About 4 weeks. I think those women are lying. There's no way they couldn't have at least suspected being pregnant.

I think 15 or 16 DPO. We were actively TTC so I was always on edge during TWW.

12 DPO but this actually happened to a friend of mine's wife. And I believe them that it was a complete surprise. To be honest--I didn't believe them until I was pregnant (and knew it) and in my second tri.
When I was 5 months pregnant I realized if I was in their position I would also think I had some terrible stomach ailments, with some rib pain, and weight gain from eating too much. Having never been pregnant I would have thought the same as her--some weird stomach thing!
Poor girl was on all kinds of meds for her abdominal issues and never really showed more than looking fat! With her baby #2 the symptoms were more obvious and they knew within the first tri (I don't know how soon beyond that).

4 weekz exactly.
I knew one girl who didn't know until age was 7 months. Her dad had gotten sick that year and died, so she was super stressed and it messed with her digestive system (or so she thought). Her periods still came, she thought movement was gas, she was overweight, so she gained next to nothing. She said she was so wrapped up in her life at the time and so stressed out that the possibility didn't cross her mind.
I worked with another girl who didn't know till 5 months. I don't know all the details with her, but she had had like 3 periods in her whole life and doctors had told her she couldn't have kids. Eventually she got talked into taking a test when she started gaining weight.

With my first I didn't find out until I was about 5.5 months along. My normal period happens twice a year. I felt bloated that whole time, no sickness, no heartburn, nothing. I went to the Dr to ask about bcp (my at the time husband was very against bcp) I went behind his back. They told me I was pregnant, with twins, and sent me for an ultrasound. Thankfully they were wrong about twins, but shocked me with my dd! My first u/s was an anatomy scan. After I found out all the symptoms came rolling in and I popped. Craziest thing ever.
With Maddy I tested positive on Jan. 31, about 6 weeks along I think. I don't how far along I am now, nurse says 11 weeks. I tested positive on Dec 23. If I had the symptoms I have now the first time around I would've known immediately!!!

I'm confused on the timing of how the dpo relates to how many weeks pregnant. One post said they were 12 dpo which is just under 4 weeks, but 12 days is less than 2 weeks, how can you be 4 weeks along if you just ovulated 12 days ago? Another one said 8 dpo and 3 weeks. Do I not understand how to count how far along you are?

@berdine: when you ovulate, that's "two weeks pregnant" (assuming you're successful), so 7dpo is technically 3 weeks, etc.

@berdine: They count it from the first day of your last period, presuming you have 28 day cycles. They adjust it if cycles are longer or shorter so that O is always 2 weeks pregnant. Its a big 40 week cycle starting with a period - weeks pregnant does not equal number of weeks a baby has been in there.
