The last month of pregnancy or the first month after a c-section?
In my head my recovery from my c-section was so much easier than this last month....is that my selective memory?

I think this really depends on how hard your pregnancy was. I didn't have a C-section but I was still active til I went into labour. I'm CERTAIN even an easy C-section recovery would have been harder on me than pregnancy.

The last month - I was on bed rest and I think my body was just done. I got up as soon as they would let me after my c-section and immediately felt so much better. I was at the point prior to delivery where it hurt in the morning to stand-up, like actually hurt the bottom of my feet. I had horrible heartburn, swelling, and felt like a whale.
I wouldn't discount the emotional aspect of being able to deal with the physical pain either. The end was emotionally so hard for me. I knew that the "suffering" (quotes because a lot of people have worse and I had sort of lost perspective while on bed rest) was for something (or I guess someone), but without the snuggles and being able to see him, I was at a loss.
Hang in there, Mama!

My second pregnancy knocked me on my butt with exhaustion in the last few weeks. I'm 3 weeks out from my RCS and I'm at 95-98%.

I say for me it was my c-section recovery because I HATED that I wasn't able to get out of bed easily to pick up my baby. Someone had to hand him to me.

The last month of pregnancy was hands-down harder for me than my C-section recovery.

With my 1st, the last month of pregnancy was much harder. With my 2nd, c section recovery was harder.

Other than breastfeeding pain, I'd say I was more uncomfortable the last month of pregnancy than first month after c-section (I really felt almost no pain and was really only even somewhat uncomfortable for like a week). But I thought the first month after c section was harder because I was so limited in what I was allowed to do even though I felt okay. My lats month of pregnancy I might have been sore but I could do stairs as much as I wanted and drive and I would go for miles-long walks. The first month after c section I was seriously restricted on stairs and I couldn't drive and I wasn't supposed to walk much and I couldn't pick anything other than the baby up. So that just was annoying.

Last month hands down. And I had very easy pregnancies. I was 95% fine my day five.

C-section was physically harder for me. I had never had major surgery like that before, and I'm a pretty active person. the fact that I needed help to do some things blew my mind.
The last month, I was doing a lot of walking, eating healthy and was in pretty good shape. My biggest problem was sleeping, but it was nothing compared to recovering from a C-section.

Right now I'm in my last month of pregnancy and I'm in so much more pain than I remember being in after my C-section. My back, hips, and shoulder all hurt, I have constant heartburn/reflux, and I'm swollen. I remember getting around pretty good after my C-section!

Definitely the last month of pregnancy. I was so swollen and uncomfortable. I was feeling pretty good about a week after my c-section.

The last month of pregnancy was SOOO much worse. I could barely walk because of pubic bone pain and getting out of breath. I was exhausted, on bed rest, could barely shower for 5 minutes without agony, and my BP and blood sugar were out of control.
Immediately after the baby I felt better. It took a day or two to be able to move around and then I felt kind of funny, like my insides were moving around too much. But other than that I was so so so much better.

@Mrs. Lion: I had an unplanned c-section after contracting for over a day, and felt like the first 8-10 days after the c-section were super hard. After that, though, I began to feel SO much better. By my incision check (two weeks out) I was able to drive myself to the OB, easily handle stairs, walk our dogs, get in and out of bed without needing to use our headboard, etc. The last month of pregnancy was definitely harder for me, and now that I'm three months PP, I barley remember the c-section recovery pain-but the rib/joint pain from the end of pregnancy is a very vivid memory!

First pregnancy, c-section recovery was way easier than pregnancy. Second time around, it was way harder - I had help for the first two weeks all day but as soon as that stopped I was way overdoing it and caused some incision problems and a much longer more painful recovery.

Pregnancy. In the last month, I was too out of breath to walk a block, exhausted, and so much false labour! Afterwards, there was only soreness when getting up and coughing and that only lasted a few days.
