Just heard from a coworker, " WOAH YOU REALLY POPPED! "
I'm going to say she was well meaning and that I've been working remote a lot recently... not taking it as a rude comment.

I actually don't mind comments on my size but mine was last week from my doctor..."You're a tall thin girl...well, usually." lol thanks I didn't realized I'd grown to the size of two people lol

LO's music teacher said yesterday, 'you look great. you are all belly!' That is the kind of thing I like to hear...especially because the last two have been "wow, you're really big for how far along you are." Not nice to say!

A really young coworker saw me and said "whoa, you're huge!" It didn't bother me though.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@mrsjyw: I've heard that in the past few days as well (and it's true lol). We're twins lol!

I get the typical, I didn't know if you were pregnant or just getting fat. But it doesn't bother me. I have wondered the same about people, just not verbalized it.
I posted this in anther thread, but another weird comment related to pregnancy was when my MIL visited over Easter. I said something about going to the bathroom a lot, and she asked if I was "experiencing vaginal pressure..." Ummmmmmmmmmmm...

My future BIL's grandma told me I couldn't cross my legs because it was bad for the baby. I didn't really want to argue with her so I just uncrossed them. Wonder what she'd think about the fact that I'm still playing competitive tennis at 31 weeks!

@JessKas: i hope you said "what a coincidence, i thought the same about you!"

Ahh I had a guy I barely know at work, we aren't even in the same department, just randomly tell me that it was good I was gaining all my weight back to front, because the side to side spread never goes away. Thanks dude I can't remember the name of?

'Were you this big with your first" ha ha YUP and I am measuring exactly for my due date so there is that!

I took a barre class last night with a different teacher subbing. We were sitting on the floor doing leg or ab work, can't remember which, and she said something like "Wow, I can see that baby!" I'm 29 weeks. Let's hope you're not seeing any baby yet!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
heh, lots. Our director commented that i was moving slower yesterday. Which is true. Last week (week before?) someone in the office "predicted" i would have a "big baby". I'm 9 months, so the comments are EVERYWHERE. I also got a "wowwwwww" when someone asked when I was due. Wasn't sure if that was a good wow or "shit you're huge" wow, lol
cherry / 157 posts
@blackbird: Omg I get "wow"s too, and no one ever explains them. Wow I look good? Wow, I don't recognize your fat face? I don't know! I try to take them as compliments.

I'm not pregnant, but when I was, my favorite came from my husband ... "You know when you see a super pregnant woman at the store, and think 'Who let her out!?! She's going to give birth here!', that's what you look like!" - in all fairness, I was 39 weeks pregnant. I thought it was funny.
pomegranate / 3375 posts
@mrscobee: LOL!! At least she's engaging you in conversation? Haha.
pomegranate / 3904 posts
When I was pregnant, both times, people would say "wow! There's no way you're making it to your due date!" And they were right, but not because I was so huge, just because my babies come early. And I wasn't measuring super big either

This morning I heard "whoa, you have boobs" it was from one of my best friends so she gets a pass, haha.
pomegranate / 3768 posts
@mrsjyw: I've been getting that a lot too. I'm definitely much bigger with this pregnancy than with my first!

I am due tomorrow so I've had about 20 texts today with.. "How are you feeling?" "Any baby yet?" " Any changes?" "When is baby coming?"
This has been a daily thing this week. I tried not responding to all the texts yesterday because I was just so over it but then everyone that didn't hear back from me thought I was in labor! I know everyone is just excited and cares but I am getting tired of having to respond to the same thing over and over.

From a patient at work.
"You see, I thought you were pregnant, but I didn't want to say anything because you look like you might just be fat."
Thank you for not saying anything??
The sweet Korean lady who runs the cafe across from my work.
"Baby in there?"
Yes.
"Oooh, due soon?"
No, September.
"Wow. You really big."
If she weren't so lovely Id have been offended.
And finally- while buying candy at the pharmacy in my office building, the cashier says "You mean to tell me the BABY wants all of that junk?" Shut up, yes!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
"You look great for being pregnant." What does that even mean?
eggplant / 11287 posts
I'm 16.5 weeks pregnant. Yesterday, my SIL (who just had a baby herself 6 months ago) said to me: "Wow, by the looks of you, baby girl will be here any day now!"
Seriously? She knows I'm due in September. And my bump isn't even huge!
pomelo / 5132 posts
You don't even look pregnant! Oh really? I'm pretty sure I don't normally look like this...

