I've hit that stage in pregnancy where pretty much everybody I interact with on a daily basis knows that I'm pregnant, and am heading into the time where I cease to be a human being and start to be a baby oven. By which I mean that instead of saying "How are you?" people ask "How's the baby?" What do you say to this? I find it really annoying and mostly just shrug and say "I have no idea" but there's got to be a better way to handle it.

I say fine. Or something something like "He's an active little guy!" Because I feel a ton of movement.

i got that this morning. i was talking to my coworker about my cat has to be taken to vet today and his liver might be failing and we don't know what's going to happen....she brushed it off and said "how is the baby doing?" i was kind of surprised and just said "fine, nothing new".

I usually say "oh she's kicking away." The question doesn't really bother me. I figure its better they ask how she is doing than how I am and I have to lie (because no one really wants to know how miserable you are).

For now my friends and family still ask me how I'm feeling first. I'm fine. Baby's fine. Let's move on!

"Kicky" or "running out of room." Or "seems to be doing jumping jacks today."

My usual response was always "wiggly." But it definitely annoyed me. I told my mom to stop, but couldn't really say that to anyone else.

I say something like still growing, or kicking up a storm.
@clover: I've started being more honest when they ask how I'm feeling! Pretty much my answer is, you know, pregnant. Huge. Tired. My back hurts. Goes with the territory.
Usually when it's other moms they just agree and aren't put off at all. -
I have said in the past: "fine", "good", "still there", and "I don't know". I think after a while people don't know what to say to you or how to interact and they feel obligated to make it about your pregnancy/baby. I have always thought it is a silly question though. I ask how are things going? or, how are you? not how is your baby inside you!
I have now started getting questions about if I am feeling anything (being over a week overdue). Nothing has strayed into awkward territory yet. Someone random asked me if I felt any pressure yet. That's about as personal as it has gotten from a stranger.

I wasn't really bothered by this last pregnancy and would answer good or growing. There was one coworker who would always ask how are the two of you doing every time he said me which I though was really sweet that how I was doing mattered too!
This pregnancy, most people don't really know yet but I'm sure they'll figure it out soon.

I typically say "fine" while shrugging. I think it's super awkward.

It it's a family member or close friend I say something like, "I can only assume she's fine!"
Other people, I just smile and say fine.

Hmm, I don't get this question much. I guess my mom asks how her grandchild is doing, but coworkers usually ask about me instead. To the former question, I usually say "fine", to the latter I usually say "overall, I can't complain." I like when people ask after us.

depending on who asked, I took it as an excuse to complain.
sitting on my bone and it kills! or kicking me right here in this rib, gah! or, not letting mommy eat a whole meal, that's for sure.
