I've helping my mom with her resort, and have noticed that a lot of travelers will tell me that they're traveling for their "honeymoon" and ask for a discount... but when they arrive, it turns out that they've been married for a year or more. Then they will explain that they never got a chance to honeymoon when first they got married, so they are counting this as their honeymoon.

I could see that logic working for a few months or even a year... but I dunno. Maybe I'm too literal about the word "honeymoon"! I'm starting to wonder if they're dropping the term honeymoon in order to try and get freebies or a discount.

It's a bit of a moot point because almost all of our honeymooners are longer stays, and we offer all sorts of extras to longer stays... plus we offer little extras to all guests. But it got me thinking: when's the latest you can travel after a wedding and still call it a "honeymoon"?
