I have my first appointment (including my 1st u/s) next week. I absolutely love my OB/GYN, but I'm realizing she might not be the one performing the u/s. It's in her office, so maybe??? In your experience, who did your 1st u/s (if it was in your doctor's office)?

It was ALWAYS a u/s tech; never my OB. On us days it was two appointments. One for u/s then a following checkup.

When I had ultrasounds at my OB's office my OB always did it.

Mine was always my OB, he had a machine in his office.

My OB gave me an ultrasound at my first prenatal checkup.

I had one with the ultra sound tech at my RE's office, then I had another ordered by my OB that was done in the Maternal Fetal Medicine department because it was an NT scan. I have no idea if all my ultrasounds will end up being at MFM, or not.

My OB did my first U/S, but every U/S after that was done in my OB's office by the U/S technician. I only had one other that was done in the hospital by my OB.

Mine were always done by a tech at one of the labs associated with my health system. My OB/GYN does not have an in house ultrasound machine though. I also had one with DS and all the rest of my u/s for this pregnancy will be done with MFM.

Ultrasound tech did the first ultrasound. The only time I've had a doctor do an ultrasound was when I had a Level II ultrasound to monitor something found during the anatomy scan. But the tech did the ultrasound then the doctor came in and quickly checked things out herself. That was at the city hospital, not the OB/GYN practice I have regular ultrasounds at.

I've only ever had an ultrasound tech do it! Right in the same office, but never done by my doctor.

I've had an ultrasound at every appointment. My ob does them every time and he is the one who does them.

They are performed in the OB's office but by a ultrasound tech. Once, my OB had to do it because we weren't able to locate the baby's heartbeat on the doppler, and she was totally clueless on how to use the machine.

My ultrasounds were always done by techs. On the first one she just sent a report up to the OB. My others were done in the MFM clinic, so one of the MFM OBs would come in and look herself after the tech had done the measurements, etc.

u/s tech did my 12 week and 18 week scan. They kept referring to them as "Dr." Are most techs dr's? (totally off topic)

My RE did my first two scans. When I switched to an OB he did all of them except the anatomy scan.