This was 3 days postpartum but it still annoyed me. I was at my first pediatrician appt for LO. I had to go back up to the front to turn in paperwork while my husband was back in the exam room with LO. This was with a lady who works at the office.
Her: when are you due?
Me: I had him 3 days ago
Her: well look at all of you!
Me: ...
Her: I guess that's why you'd be here then isn't it
Me: ...

Nothing specific, but we go over my ILs house once a week for dinner, and every week they're like, "Wow...you're even bigger than last week!" Um, isn't that the point?
Last week MIL said "Are you eating a lot of sweets?"
clementine / 812 posts
@Mrs.Pinecone316: oh I'm sorry!! Those texts made hormonal mama livid...especially when I was past my due date.
@Mrs. Oatmeal: That cashier. Wow.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: Wow, rude! That's not even funny! What a trip!
@Boopers: What???!!! Hello, at a peds office they should be trained to keep their yappers shut, with all the brand new babies coming in. WTH
@TheSwissWifeStyle: You should have told your MIL: "no sweets, but I think I'm going to switch to *light* beer."

I saw my neighbor last week, and she said, "Oh my gosh! You're HUGE! Any day now, right??" I just smiled and told her that I have TWO MONTHS left.
eggplant / 11716 posts
I had a security guard at the store ask, "any day now?", and I was like......um...if "any day now" is 4 months from now, but thanks.
pomegranate / 3272 posts
I had a pedicure done and when I was checking out the lady at the front asked me how long and when I said 3 months, she told me that I was going to have a HUGE baby and am I sure that there aren't 2 in there. WTF? I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and maybe she asked me how far along I was and heard that I was only 3 months. Either way, no way in hell I'm going back there.

Just heard another fun one. Told my coworker I was having a boy, and she proceeded to point out that when boys grow up and get married they are always closer to the wife's family, so when he grows up I should be prepared to never see him or talk to him, so I better hope I have a girl in the future.
pomelo / 5524 posts
@mrscobee: What in the world??
I told someone today that we were having our second boy, and her reaction was, "Oooooooh nooooooooooo! I'm sorry!"
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@mrscobee: I've heard this too and it always makes me laugh because DH is still super close to his parents (and only tolerates mine lol).
@2PeasinaPod: Yep, get this a lot. I'm actually thrilled to be having 2 boys, so it gets on my nerves!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
Does one from my 5 year old student count? He asked me today, "Did your husband put the baby seed in your belly?!" Oh, and my husband also works at my school ha.
They also tell me I'm getting huge all the time, but they're cute about it so it doesn't bother me
clementine / 918 posts
For the last week (37 wks), when someone is walking the opposite direction in a hallway at work they will step to the side to let me pass - like I'm so huge there's no way the two of use could pass side by side. It's so crazy, like a dozen different people and all this week. I really don't think I"m any bigger than last week!
pomelo / 5258 posts
For the past two weeks I've been getting "Your belly is finally here!" and "I see it now!". I'm 31 weeks and a month from starting maternity leave. I feel like people are finally starting to believe I'm really pregnant.

My favorite comment so far came from a co-worker today. I walked up next to him and he looked over and said "you are gestating nicely." It was hilarious to me, especially given his personality.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@ms.badger: Haha! Are they afraid it's contagious? You are getting so close!
pomegranate / 3791 posts
@Ms.Badger: I had the opposite thing happen! Even when I was huge towards the end, anytime I needed to squeeze past a co-worker I would say excuse me and they would move over a bit as if it was regular size me needing past. I would often have to add, "Excuse me AND the baby bump" before they left enough room for me to actually go around them. (Retail, so there isn't really room for two people to pass by side by side if we're behind the counter to use the computers or pull a customer's file.)
