I did weekly bump photos but only sent updated photos monthly bc I have close friends who live across the county and they wanted to see the bump. My former coworkers also liked getting monthly bump photos...they would text an email asking for updates. I remember when my best friend was pregnant I was so surprised seeing her baby bump grow and really looked forward to photos since she lived across the country and I only got to see her once when she was prego (at her shower)...so I understood why others wanted to see my belly grow.

Maybe she is really self conscious about how she looks prego...some women just don't feel attractive no matter how adorable their baby bump is. Maybe send her a little gift (prenatal massage?) with a card letting her know you are excited for her and wish you could be there to see her bump in person...maybe that would encourage her to share photos?

@Mrs. Yoyo: I NEVER felt scrutinized. It actually made me feel good about myself when people would comment on how great I looked.

I wanted bump pictures for myself, and I started sharing them on facebook at 20 weeks. I did have several people ask me for them too. But I personally didn't find it a big deal

@miss-spunkin: Trust me, I wish I had felt more like you are describing! I don't know why, but I just felt weird about it.

I was fat and felt blah so didn't take many pictures. Kinda wish I had though!

I really haven't posted much on FB except a few holiday pics and pics from my shower.

For friends who are out of town, I send them a camera phone picture of my bump periodically....they don't ask, I just send and they seem to like it!

Are you friends with her on your own, or is she more like your husband's friend's wife? Maybe you could ask her to Skype with you and you could see the bump that way!

With ALL of my family down in SouthAmerica, I had request for pictures all the time, I didn't started to take them until 14 weeks just because I was too sick to even do my hair, but now I post them on Facebook just because it's easier than emailing all of my family members (God forbid I forgot one of them).

So don't feel bad!! I totally know that they are all excited to see the progress, not because they want to stare at me LOL

I actually felt super happy and flattered there were so many friends (not only family) that want to feel connected to our pregnancy process via pictures, since they will not get a chance to see me until way after the baby is born.

I think it would kind of creep me out if my out of town friends and family asked me to send them bump pictures. Right now I'm only 9w2d so I just look bloated any way... but even once I have a true bump this would make me uncomfortable.

I tried to keep up on my blog for a while and then gave up. No one really asks for them anymore. At this point, I'm done taking belly shots, I'm such a heffer.
