be a boy! That's 1982 ultrasound technology for you.

Not sure about me (I was adopted- so they got a call to get on a plane, and found out then) or my sister M (not adopted.) But my mom said with the youngest, R, apparently she did. She told us once that the tech asked her if she wanted to know and she said no. The tech said "oh you must want a boy since you have 2 girls!" and my mom said they didn't care either way would be great. And the tech goes "Oh, GOOD!" She never said more clearly that it was a girl but it was pretty obvious by her relief that my mom didn't want a boy, that it was a girl!

Yes! For me and my sister. I was 13 when she was born, and in the room when they announced it was a girl. So cool!
